IGBOSON1: Obi Jackson and other Anambra billionaires should be less parochial. Why not build that hotel and golf course near Awka where it would draw more visitors than okija? In fact it could be part of a broader Anambra plan to make the Awka metro area a conferencing, hospitality and services destination. Less prominent towns like Okija makes sense for schools, hospitals, light industry or agroprocessing. 7 Likes |

We need world class facilities, look at what Stanley oil built in Lagos (Delborough hotel), very magnificent hotel and world class amenities , we needs such iconic structures in Anambra state especially Awka Have Anambra state government release their prototype of the hotel yet?? We need both interior and exterior to be world standard. Agulu hotel is ok but not world class compare to that of Uyo. We’re hosted there last Saturday and the ambience was amazing , from the road that leads to the hotel and the hotel itself is a beauty to behold Apkabio have test, I swear. I have not driven on such road in Nigeria before, from road markings to traffic lights to walkways to trees planted on both sides of the road with the one at the middle to standard streetlights etc Lemme also says that there’s no ugly sands at the edge of the roads🌚 Julius Berger shows superior on that road, it’s indeed a world class In all, Uyo is fine but the masses are poor 6 Likes |

Jcoleworld911: Awka indigenes should beg their wealthy sons to also help in developing the rugged town abi is it only cultist IGR dey know how to generate for Anambra? The other one up there is querying obi Jackson for developing his town🤣. If he doesn't develop okija..na Awka him go develope? Another problematic pple in Anambra are Awka pple..u pple font like development and u won't allow others develop their towns...other state capitals have left u pple behind. Continue in ur cultism IGR and embarrassing Anambra State all d time with naked women swearing on the streets |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Pacesetterz: 5:59am On Nov 27, 2023 |
abuzz33:You're talking nonsensê. If e pain u tell wealthy ndị Awka to go build their own golf course. Obi Jackson will develop okija however he wants it. Awka is a town next to nothing...the hotels scattered all in Awka of what benefit has it given to Anambra? Nothing...just a breeding ground for yahoo boys...yahoo tourism..young boys from Benin,Delta, imo and Enugu all driving flashy cars and having a bad influence on Anambra youths. Awka pple should emulate other good state capitals and welcome only good development. Cultism and yahooism is not a way of life. Awka is one town steady giving Anambra a bad PR..if it's not naked women protesting against cultism,..it will be dead bodies splattered all around d town like a Rwanda war zone. Obi Jackson did well..everybody should put in effort in developing their towns..govt alone can't. So rest nwokem |

Go and face your backward useless worthless shithole imo state and your glorified rural area that’s Owerri. Anambra is not your cursed imo state, no wonder millions of imo indigenes are trooping to Onitsha and Awka to live because Owerri is a slum and a glorified rural area. Awka is America compare to the village that’s Owerri Owerri has remained the worst state capital in southern nigeria simply because you useless imo indigenes have refused to develop that village. lol Pacesetterz: 2 Likes |

Imo state is a cursed useless worthless state that has nothing to offer anyone no wonder most imo indigenes prefer to live in Anambra. Owerri is a slum and a glorified village that has continued to igboland bad name from commercial prostitution to armed robbery, kidnapping, ipob terrorism, otokoto, yahoo yahoo, etc. Owerri is a village and should be demolished to pave way for decent development. Owerri is a breeding ground for all the ills in igboland. Owerri is a cursed village that ipob terrorists have converted as their stronghold. Owerri is a land of cannibalism where humans are flesh are sold even in the market, human flesh and bones are all scattered everywhere in Owerri because it is a land of cannibalism. Imo indigenes are running to a better developed progressive cities like Onitsha and Awka to live and invest because Owerri is a slum and useless and worthless. Imo indigenes should try and develop their capital so that imo people can come home and be proud to invest. Imo state is a cursed failed state Pacesetterz: 2 Likes |

