This change will adversely affect a lot of people. Student's with dependents hoping to get a care visa after schooling won't be able to. Those on PSV must have expertise that are in high demand to stay back. What happens to the dependents of those on 3yr care visa's at renewal?? Too many questions to answer 4 Likes |

Thewritingnerd: Defo lol. Nurses, doctors and other medical personnel are the only immigrant group to come out unscathed from today's announcement. Filipino nurses even got a special mention in parliament 1 Like |

Zahra29: So if a doctor/nurse already working in the UK needs to renew their visa, does this mean their existing dependents would no longer be allowed under their visa? |

Stenvee: Am sure there will still be lots of clarifications later especially on the healthcare route cos there are so many professions on that route apart from doctors and nurses or even care workers. That’s the uk for you, confusion extravaganza. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Thewritingnerd: Unlikely to be applied retrospectively. It will only impact future care visa applicants (from spring 2024) Edit: edited with the caveat that it remains to be seen if the rules will apply to someone on an existing care visa who needs to renew after spring 2024. 3 Likes |
