Giving Birth To Your Own Child Is Not A Sacrifice by Solofresh2: 9:04am On Nov 28, 2023 |
I came across this thread https://www.nairaland.com/7922825/husband-before-ask-wife-what and I see the OP trying to justify the saying "what does a woman brings to the table" anthem by men nowadays. Saying a woman facing a difficult time giving birth to her child is a sacrifice is a no no.It is natural for a woman to give birth to a child, either difficulty or not. It is also natural for a man to releases sperm,so as to impregnate a woman. If a man find it difficult to impregnate a woman, will you call that a sacrifice too? Infact, sacrifice is when a man provides everything for his woman because it is not compulsory. Anybody can make money to provide for their own needs, not always waiting for your man to do everything for you. It is your responsibility as a woman to carry your pregnancy if you want a child. 105 Likes 10 Shares |

Solofresh2: No, in today's world it is an option as not every woman is biologically able to get pregnant or carry a pregnancy to full term.....that is why surrogacy exists as an option for such women who intend to have children. There is another group of women who struggle with tokophobia (intense fear of pregnancy, which makes them do everything possible to avoid getting pregnant and giving birth even when sexually active) and this is a mental health condition that needs intense cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) sessions to challenge it. 16 Likes 1 Share |

Yes,of course. I chose to fvck, I chose! How can I be making a sacrifice for that which i've decided to bring into this world? Instead, it is they that would have to sacrifice on my behalf because I may not be able to fulfill all their childhood dreams. Hopefully, I live long enough to ensure they become independent adults. Child bearing isn't a sacrifice on either the mans part nor the womans part. Sacrifice? On who's behalf? Did the child whisper into their ears to tun off the lights and rub genitals? Come on! Shockingly, it's only humans that have this audacity! You don't see monkeys tellings it's offspring "I sacrificed for you to live." Whatever sacrifices I make, it is not for the sake of the children, it is for my sake: Because, only through them can my ancestors and I attain immortality. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

With redpillers wey full nairaland, it is almost impossible not to see a counter thread as regards to the first thread But true true, pregnancy shouldn't be seen as a sacrifice. Nature designed it for a woman to carry pregnancy, not like women suddenly start carrying pregnancy so calling it a sacrifice is absurd. Secondly a child does not belong to a man alone. 21 Likes 1 Share |

I disagree! It's a big sacrifice and that's why it is a life or death situation! I have witnessed a stillbirth that was tried to manage for about a week before it was flushed! I have witnessed three successful labors and I was wholly present physically in one seeing how the baby came out! I witnessed how the tears were sutured! I felt the pains and bore the trauma with her! You can't really imagine seeing a baby come out live and direct! Abeg It's a big sacrifice! God bless all mothers! But make them remember the pain and raise good kids! 15 Likes 1 Share |

The child doesn't belong to the man alone. it's the woman's child too. It is a sacrifice but not to the extent of holding anybody hostage or making the man's life unbearable. 4 Likes 1 Share |

You guys should rest abeg! Giving birth is a risky venture and not everyone is ready to undertake that risk. A woman in my neighborhood died recently while in labor. I bet she would still be alive if she were not pregnant. Anything that endangers the life of another is risky and pregnancy is one of it. I have seen women whose pregnancies weren't high risk, but they still couldn't make it during child birth. If you think pregnancy isn't a sacrifice, then why is it such a big deal to you if a woman can't get pregnant? 10 Likes 1 Share |
