What the op said is very true joor. No dignity of Labour in teaching primary schools or secondary schools in Nigeria 🇳🇬. No well paid salaries. Some schools will even be owning the suffering teachers for months too. I can’t do that kind of job lai lai 1 Like |

My wife is a qualified teacher with NCE and B. Ed. and more than ten years of experience. She is excellent in early childhood education and every school she has taught never wants her to go. The proprietor of one called us for thirteen minutes when he heard she had resigned. Her salary was N20,000.
One of her deepest regrets is that she chose the teaching profession. She said she would have achieved much if she had put all she invested in teaching on another career path.
People are leaving the miserable job in droves. If you ask any school owner, they will tell you that lack of teachers (either qualified or not) is one of their greatest challenges now.
The situation of the country in recent times has made it that almost no one wants to do the job. A school owner was lamenting early this year that one of her staff quitted to pick a 7am to 7pm factory job. 5 Likes |

If you're in your 20s, deep down you know you can't amount to anything with that job in this country.
Take risk, do that fraud, the times where decency in how you earn might get you something or somewhere great is gone.
Critically look at the options to make money legally in this country and compare it to the population, then you'll realise that everyone cannot succeed legally.
So that your friend that did fraud but you did not join him or her because you thought there's something better somewhere, better swallow your pride and go back to him or her if they're still in the country anyway and like you enough to forgive and teach you.
The concept of right or wrong is relative to the circumstances in your environment, everyone won't have first class or second class upper, so what should others do, kill themselves
Do what you have to do then go legit, a time might come in this country or the world where only those that have money would be afforded rights
Most people that did fraud(yahoo yahoo) and other affiliated schemes would go on to live a very fulfilled life, don't be shocked when their kids or they themselves employ you, the hardworking citizens. E.g your politicians.

Monaboo: Very soon, parents will end up teaching their kids at home by themselves because the well educated teachers are leaving the profession.
Why? Poor Renumeration. It's only in Nigeria that Secondary School teachers are paid N30K per month.
How do u want a man to survive on such salary. School Owners will be paying such salary and be thinking they are doing a favour.
I started teaching in 2009 with SSCE. I actually love teaching. Teaching is my calling. I started doing Students Broadsheet when I was just 8yrs old. I went to the University and bagged a B.Sc in Geography and Planning.
I was teaching Geography in a Private Secondary School in Lagos. Woke up one morning and said goodbye to teaching in Nigeria.
Teachers are not paid well. They are not treated well. School Owners use teachers anyhow. I used to teach the whole school. I taught Jss1 to JSS3 Agricultural Science and SS1 to SS3 Geography. You will write lesson note and be tired. You will enter class and copy note on the blackboard till your hands pain you. Principal will still shout on you in presence on students. I suffered. All ontop rubbish salary wey no reach N25K.
People say "teaching is a calling". I laugh Becos it is calling that will pay the bills abi?
Even children now do not want to end up as teachers. Even u reading this would not want ur child to end up as a teacher in Nigeria.
Now am not talking about Government school teachers o. Atleast those ones still dey see money.
Some Private school teachers earn as low as 20K per month in Nigeria. Graduates o. In this Buhari-Tinubu Guinness World Record Regime.
Teaching is one of the hardest professions in the world because we are the mothers of all profession.
I'm just looking for money now to do my International Passport. Once I get it by God's grace, I don leave Nigeria for una. any GIS training. |

Which one is "Mucher" again Employing meaningless terms in a sentence under the guise of poetic license may weaken the intended effect and cloud the communication. Insisting on "Mucher" with poetic license is like playing a musical note out of tune and defending it as artistic flair. While creative freedom is embraced, maintaining coherence is pivotal to convey a message that resonates. 3 Likes |

Guess what, despite the ups and downs of the private sector in education and the massive exploitation and maltreatment, i still love teaching always have, seeing my dad, mom all teach and brought me up to be who i am today, i loved it, I love teaching, its a sacrifice i will make all over again.
yesterday i got some art work from a kid, she said i was her favorite teacher and she gave it to me as a gift, it was terribly drawn lol but i loved it anyway, it sort of gave me great pride to hang her art work in my room. My love for my profession and the kids is what keeps me going. As at 10 years ago, I knew a school at gbagada, the lowest earning teacher earned 120k monthly. Regular trainings to UK etc. Even a school I am associated with today in downtown lagos, the lowest earning teacher I think makes 70k basic. Principal 350-400k with official car. Get a teaching job in eg Lagos preparatory school and see how much you make. Well, as in all professions, earnings vary, eg a banker in Zenith bank vs a banker at igando micro finance bank. 3 Likes |

The situation of the country in recent times has made it that almost no one wants to do the job.