Jcoleworld911: Igboland is not yet ready to become independent. In the last 10 years, Yoruba sons who are into oil and gas have built more than 2 powerplants in their region to achieve self sufficiency in power generation. Dangote has built the world's largest refinery in Lagos, all the telecom companies have their equipment and head offices in Lagos. The South West can be fully independent if anything happens to Nigeria because they have the 3 main things that make a country function: Electricity, Fuel and Telecommunication. Now look at Igboland, hotels everywhere, housing estates up and down. If anything happens to Nigeria today, we are fvcked. No petrol refinery, no fully functioning powerplant, no telecommunication. Northern Nigeria has Kanji Dam, Shiroro Dam, Mambila Powerplant etc these plants alone can generate over 2000MW of power at full capacity. The South South has Afam powerplant, about 2 other Powerplants in Delta, Tony Elumelu recently built another either in Delta or Rivers state. They also have multiple modular refineries plus the Port Harcourt refinery that can be quickly repaired. South East is just there. No form of sustainability at all. IGR poor, power generation poor, geometric power has been making noise about their paltry 180mw power plant in Aba for about 10 years now, I'm not even sure it has started working up till now; no single refinery up till now, thank God for the Hausa man who built a 5000bpd modular refinery in Imo state but even at that, the refinery does not produce petrol and 5000bpd is too small for the South east. I know I'm not in a position to tell Obi Jackson what he should invest his money into but, I thought this was the same man that wanted to build a 2000mw power plant in Okija at one time like that? What happened to that project? The most annoying part is that we have the wealthy individuals who can build these things but they rather build it outside igboland. The southeast suffers so much from petrol price hikes because the NNPC depot in the East is no longer functioning. Do you believe that despite this issues in igboland, the current governor of Enugu built a massive Oil farm in Ogun state instead of Enugu. He commissioned the project few weeks before the governorship election. We keep building important economic assets outside while we build unsustainable stuff in the east. This hotel and golf course by Obi Jackson is good but I would have preferred the powerplant he proposed few years back. 4 Likes |

The NIPOWA shopping center being built at Amawbia is by far the only finest aesthetic construction in Anambra State. I doubt if the contractors are easterners...because an Igbo man will never pay attention to details when constructing...that building alone gave a breath of fresh air in that rugged axis...so beautifully constructed with greenery. Then another building around there that also gave that Amawbia axis a sense of beauty is the new Jezco oil station. The colors look cool...the Anambra State Govt should adopt that sea blue and white as the states color...those yellow and black rugged colors carried by all Kekes etc, should be repainted to that jezcos color. Everytime I enter Anambra everywhere keep looking like a danfo region. 2 Likes |

Owerri is a slum and a glorified rural area, that’s why most imo indigenes prefer to troop to more developed cities of Onitsha and Awka to live and invest. Owerri should be merged with Aba so that Otti can fix Owerri into what a state capital should look like. Even Aba is better than Owerri . Owerri should be demolished and rebuilt. The only thing Owerri has to offer is dilapidated infrastructures, slums, poverty, ipob terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, yahoo yahoo, etc. no sane person would want to raise family in a cursed glorified village like Owerri. Abufo: How do you explain that the governor of Enugu built an oil farm in Ogun state when the only oil farm in Enugu (and the east in general) is not functioning? The issue with Geometric Power had to do with both electricity generation and transmission. The federal government has provided the license for states and other independent contractors to build power plants. What is stopping those in Igboland from building their own? Egbin Powerplant in Lagos is indigenous, there is another indigenous power plant in Ogun. These are just private Powerplants excluding those built by the governments of Ogun and Lagos. In the East, we don't have state owned neither do we have private owned and you are blaming the Federal Government? I beg to defer from what you said about the Federal Government being the main thing hindering our progress, we Ndigbo are our own problems. If the Federal Government could not stop Anambra from building an International Airport, why do you think they will stop Anambra from building a power plant? If Anambra can budget billions to build an Airport, why can't Anambra budget billions to build, at least, a 100mw power plant? What is stopping that daft Imo state from doing same? With all the natural gas we have? Disgrace. 1 Like |
