If u say he focused more on taking d major infrastructure to Nkanu.. no wahala.

Since the 90s, Bikes have been assembled in Nnewi.

You will be ignorant use this as a weak point, when everybody there can afford one, and most likely it is one of the cheapest places to get bikes

Talk another thing.

The LAN has no political leaning. APC, PDP, LP... Once you get their backing combined with your brilliant idea or startup, your chances of success increases by multiple folds. Even since the time of GEJ.

I hope every state in Nigeria can successfully emulate it.

And in Enugu state, how do you navigate death traps? Lexus LX570, shey? grin

You're just dulling my energy by listing bad roads.

List what is developed in Enugu outside that capital.

I love Enugu. I lived there, and i hope to retire there someday, but the capital is just all there is to it.

Enugu does not come close to Anambra in terms of development and infrastructure. Shikena

Chi-boy did nothing bro. You're just clutching at straws by listing one or two road. Do you think Yari or Bello did not construct one or two roads?

U said his sole contribution was that he broke the circle of old politician..planted his boys thus Anambra is miles ahead of Enugu. Peter did the same in Anambra. who sabi Willy Obiano before the APGA primary?

Which development(s) that Obi brought to Anambra & made Anambra to be miles ahead?

I want to know about those developments

The way the NA is handling what they did in Kaduna in disheartening.

No formal memo on what happened. No press statement

No apology. No visit from the COAS to the community

No heads rolling because of this. No news on compensation.

May God not let me be killed like this.

When I tell people this country is a jungle, they usually think one just likes to dwell on the negatives. Where else will something like that happen and there will be no serious consequence ? Zero value for human life.

Those ones have died just like that and everyone expects their survivors to bury their dead & move on.

People are complaining terribly about infrastructure in delta state, yahoo yahoo, prostitution and cultism are still spreading like wild fire day by day but the new governor Mr. Sheriff decided to build and unveil the tallest Christmas tree in Africa when several people don't even have a means to celebrate Christmas.
And you'll tell me there's no money in this country? Especially for Delta with it's big allocation.

State governors are the real thieves. Another reason I spend as much time as I do criticising the central government criticising even my own state government.

Since 2018, I've subscribed to monthly and bi-monthly report of my state government allocations and expenditure, and local government allocations by BudgIT.
Local governments earn a lot especially in the Niger-Delta, plus extra quarterly payments to oil-producing communities; all controlled by the state governors.

If you know how much your immediate past governor and mine spent on overhead cost (cost of running government), you'd just look amusingly at the antics by Tinubu's COP28 critics (who's also as guilty).

Not forgetting ~#23 billion annual security votes each to Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Delta States, all unaccounted for.

Hold Governors accountable too.

......NA is actually annoying. It takes them nothing to admit the wrong, call for probe and punish whoever authorized killing of innocent civilians.

President has given a directive that the situation must be investigated, let's see how it will end. I guess its the reason COAS rushed to the village to personally assess the situation.

NA wants Air Wing but killing civilians accidentally or not shows they ain't ready yet.

....God bless you for this post, ain't surprised your State is thriving, doing well unlike other SS States aside Rivers.

Hold your Governors accountable seems a criminal statement to make on this Platform. I see no reason why Bayelsa shouldn't be rivaling Dubai Infrastructure-wise. A State with 8LGs and bigger Allocations on monthly basis, yet her dwellers are suffering.

Aside from Akwa-Ibom, Delta is collecting more Allocations that rest states of the Federation, yet nothing to show for it. If you combine all SW together, maybe minus Lagos, Delta Allocations will swallow tneir owns combined yet absolutely nothing to show for it.

Idiotic Governor of Edo is avoiding FG Roads like plague, like it ain't his people that'll bear the pain and sufferness. Make we dey hold FG only accountable.

Hold Governors accountable too.

Sometimes holding governors accountable is not as easy as it seems: In fact holding governors accountable and getting them to do the right thing appears to be a mirage in a country like Nigeria and I will tell u why.

