beey2: Refineries were not killed by PDP. Refineries died because Nigerians...from the leadership to the populace, somehow believe that fuel had to be cheaper than it cost to produce. The result...refineries did not work at a profit, and the whole thing collapsed. The problem with subsidy is that it entails having fuel sold at a cost below the market price 'to help the poor'. Many communist countries used to do the same for a variety of foodstuff...to help the poor. Not only was food distribution running into problems, plus there was no variety and incessant scarcity, and a large black market in food, but corruption and stealing was there live...all because many communist governments were selling food below the actual market price. Many of those countries jettisoned those polices. Today, food supply is ultraimproved. The thing is, and this goes beyond politics...sell things at a profit, and they would always be available. Blaming PDP, APC , and company misses the point. Is there scarcity of food in Nigeria? Are we waiting in long queues to buy bread, rice and so forth? |

It is concerning that the Tinubu government has resorted to purchasing used buses for mass transit purposes, especially considering the N100 billion budget allocated for this project. Investing in used buses raises questions about the quality, safety, and durability of these vehicles, and it suggests a lack of commitment to providing Nigerians with reliable and efficient transportation. https://www.earlkmiller.org/ |
