A missing context is what the debts are used for - consumption or productive ventures? US, Japan, China, France and Italy are the top 5 countries with the highest national debts in absolute term.

But compared to their debt-to-GDP ratio, only Japan will be on that list, joined by Sudan, Greece and Eritrea.

From what you posted, a circular was issued by the custom on pharmaceuticals import restriction
which suggest a security motive.

Nigeria imports about $1.1 billion pharmaceutical per year while the total imports is more than $50 billion dollars.
How can anyone claim that no port can work because less than 2.5% of total import can't pass through it?

So we should agree that Apapa port will fold up if 2.5% of its yearly import is redirected elsewhere?

I just hope this isn't the reason behind the "FG is killing ports outside Lagos" we hear regularly.
