Kai, first mistake. Pay after work.
In naija, never and I repete collect money after service. If possible collect 100% upfront, at worse, a very substantial deposit of which balance must be paid before completion.
Never let your self be at the mercy of anyone.
Anyway, mistake had been made. All you can do now is appeal to the man's conscience. Go find him. Going other route eg involving police, lawyer etc will cost you, and considering the amount involve, it is not worth it.

Someone is owing you, and you want to thank and bless him for paying you when the opposite is the case. Who does that? And where is the sense in that?

It‘s an express evidence that he nolonger owe you anything hence the gratitudes and prayer of blessing. Therefore the aim of posting this report here is baseless and meaningless.

Report him to your mutual acquitance to let you know what the problem is. He could genuinely be in a problem or very difficult situation for now or punishing you for an offence you are probably not telling us.

Your job is based on relationships so whatever you invest now in patience and understanding will come with more positive returns in the future. Check my signature for free stuffs!

Most engineers and contractors are all flying demons. The last time he picked your call, what did he say to you concerning your payment? I once worked for a manowing me 350k, he asked me to come to his house to collect my money on getting there, I saw him through the gate but his gateman told me that oga has gone to Japan, I weak like dodo that day. Till date he never paid me shishi.

You are a gentleman indeed.... This approach will give him good reason to delay your payment for a very long time and cause you to stop trusting people. Don't allow him to set you on a brutal path to your fellow humans.

My advice.... Post this same message on Facebook, twitter and other social media of your choice, put all his phone numbers there and beg good spirited Nigerians to help you beg him to pay your money. Tell them never to abuse him.... Come and do Thanksgiving later.

Seems you're a newbie in this field. You should have opted to have your Monday if possible on daily or every two days. I stayed in construction field 4 years and I know what's obtainable. Trust no one.

If I go to work with u u must pay me after the day or latest second day..if u fail to pay me I will leave ur site that second day.

The problem is that the more u save ur money into his hand the more ur chance of getting it get narrower..

If u see 50k collect from the money they u re lucky, count ur loss bro, he won't pay u your money in full I can tell u that.

In labour laws, oral agreements can be binding as well. But apparently we haven't reached the point

it happened to someone I know. After working for the day they refused to pay him, the guy man use karate push all the day works down. When the owner of the job came he held the engineer to pay for the damage.

I am a fellow engineer. He is probably not picking your call because the client disappointed him and he doesn't know how to explain to you . Just calm down and call him after some days if he didn't call

go find the owner of the site..nd report to him...he will not hiv u..but will coerce him to do so..nd may never giv him job again

The first lesson is that you should have a written contract before you start any work, and ensure that a deposit of 20 -50 % is deposited in an escrow account before you start any contract, never trust an oral contract.

I doubt he has the funds to pay you for your work, best appeal to his conscience or call the police.
