Palestinians fled because they were scared for their lives, because of rumors they heard that they were going to be killed, based on what had happened in previous massacres. Some of these rumors were purposefully spread by Israelis to Palestinian leaders to get them to leave. It was a whisper campaign designed to get Palestinians to leave so Israel could take and consolidate their land. Some of these whispers were that Israel had a nuclear weapon they would use. These plans were unearthed by Historians in writings, one I quote by an Israeli general at the time.

Kevin Mcconnell got in trouble this week for saying that the US never asked for land when they fought wars.