1.State Governors are the least tolerant to criticism amongst the tiers of goverment under the executive arm. For example if a civil servant acts as a whistle blower , the state government will use the civil service rules to fish that person out and mark him for serious disciplinary actions. They may even have him arrested on some trump up charges.

2. If a private citizen calls out the state government; immediately the state government will start looking for one ancient law the citizen had broken in the past; his tax records; status of his building's C of O, etc to get back at him and have him smoked.

For point 1, about 2-3 months ago one LGA chairman in Ogun state called out Gov. Dapo Abiodun for witholding funds belonging to LGA's for years running. Guess what happened afterwards? DSS invited the man, detained him and the man was later impeached by councillors sponsored by the governor he called out. And that's someone in the political circle who knew for a fact that the governor withheld the statutory funds not for a noble reason. The annoying thing is even the people whom he was speaking on their behalf didn't even bat an eyelid to try and stand by him for a second.

Talking about the people, some people even defeded Sanwoolu when Doherty letter made the headlines all through last week. I don't know if that's the juju people always talk about that is in action; cos I just can't wrap my head around normal citizen coming up with defence for financial recklessness of political office holders. Some even turn it to d*ck measuring contest trying to compare what my governor spent to what ur governor spent. smh
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 12:47pm On Dec 05, 2023
Say all you want about Buhari (and he's a nepotistic asshole too), but he never failed to pay state and local governments allocations. Every freaking month.

He also paid back state governments backlogs of monies they expended on federal government infrastructure like roads and buildings.

What did state governments do with it? Do you judiciously follow your state government's expenditure? Do you do a year-on-year budget review?

What about supposed government facilities? Are they truly owned by the government? We had to an exposé to stop my state government from parading a certain brewery as government-owned when we had inside information that government had sold 90% stake, just to block wasted allocations?

Despite the heated politics of this last election, has any of your state governors complained about the FG not releasing allocations? Your state governments are thieves! In varying degrees; from conscientious pickpockets to bold-faced pen-robbers.

IPOB/ESN atrocities in the southeast actually provides cover for dare devil military personnel to rain terror on innocent people down there.

Seeing how Dora Akunyili's husband was killed in cold blood on the streets by ESN makes it easy for the military guys to always tag any extra judicial killing they (the military ) carry out as curbing the menace of IPOB/ESN

If we can't and won't hold state governments accountable, there's no justification to hold the FG accountable. They all share from one national purse. Well, almost all.

The corruption going on at state level is humongous. Which single individual at the national level would have survived the #492 billion fraud scandal by Wike and Fubura? Or the controversial #150 billion loan by Udom Emmanuel (who when exposed went behind to get a lesser loan), or Ifeanyi Okowa getting a controversial #100 billion loan? All three to fund failed presidential ambitions.

They are thieves we must hold responsible. I'm focusing on Niger-Delta states deliberately to drive home the point.

I never said there's anything wrong in holding a governor responsible; what I'm saying is that when u do u will surely see the governors deploying all state apparatus to silent that critical voice. We've seen it happen in different parts of the country. Agba Jalingo was arrested, released and rearrested because he accused Ben Ayade of diverting Cross Rivers state funds

This in itself is actually a compliment to the federal government. Asides Buhari's early days of trying to prove a macho point, he didn't mortally haunt his critics. GEJ was same. Tinubu is doing same too - not evidentially hunting his critics, yet.

Since state governments are vindictive bullies when we get in their crosshairs, let's focus all of that angst on the federal government alone.

Erm, how many state governments are paying salaries consistently and the minimum wage too?

There's insecurity? What's the point of security votes to state and LG governments? (Yes, LG governments get security votes (asides FAAC allocations) from the federal purse too which state governors pocket too.)

Tinubu is captaining this sinking ship but be rest assured his crew members are the governors. And they should get the stick too here and on social media when we criticize government.
