You don't trust Nigerian doctors, yet you want her to go to another hospital where another Nigerian doc would be waiting for her.
You well so?
Is like your brain is paining you, if you never know your survival here is just by chance.
If she visits another hospital she can start connecting dots to know her best options

I remember how happy I was when I found out I was pregnant!. I hurriedly went and registered for antenantal and I carry out my first Ultrasound same time and it shows 6weeks gestational age which was accurate based on my calculation of my LMP.

After 2weeks and some days, I started having light bleeding and I rush to the hospital to know what was wrong because I try to eat healthy and also try not to stress myself so what is happening?!!. The nurse i met ask me to go for another Scan to be sure the baby is Ok. I went for the scan and that was how my world came crumbling down on me.

Based on the scan result, my baby stopped growing at week 6, I am already 9weeks gone while my baby is still measuring 6weeks just like the first scan I had, and BLIGHTED OVUM was written as the cause. After 2 day, I went to another diagnosis center and was advice to evacuate because I have missed abortion.

I did the D&C a week later and it was painful because I wasn't given any analgesic... My problem right now is that I have been bleeding since the D&C and it comes with cramps at time. The first 2 days, the bleeding was light but now its looking like my normal period bleeding with little blood clot.

Before you advice me to go to the hospital, I have... The Doctor wants to observe me for a week and then give me injection to stop the bleeding but am feeling is not proper, the bleeding should stop by itself if its just ordinary bleeding, why injecting me to stop it

I will be going to the hospital tomorrow to take the injection, pls I want to know if that is the right step to take and has anyone had same experience?

Was it a gynaecologist you met?

You need to go back and undergo examination preferably under mild sedation.
You most likely still have retained fetal product hence the bleeding.

Having clots indicate that the bleeding is heavy.Don't risk your life and suffer from haemorrhagic shock due to excessive blood loss.

If a D & C is well done without retained products, only mild bleeding( spotting) should take place which resolves in few days.

You need a thorough gynaecological examination!
Possible. But a good pelvic scan would be more productive

The scan said there's intrauterine pregnancy. Why would you be diagnosing an ectopic gestation? undecided
Ok
Re: My D&C Experience.... Pls Advice Me by Bluette(f): 10:50pm On Dec 07, 2023
You are going to bleed for 2-3weeks (dependent on your body). That's why the doctor is observing you. The first week will surely be heavy with blood clots. But at the end of week 1, the blood should start reducing.
Also, try not to do strenuous exercise or work, it pushes out more blood.
Be calm, eat well, drink alot of fluids, stay away from sugar/sugary drinks, eat fruits and rest well.
If you are feeling faint or not be able to breathe well consult your doctor quickly. The loss of a foetus should not deter you. I advise you wait for some months and recover well before you try again. Also do necessary fertility tests, eat healthily, treat yourself of malaria before you try again, take folic acids everyday, and try to eat blood boosting meals. If you are weighty, try exercising and more importantly, pray and serve Jesus genuinely. Be good

I think if you can endure the cramping pains, the bleeding will stop naturally

Those cramping pains are as a result of the bloods struggling to come out from clothed blood to normal blood flow

But if it becomes life threatening then you will definitely need the injection

The D&C wasn't done properly, that's why you're still bleeding. They're suppose to give you some drugs to flush out everything. It's the remaining particles in there that's coming out like small lump.

If I may ask, while you were six weeks gone, were you having s3x with your husband during those period?

Probably you should do a repeat scan.
The doctor said I can't carry out any scan until 2week later. And today is making it just one weeek

Is the blood clotted?
How many pad per day do you use?
How many days now bleeding?

From my experience (not a medical advice)
Take a scan to establish that the uterus isn't ruptured.

Don't take the injection, the side effects are dire

The bleeding will stop 2 weeks ma ( I know, it's tiring)

Use analgesic and antibiotic for infections.

Were you given misoprostol after the procedure?

I use 1 pad per day and I have been bleeding for a week now...... She inserted some little tablets in my V after the D&C procedure, I don't know if that is the misoprostol

pls viiisit another Hosp. D& C is old fashioned and I wonder why any doctor will want to go that route in d first place.
I was even scared of it, I refuse doing it until the head doctor had to collect my husband's number to inform him that I am not cooperating with them

This is as simple as it can get na:you go for a post evacuation ultrasound scan.
If all the products have been removed the scan will say so and it would mean it's just something you need to stop the bleed cause it's blood.
If on the other hand there were still some products not removed that is causing the continued bleed, then you have to go for another evacuation, giving you an injection or drug to stop bleeding caused by incomplete evacuation is just papering over the cracks, asides putting your health in jeopardy.
If bleeding doesn't stop you don't even need the hospital say so,you can do the scan yourself somewhere and take the result to the doctor.
Waiting one week is as funny as it gets, unless what you feel is blood is not actually that.
Besides, you ain't supposed to feel cramp like pain post D&C.Mild pain after, yes, but definitely not that debilitating stomach cramps.
She insisted I wait 2 weeks b4 going for now. And I have being bleeding for a week now

so sorry, the experience may be frustrating but I suspect the foetus was not properly evacuated. There may still be some parts inside and that is why you still bleed and also blood cloth
I pray there isn't oooooo, i can't go through that D&C process again

I week is still OK.
Monitor for another week.

The tablet must be misoprostol, you should have asked to be sure.

I don't recommend a general hospital in ogun state. Ogun health is messed up.

1 pad per day is OK.

Monitor for 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks it should reduce to spotting.

Again, experience differs.

A D&C I experienced made the lady to bleed for almost 3 weeks. She was changing pads like 8 times daily. I'm not joking o. It came with cramps and some other stomach troubles that was later diagnosed to be pelvic inflammatory disease PID. We went for re-evacuation, the bleeding didn't stop.

Last last the bleeding stopped after almost 3 weeks

Don't take the injection, the bleeding will stop.

Wow

It could be it wasn't thoroughly evacuated. Please don't take the injection yet. Rather go for another scan in order to ascertain the actual cause of the bleeding.

I wish you speedy recovery.

I suspect a case of INCOMPLETE EVACUATION,hence the bleeding continued!
But hey,U were too much in a hurry to have undergone a D&C based on a scan report!
U would have allowed the pregnant progress!

I know of a lady who bled all through her pregnancy. A renowned gynaecologist advised her to undergo a D&C because the baby would be badly deformed if she decided to carry the pregnancy to term.
She refused and according to her, kept trusting God for a healthy baby.
She gave birth to a complete and wholesome bouncing baby boy.
They named him, Amazing.
Today, the boy,is now a medical doctor.
Dr. Amazing.
This is a true life story.

Not that I'm discouraging from adhering to a doctor's advice but always pray and seek God's own directive.

Back to your case!
U need a strong dosage of antibiotics and probably a second evacuation if need be.

I wish you a set of twins on your next try.
God be with you.

Shalom🙏

This post reeks of ignorance and quackery.
No doctor would tell you to abort a baby that it would be disfigured if birthed. I don't know how Nigerians got those stories from
And antibiotics is not the cure here
