Same here. I submitted in vfs Abuja around that time and got the same message you got around the same 5th of December. Since then they’ve been quiet. I’ve called and emailed and done everything but they just keep saying it’s being processed. I don’t think it’s this slow for people that submitted in Lagos 🤔

Sireemmy5555:
Hello house. I submitted my passport at Vfs Abuja for visa stamp on the 30th November 2023. I got news on the 5th of December it is under processing but still no news yet. And I have a deadline on the 15th of December to submit my visa stamp so I can register my course or apply for deferral. My worry is my program next intake is January 2025 and I don’t know if I can still use the visa to travel if I defer the admission.

I’m just happy I’ve found someone with a similar experience. I thought my case was Percuilar and something was wrong. I have till 20th to update my school. I submitted since 27th of November. I don’t understand what exactly the issue is with affixing a visa to a passport page. This Canada can be so dramatic sometimes

I am hoping this week comes with good news. People I know tell me Abuja is fast and 3 days tops you get your passport back. Now it is just the opposite.

This is making me so sad as I’m reading it. This is another evidence that we need capital punishment for these “travel agents and consultants”. Firing squad or electric chair. It’s also proof that Nigerians are 80% of the problem of this country, the leaders are just 10%. I really hope you find strength and start the process afresh. If you really want to relocate you’ll find a way especially as a student by God’s grace. It’s not your fault, it’s the agent’s. Please don’t blame yourself and just start afresh with all the info you get here
opebajo11:

Thanks for the feedback. I have been so down since since I noticed the game the agent has Ben playing, just like my face was covered. I decided to verify the acceptance letter that he sent me and I was shocked, the response I got from school which I have attached below.

The issue now is that I don’t even have an idea the information he used for visa application, that is if he even applied, but I went for biometrics.

I do not know what to do if to go ahead and start all over again. Please help

I think travel expenses have to also be added to the POF but yes you should show LE for two years

Please I need some information.

For someone going for two years program, does he/she need to show entire 2years living expenses amount which is 41k?

Lastly, Applicant is showing his Financials and a that of Co-sponsor

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:06pm On Dec 10, 2023
Visa officers typically evaluate each application on its own merits, considering factors such as the purpose of the visit, ties to the home country, financial stability, and other relevant details.
For study permits, the primary applicant (the person intending to study) must meet the eligibility criteria, including acceptance to a designated learning institution, proving financial capacity, and demonstrating ties to their home country.
For SOWP, the spouse or common-law partner may be eligible to work in Canada while the other person studies, but again, the work permit application is evaluated based on individual eligibility, including proof of the relationship, the student's enrollment, and other requirements.
It should be the family's decision!
I hope this helps.

Hello House!

Wife just got an admission for September, 2024. The husband will be applying for SOWP. Can they both apply now? Won't it be too early to apply for thier visas?

Also, it is advisable for them to apply together or for the wife to apply first?

If the wife decides to apply first and she gets her study visa approved, can the husband apply for SOWP immediately while the wife is still in Nigeria?

Thank you.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:10pm On Dec 10, 2023
Your chance of getting admission to Holland College is still open. If you meet the minimum requirement, you can still proceed with the application. Meeting the minimum requirements typically means that you possess the necessary qualifications and credentials to be considered for admission to the college.

I have followed through on your thread It seems the agent may have used a fake Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for the visa application; it is a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL). This can result in a five-year ban. My advice for you is to try to get access to your IRCC portal for an update; they must have responded, but since you don't have access to your portal, the agent ghosted you. Alternatively, order your GCMS note.

How to link your IRCC portal

1. Follow the steps to sign into your online account or create a new one.
2. In your account, under “View the applications you submitted," click on “Add (link) your application to your account to check your status”.
3. Enter the information exactly as you did on your original application. If you made updates after you applied, enter the most recent information.

Although the date is January 1, I’ll advise you just comply to save you the issue of stories. Also, the more the money, the better for your application.

When a primary applicant is going for 2 year program, during my application submission does he need to show proof of funds covering the entire two years living expenses or just for the first one year.

The primary applicant is showing his bank Statements and a  cousin Co-sponsor.

I'm abit confused on this

It's typically advisable to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to cover the entire duration of your program. This helps establish that you can financially support yourself during your studies without becoming a burden on the host country's social assistance programs.
I hope the co-sponsor is accompanying the applicant. If a co-sponsor is used and that co-sponsor is not accompanying the primary applicant and dependent, it might raise questions during the visa application process. Visa officers typically want to see a clear and direct relationship between the sponsor and the individuals for whom they are providing financial support. If the co-sponsor is not traveling with the family or dependents, the authorities may seek additional clarification on the nature of the sponsorship and the reasons for it.

I understand that you're seeking an explanation for the reason your study permit application was refused. The refusal letter stated that "The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay based on the details you provided in your application".

To address this concern in your reapplication, it's important to clearly demonstrate that your intention is to study in Canada temporarily and that you have a solid plan for your studies. You can do this by providing additional supporting documents such as an acceptance letter from the educational institution, a detailed study plan, and any relevant information about your future career goals.

It's also crucial to ensure that all the information you provide in your application is accurate, consistent, and aligns with the purpose of a temporary stay. If there were any discrepancies or missing information in your previous application, make sure to address those in your new application and provide a clear explanation in your Letter of Explanation (LOE).

More importantly, showcasing your previous education or current work experience in your application is crucial to solidify your purpose of visit, especially when applying for a study permit. By demonstrating how your course of study aligns with your educational background or professional experience, you can provide a strong rationale for your temporary stay in Canada.

When preparing your application, make sure to highlight the relevance of your previous education or work experience to the program you wish to pursue in Canada. Show how your past academic or professional achievements have equipped you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your chosen field of study.

Attaching supporting documents such as academic transcripts, diplomas, or employment certificates can further enhance your application. These documents serve as tangible evidence of your qualifications and demonstrate your commitment to furthering your education in Canada.

I hope this helps, Best of luck with your study permit reapplication! 🍀✨.

It will end in praise

Thank you for your response, boss. I apologize for the delayed in acknowledging your comment. I have not been online recently.

The application was on behalf of a friend, not for myself. Despite not having seen her SOP, she submitted all other required documents. These include a study leave with pay, curriculum vitae (CV), and letters of introduction and recommendation. She, being an HR officer, secured admission for a Human Resources course in Canada so I don’t understand what the VO is saying. She is waiting for Notes sha

This could mean that you did not make it apparent in your information that you intended to temporarily study in Canada.
Some ways to improve your reapplication:
1. Examine your application again: Examine the details you submitted in your original application with great care. Verify that every detail is true and in line with the objectives of the temporary research permission.
2. A legitimate letter of admission from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI) should be included. This should include a clear description of your study course's curriculum, duration, and start and finish dates.
3. Proof of financial support: Demonstrate that you have the money necessary to pay for your living expenses, tuition, and any other charges you may incur while visiting Canada.
4. Home ties: Showing that you have close links to your home country can help your application stand out. Proof of family, property, or work may be included in this. This might support your claim to the immigration officer that you plan to finish your education and then return home.
Okay boss. Thank. I will share this with her

The Co-sponsor is not traveling with the primary applicant .

He's a cousin.

The co-sponsor paid a semester tuition fee and also intends to transfer 5k dollars to the primary applicant, so he could invest in gic.
