Please gurus in the house. Can I provide my sibling bank statement as my POF? She will be my sponsor. Is it possible? Or does she have to send it to my account? Please I need advice.

I totally get your concern about using your sibling's bank statement as proof of funds (POF) for your application. As an immigration expert, I can offer some precise advice based on your situation.

Typically, when using a sponsor's bank statement as POF, it's important to show a clear and documented transfer of funds from your sponsor's account to your own account. This helps establish that the funds are available to you for your studies.

It would be a good idea to have your sibling transfer the required living expenses funds to your own account and also present her own statement as the sponsor. This way, you can provide evidence of the transfer, ensuring that the funds are clearly documented and traceable.

Good luck with your application! 🤞✨

Good questions- For Holland, if it’s DLI accredited school then you should be fine even if nobody is talking about it. If you’re a qualified candidate for admission you’ll definitely get it.
If it doesn’t hurt your pocket or you want to be very sure you’ll get something nice for the Fall semester, in my humble opinion I’ll say apply to the 4th school.. you really never can tell.

Thank you so much for your response. It's DLI approved with PGWP in Prince Edward province. I'll also follow your advice to apply for the 4th school. God bless
I hope this helps

Application doesn’t always guarantee admission. You should have checked if the schools are DLI before making applications.
However, if you’re looking to make application to any schools, check for schools in the particular province you’re going to on google. Or better still, see a list here: https://www.nairaland.com/7728526/20-canadian-colleges-apply-average

Thank you my Oga. GOD BLESS

Your chance of getting admission to Holland College is still open. If you meet the minimum requirement, you can still proceed with the application. Meeting the minimum requirements typically means that you possess the necessary qualifications and credentials to be considered for admission to the college.

Okay sir. Thank you. I'll follow your advice.

Hi Gurus in the house,

My resumption date is Jan 8, 2024, and I haven't even gotten any update from IRCC regarding my application. Heck, it still hasn't even started eligibility check despite biometrics and upfront medicals done (none of which have been updated so far). I submitted it on 18 of October and this is my 2nd application.

Gotta get you guys advice/suggestions here. I am thinking of deferring to May 2024 if I don't get any response from IRCC by the end of the week. My question is should my school provide a new admission letter with a resumption date of May 2024, can I upload it as a webform to my existing application, would it be considered by the VOs?

What would be the best course of action in my scenario? Abeg time no de again

I think you should email them... Write a strong and compassionate email, although the time frame is 10 weeks now ur application would only be 10 weeks in January.

IRCC is just locooo, to be honest, my friend applied on the 20th OCT and got PPR on the 20th NOV.
I applied on the 25th OCT eligibility started on 9th Nov, but till now nothing...

Please when did Canada use to approve Proof of Funds.....is it before biometrics or after biometrics?

In general, the approval of Proof of Funds (POF) for Canadian visa applications usually happens after the biometrics process. Biometrics is typically one of the initial steps in the visa application process, where your fingerprints and photo are taken. After that, the immigration authorities will review your application, including the POF documentation, to assess your financial eligibility. So, it's usually after the biometrics stage. Hope that helps! 🇨🇦✨

Hi people, I need clarification on a topic please.

For someone who had previously studied in Canada and had PGWP whose spouse (newly-wedded) wants to go to Canada on Study Visa. Is it possible to get SOWP for the person who has previously studied?

