Odin13:that's what they don't understand. White men visited them first as a result of proximity to the sea and showed them western lifestyle and igbos were mostly rebellious to the white and took time to assimilate. But like you said 2023 can we compare Enugu town to oshogbo town? Or oshogbo smelly girls to Enugu cleans girls 2 Likes |

It's foolish to judge civility by the amount of clothing one wears. What's happening today? Ladies and some men are almost returning to nudity. You see ceremonies where the same people who recorded what mischievous Reno is quoting are completely nude, promoting self-love and acceptance. It's philosophical. The ancient Romans were mostly naked, often stark naked, yet they carried their culture and civilization to many countries and conquered many. Most countries today adopted their CIVIL system. While I am not a fan of bragging, it's the effective CIVIL system of the Igbos that redistributed wealth effectively and forced people to take control of their destinies after the war. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Gajagojo: I'm not denying the pictures my point was that the picture doesn't represent the entirety of Igbos at that time Go go Google type African child in Africa you'll see the pictures of drab looking African children deep inside the forest of Congo You'll hardly see good pictures Even mister beast came here and went to 5he most rural areas of the Africa to make contents Igbos wore akwaete since the late 1700s They wore akwa mmiri even earlier than than 1700s Top clothes wasn't an igbo thing that much people weren't full of filth like now . Then , if you love a girl you go pay her bride price she's yours. No one look at anyone lustfully no body was interested. Sexual immorality was seriously forbidden There are countless pictures of igbos wearing better clothes that predated his work 4 Likes

KwuoteYourFada: You lied and claimed what is not yours The reality and contention is that Igbos were quite backward compared to Yoruba and other Southern groups They should not claim they developed Lagos when we know them to be quite primitive 8 Likes 1 Share |

Gajagojo: Backwards how? Igbos had complex government system completely decentralised confederal republican government of different communities. Igbos are way more ancient than any tribe in Nigeria and far more advanced. My reasons are based on archeological facts 1. Nsude pyramids Udi Enugu State dated 2630-2610 BC 2. Igbo potteries they're distinct with Uli design which is an igbo artistic style Results indicate that pottery making has been in existence in the Igbo culture region since before 2000 B.C. The earliest evidence to date comes from Afikpo. 3. Igbo ukwu bronze works almost all dates back to the 9th century AD The arts where first ever bronze work done in not just Nigeria but west Africa as a whole at that time using a lost wax casting method to make the surface well detailed. The composition of the metal alloys used in the production of the bronze is unique, with an unusually high silver content and is distinct from alloys used in Europe, the Mediterranean or other African bronze centers The Grove Encyclopedia of Materials and Techniques in Art describes them as being "among the most inventive and technically accomplished bronzes ever made cool 4. Nsịbịdị writting have been dated to 400 AD and even earlier The list goes on! Yorubas can't claim to make Lagos a former capital from 1914 -1991 that's a whooping 77 years of being capital. To buttress my point, what was Abuja like before 1991? and What is it like today with just after just 32 years of federal presence? . The fact Anambra tops other SW states in GDP proves that Lagos wasn't made by Yorubas but obvious truth of its Cosmopolitan nature. 2 Likes |
