not as Nigeria

They do. It's bad.
Very recently I watched a video about why south Africa has electricity issues. At some points I had to remind myself that it was South Africa that was being talked about. Not Nigeria.

It is so bad that criminal gangs are outright controlling the coal supplies for the power plants that are coal fired. Then there was the power station that took far longer to complete because anc officials were.benefiting from kickbacks and Still does not work.

South Africa get issues.

Which useless thing do you produce in aba and how does it reflect in the revenue??

Ogun state alone generate more more than your five states and that makes sense to you clowns.

Tax? You economic illiterates. You live in backwards mud house. Instead of your leaders to empower you economically, he goes to China to bring tax payers. Same tax your elites squander on their side chicks while your house collapse on your head

Countries make money from indigenous and foreign companies that keep Thier money within the country not just paying taxes. Taxes can be added to price of things but money earned and kept in the state is there and that's how your GDP is grown

Anambra has better GDP we choose not to tax the companies because they're mostly indigenous cheesy

The problems with south Africa is simple

For decades black people suffered under white rule . Denied good education, denied good living conditions . Many black people suffered and died for freedom

Then black majority rule came.

And the leadership faced a dilemma. Do you tell the majority that they need to suffer more so that sa can become an industrial nation like China.....or do you spend money on mass welfare projects for the poor, and worry about where it would come from later?

Lemme add that many of those developed countries and even China that we see, it took them generations of suffering and pain before they got there. Most African countries at independence no wan tell their people that story

So mass welfare , and when the money runs out, mama imf is there with a loan.

SHUT UP. IT IS NOT TRUE.

If we had enough money coming in, you will see the effect.

Do you think there is no corruption in Saudi, UAE and co?

There is HEAVY corruption there, but the fact that they have a tiny population means that the govt can easily fix the country even with the corruption.

So having a lot of money coming in, will always negate the effects of corruption.

You notice corruption because we don’t have enough money coming in.

1. Algeria produces about 4 times more oil than we do so more money

2. South Africa has a diversified economy and as such has more money.

3. Egypt has a diversified economy and is a tourism monster. (Everyone must see the Pyramids and the Sphinx at least once. That's billions of kash in hard currency without doing anything)

Algeria does not produce 4 times what we produce. In fact Algeria daily produce is 1.47 million a day.

As for South Africa and Egypt, their leaders knows what is good for the people, they did not tell Nigeria not to diversify it's economy

They have tiny populations compared to Nigeria, so even if their annual budget is 5 billion dollars, it still covers them more than our 33 billion dollars covers us.

We simply need to generate more income as a nation.

The US has only around 300 million people, yet their annual budget is 8 TRILLION dollars.

Because in spite of the highest allocation from the FAAC in the past 8 years, this year included it was APC that managed the money for Pdp who have been @ the helms of Delta State for the past 24 years?

They also have 44.8 million people. 44.8 million people, compared to our 220 million people. As a result, better per capita revenue, compared to ours.

Proving my point, and Reno's point, and thanks for the correction.

As for South Africa and Egypt, their leaders knows what is good for the people, they did not tell Nigeria not to diversify it's economy

I wish the above was true
1. South Africa has a large poor underclass in part because the White Arphateid government wrecked them educationally and economically, and the ANC messed things up further when they took over.

They produce more electricity than we do, AND have massive power cuts. Right.

2.Egypt yes, has a diversified economy, AND something we don't have,....a tourisim sector that is bigger than some sane countries; own. Egypt also has massive corruption problems and poverty issues.

Grass not always green, and no it does not make Nigeria's bad government better. We gat room for improvement. But your thinking our oil revenue is enough for our needs is wrong.

Even all the above countries, if they implemented sane economic policies, they should have budgets three times that.

Nigeria's problem is not our population ( it should normally be an advantage) or the budget prepared, the problem is our leaders who are not visionary and that means there is no visible plan. Our leaders vie for political offices just for personal and selfish aggrandizement.
The countries I listed have relatively lesser population compared to Nigeria but are effectively and efficiently utilizing what is at their disposal.
As long as we keep retaining these sets of vision less and underperforming leaders, the story will always remain the same even if we have budget that is X2 of the USA and population divided by 2 of our current population.

The BIGGER Question to ask here is......How MANY of these Noisemakers here ACTUALLY pay their taxes?

Do Mechanics, 4 by 4 Traders, spare parts sellers,Hawkers, etc pay their taxes How

We Keep comparing ourselves with Countries with High numbers of their Citizens doing their PART of Contributing to their Country's economy by paying taxes.

We cannot be on par with these other Countries if we pay ZERO Taxes.

Most of these Noisemakers have NEVER filled a tax form in their ENTIRE LIFE....
