My friends that we started playing basketball are national players. I opted for school and today I'm a chemical engineer.
Some of the are lamenting there if they know they'd have combine game with school.
I'd have behave like them if not that my late dad is a military officer. You know how they discipline their children.

Nigeria is not the right country to devote all ur interest in basketball and 5'+ is still short compared to most modern basketball stars

Bone growth which is the determinant of how tall or short you become stops at around 19 to 24years. Do not worry over physical nature. Behavioural, emotional and social dispositions should be more of a concern to you

I am 6'3 and I am proud of it, I move around with confidence and dress simple but anything I wear fits in, and i build myself into having the right body shape to fit the height.

Growing up, I had one bros close to me that's tall and people call him "dogo" , I didn't want to be called that, so I didn't want to be tall. Now i'm a bit taller than the guy, and now I can only thank God for giving me height. Height is everything.

In the case of height, it will be nigh impossible to get a lot of things off-the-shelf if you're either too tall or too short, from clothes to shoes to beds/mattresses to things we all take for granted like toilet seats and shower heads!

Most things need to be specially made/bespoke, for you to enjoy them.

Still, too tall is waaaay better than being a dwarf or hobbit type of person.

However, it's the health issues that are scary. There's a reason why most really old people are "little, old men" or "little old ladies".

As a person of average income and average daily activity, it's better to have a compact body than too long or too short. The extremes both have their issues.

I'm 5-11 and sometimes, as I hit middle age, I wish I was smaller than I am. Young people enjoying their height, wait till you hit 50 and above......and pray you don't gain any weight.

My bad! Wanted to say the Nigerian Air force doesn't accept tall people for training as pilots.

Being tall is my biggest flex, I am 6”1, it gives me confident and courage, before you go wan body me, you go observe well, girls naturally love tall boys, boys as well may often compliment you, especially if you are good at a particular sport, turn your insecurities to strength

Because of how I carry and compose my self people often conclude I am some bold, rugged, and confident fella even before they say hi to me

The disadvantage of being tall to me however is that several or countless times I don nod doorframes because i miscalculated
