Kog45:From what I watched, I think the formation might be limiting him. He is more suitable as a wide forward than a wide midfielder. That doesn't take away the fact that he sometimes commit silly errors during matches. 1 Like |

Kog45: Odegbami spoke many truths. Our league is very poor. Enyeama with Enyimba played against Ismaili of Egypt and conceded six goals in cairo. How many of such exposure does Christian Nwoke have playing in the league? Is he just playing against his fellow NPFL that he is considered good enough? Uzoho shone for Deportivo in la liga as a substitute goalkeeper and that was his turning point. Unfortunately, his development seems to have stalled. We need goalkeepers who are already doing it at least on the continent. 2 Likes |

M7even: And if we don't have a competent hand doing it at least in the continent, is it not advisable to look for a promising talent and nurture him? |

@jihday, @kingphilip There you have it. So Taiye Taiwo did "match sabotage" in his last few appearances under the following coaches to get them sacked according to Keshi's assistant and @TheGoodJoe - Austin Equavoen - Berti Vogts - Amodu Shuaibu - Lars Lagerbeck - Samson Siasia TheGoodJoe: 1 Like |

Philosopher1979: In all sincerity I believe in Pesiero, I believe we stand a better chance with him leading us to the AFCON at least a semi-final spot is realizable. I'm rather happier we are not going into the tournament with self-overconfidence. I had the same feeling of patience with the Super Falcons coach prior to their outstanding world cup campaign. The team will gel.. Even keshi's AFCON team did not gel until the do or die game we had against Ivory Coast. Luckily the Ivorian also had a poor goalkeeper in Barry. When u watch the goals he conceded against Nigeria in the quarter finals, if Uzoho conceded such we would have called for his head. So, I say every team is coming to win. And it is the team that just finds the blend that wins. Senegal at the last AFCON struggled throughout the group stage but won albeit via penalty kicks against Egypt we beat in our opening match. We are playing well, we are not just converting chances. And I say that with our attackers hitting the right tournament fever just like Odion Ighalo in 2019 we are on course for a good tournament. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Kingdom Osayi is another goalkeeper that's getting some hype from fans in the NPFL... 10 games, 8 clean sheets, 5 goals conceded, and 2 assists this season for Doma United.. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

TheGoodJoe: Lol. You know very well that we don't nurture in the super eagles. And of course we should look for promising talents to strengthen the squad. It's almost January, I'm more confident having Adeleye or Uzoho in goal against Ivory Cost. That is not the time to have a promising talent too big a risk. Perhaps he can come into the camp And learn. |

Odunayaw:since that abuja stadium riot, i don taya. There's one consistent variable -NFF leaders. We've changed coaching staff and personnel and players etc and one keeps getting bigger and bigger, stealing the limelight when it should be backstage. They can't even pay These two coaches for male and female without backlogs. I really pity whoever is employed by them as coaches too. Baba Mathematical just wan form one sage oversight. Those things no dey work like before. |

M7even:Sir,Enyeama did not play any continental football before joining eagles. Vincent Enyeama had three months experience in NPFL division one after he left Ibom star to join Enyimba, with Kenya friendly in May,2002 just weeks to World Cup as his debut match and his second cap was against England in World Cup. Christian Nwoke doesn’t need any continental competition to prove that he is ready for eagles. Uzoho shone in La liga with two matches? and he was ready for eagles right?…Maduka played regional league and he was ready for eagles? but an NPFL keeper doing it week in week out is not ready abi. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Danielnino00:I mentioned Osayi Kingdom here with Christian Nwoke but to some they are yet to get continental experience but when Okoye got invited playing in regional league it was a good development …a third division Uzoho stood in for Deportivo La Coruna first choice in just two matches straight to eagles. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Kog45(m): 4:25am On Nov 26, 2023 |
M7even:We don’t nurture in eagles but we nurtured Uzoho and Maduka. Almost January got nothing to do with having new good keeper between the sticks….Oga,Enyeama had his second cap against England after played a mere last friendly match against Kenya in preparation for WC and he spent less than a week in camp to prove that he was ready. I know much about Enyeama,Ejide and Aiyenugba rise cuz the ex super eagles goalkeeper trainer Amusa Adisa that gave them the opportunities was my university coach I had discussions with him on the state of our keepers and he said Nwoke,Osayi,Amas and Bankole can do it,just left for eagles handlers to have confidence in them. I put a call to Dele Aiyenugba on Nwoke based on his performance in Ilorin and he said Egbon make i no lie you the boy is good for eagles. Sir,nothing special about Uzoho,Maduka and Adeleye that the four rated NPFL keepers will not measure up to,funny Olorunleke Ojo is not even in the picture of rated NPFL keepers. 7 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:What continental experience are we talking about. We too Dey exaggerate and hype nonsense…..Uzoho is always on the bench in Cyprus league….Maduka since last season just played 3 non league matches and it is showing in their performances for eagles. 2 Likes |

Kog45: Pure facts....the NPFL goalkeepers are way more active than Uzoho and Maduka who were given preferential treatment by Rohr but have been calamitous. The keeper situation is in fact better than the midfield cos of these home based goalies...just hope we get a coach that does the needful. 1 Like |

Kog45:A good shot stopper is already good in that aspect. If his ball handling is good no one can change that. If his ball distribution is good, it's already there. All NFF need do if they are really serious about the crisis is to attach a pro GK trainer to upgrade him in positioning. Chikena. He cannot be worse than Uzoho. 1 Like |

comodo:This is the old man Amusa Adisa now 81 years old but gave Enyeama and Ejide needed breakthrough in 2002 when the man was 60 year old as super eagles goalkeeper trainer and university of Ilorin school coach……He gave Dele Aiyenugba the opportunity too….just read what the old man said here 3 Likes 1 Share

comodo:Sir,thanks for this,I followed Nigeria league passionately in the 80s,90s to 2000s,traveling to watch NPFL matches before i japa,as a stadium boy i had good relationships with players and sports journalists across Nigeria through stadium arena platform. Recently I had discussions with some ex players and in summary they said keepers(Amas Obasogie,Christian Nwoke,Osayi Kingdom,Kayode Bankole)we have in the league now are better than Uzoho,Maduka and Adeleye but left for Peseiro to decide. |

tglobal: Making jokes does not change the point that the coach highlighted that it was the grave statement of Taiwo that got him nailed out of the team. Making jokes about it will not change the point. Forming things that were never quoted will also not change the coach's statement. The question should be, why did Taiwa not give a rebuttal, instead of jokes. 1 Like |
