Zahra29: I would appreciate if you shed more light on practical steps to this 10 year route... Thanks |

Ticha: So a landlord can evict a tenant in this country for no reason. While I sympathise with those facing landlord/tenant issues, it's good that things are unfolding because the impression that have been created on this thread was that tenants have more rights than landlords in this country. Some even said a landlord cannot evict tenant except he wants to sell the house and I was wondering, my own house. |

There are 2 types of 10-year route Long Residence is a 10 years' continuous lawful residence which leads to ILR The other 10 year route is if family (either by partner, parent or child) is at least settled ehizario2012: |

I think this only applies to in-country applications. I doubt if one can bring their partner applying from outside the country. Zahra29: |

Bourne007: Good point, and I had to double check to be sure, but it appears there is no distinction between applying in or out of country - the requirements are the same. The main requirements for a UK Spouse visa application under a 10-year route are as follows: Both, you and your partner must be 18 or over; You need to prove that your relationship is genuine; You intend to live together permanently in the UK; You must meet the requirement of adequate accommodation;[/b] The applicant must meet the suitability criteria as set out in Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules. There are exception pathways in the application process that could lead to a 10 yr route decision instead of a refusal. |

missjekyll: If this were to be about Nigerian politicians, I'll have laughed in Spanish to this! But this is a country where the system, laws and processes seem to work! So there's a possibility the new pronouncements would be challenged to a logical conclusion! |

Thewritingnerd: Honestly I think they should ban YouTube, X and tiktok for anything UK immigration related, e don over cast! Let information be passed through Nairaland and other such text based forums, at least all those Olosho and yahoo boys who Japa anyhow won't be able to bring up senseless video contents littered with poor grammar! Typing and constructing simple English sentences would chase them off Nairaland I'm sure! Information would be kept sane and controlled that way 3 Likes |

Why should it be banned for immigration-related information? We also see levels of insanity even on text-based platforms like nairaland. Lol, once again, the real problem people have with content creators is that they’re passing information that most Nigerians love to hoard! That’s the real thing pinching most people about content creators. You don’t want “crowd”. Depending on what the actual content is about, Content creators are not the reason for stiffening immigration policies Some nigerian immigrants will purchase fake COS. Others will “run” fake marriages to fake dependents. Those sets of people will now have the audacity to come fix their mouths to blame content creators. THOSE are the people all this anger should be directed at, not content creators. But as usual, Nigerians love to blame baseless things as the cause of a misfortune. I hope content creators never stop. Those “4 easy ways to get xyz visa” and other informative videos you don’t want to “cast” (as the information-blocking person some Nigerians are) go a long way to help someone who needs it. 😊 ehizario2012: 4 Likes |

Yes that's the requirement but for out-country applications, they normally want the applicant to meet the five-year residence requirement. I personally haven't seen or heard spousal visas granted 10-year route outside the UK except for in-country application. We will see how it goes .. . Spring go soon reach .. . oju lo pe si Zahra29: |

Thewritingnerd: Honestly was your Nairaland account hacked? I am quite surprised at this line you towing... Put information in text and cut out the "noise" on video channels! And who told you those content creators are not eh ones selling CoS?? Ukvi needed tiamiyu iscariot before finally announcing their decision, they thrive on public opinion/validation!!! I am surprised at the level of decorum among Zimbabweans, even though they perpetrate the biggest CoS scam! You don't see them twerking on YouTube in the name of "5 ways to beat UKVI controls" We need to sanitize ourselves!!! 1 Like |

I was very clear and careful with my post,: “Depending on what the actual content is about, Content creators are not the reason for stiffening immigration policies” I clearly said content creators posting USEFUL INFORMATION. So all the other things you’re saying, I don’t know where you saw them from in my text. And no, my account was not hacked. 🙂 ehizario2012: |

Ticha: Thank you, they didn’t state what the grounds for possession are. everything about the issues that happened are documented, I have pictures, videos and chats. I didn’t contact the agent because I felt it was unnecessary but I immediately let them know when the police was here. I will spend a lot of money moving out of the apartment, getting a truck, taking leave days to pack up my things as well as looking for somewhere with the same amount of rent. |

iyatrustee: She doesn’t frustrate me anymore, that ended a couple of weeks back after I stood my ground and refused to be bullied. Looking for an apartment is a whole lot of stress also rents are higher than it was when I moved in. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goodenoch: 4:44pm On Dec 07, 2023 |
Strata1716: What if she does something to harm you? Physically or by telling another lie to police or other services to implicate you? I hear what you're saying about the stress of moving out but I honestly believe that doing so is the best and safest option for you in the circumstances, and the landlord is being reasonable as well - they don't want to risk further escalations in their property. As Ticha has said, you can challenge the notice, but it'll likely cost a substantial amount of time and effort that's best channeled doing the things she said - asking for an extension and seeking a good reference etc. 2 Likes |

profemebee:Increasing proof of funds makes no difference Unless the change of policies include confirming students actually have a certain portion of the fees available to the schools as payment eg. 1st semester paid. Showing proof of funds doesn't mean you actually have the funds available Students in Canada are a good percentage of asylum seekers in CA |