Absolutely, it is possible for the spouse of someone who previously studied in Canada and had a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) to apply for a Study Permit as well. The spouse can apply for an Open Work Permit, also known as a Spouse or Common-Law Partner Work Permit (SOWP). This allows them to work in Canada while their partner is studying. It's a great opportunity for both of them to be in Canada together. Just make sure to check the specific eligibility requirements and application process for the SOWP. Good luck to your newly-wedded spouse on their study visa application! 🇨🇦✨

Good morning. I want to begin my student visa application and hopefully after I get my visa we will then do that of my husband. But I have a few questions and I will appreciate answers.
1. While filling my own form on the website should I indicate I am applying with my spouse or not. (We dont want to apply together at once. But after I get my visa he will then apply). So should my answer be yes or no
2. I am using my gtbank for proof of fund. I will the bank statement be done. Gtbank can send directly to the embassy but I saw that there is a space where I have to upload the bank statement. How do I go about it?
3. After getting my visa and then we begin my husbands application, we will still be using my own bank account for proof of fund right? Will they expect that both my proof of fund and his proof of fund will be in the account even after getting my own visa?

I'm here to help answer your questions about your student visa application and your husband's application. Let's dive right in:

1. When filling out your own application form, you don't need to indicate that you are applying with your spouse. In fact, it can actually be beneficial to mention that your husband will be staying back as a strong tie to your home country. This shows that you have a solid reason to return after your studies. It's all about showcasing your intentions and ties to your home country.

2. If GTBank can send the bank statement directly to the embassy, that's great! You can select the option to upload the bank statement on the application portal alongside with your supporting proof of funds documents, but make sure to mention in your explanation letter you’ve attached a copy of the mybank statement certificate with your application. This way, the embassy will be aware of the arrangement.

3. After you receive your visa and begin your husband's application, it's generally expected that you will still use your own bank account for proof of funds. However, it's always a good idea if your husband can also provide additional documentation or proof of funds in his name as well. Be sure to provide all the necessary information and documentation to support his application.

Good luck with your applications! 🤞✨

Good morning house, please must it be pay slip ? Can’t I use statement of account to show I have been working? and how many months is required.
It is not mandatory to use payslip...
You can use the letter of employment from your place of work that states your position and the income/salary that corresponds with funds in atleast 4 months statement of account..

My dear use your payslips...
if not they would not belive you are working. make sure the match with your personal bank statement, so they know you are not genuine.

Good afternoon everyone,

I’m about to submit my visa application but I’m stuck on POF decision. My Uncle is my sponsor and he will be transferring the amount to my account. What are the things you think I’ll need to submit apart from my statement of account and his own?

NB: He’s transferring the money from his company’s account not from his personal account, but long before now he used to pay for my school fees with a transfer from the same (his) company. Also over 4 years now he’s been sending me monthly allowance (like airtime token), the amount he sent a to my account is 10K monthly. What would you advise? Thank you so much.

Hello House. Trust everyone is doing great. I've got some questions:

1. What is the average student visa processing time?

2. My spouse recently secured an admission for September, 2024. Can we start our application now?

3. If we start now, won't our application experience undue delay?

Thank you.

Hey there! Great to hear from you. I can definitely help answer your questions:

1. The average processing time for a student visa can vary depending on several factors, such as the country you're applying from and the specific circumstances of your application. It's best to check with the IRCC for the most up-to-date information on processing times.

2. That's awesome news that your spouse secured an admission for September 2024! Starting your application now is a good idea because it gives you plenty of time to gather all the necessary documents and complete the application process. It's always better to start early to avoid any last-minute rush.

3. Starting your application now shouldn't cause any undue delay. In fact, it can actually help ensure that you have enough time to complete all the necessary steps and submit a strong application. Just make sure to follow the application guidelines and submit all the required documents within the given timelines.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!. 😊🌟

Do I need to show a picture of my fish pond??
As I have done power of attorney and affidavit of facts for my landed property.
Do I need to show evidence of the fish pond?

Your swift response would be highly appreciated.

When explaining the funds in your letter of explanation, you can mention that your sponsor received a substantial amount from an investment company, which appeared as a credit alert on his statement. You can clarify that this amount was intended as an investment and it was liquidated for the sole purpose of your education and not a loan for personal use. It's important to provide as much detail as possible and emphasize the purpose of the funds in supporting your study.

While I can't guarantee visa approval, I have seen similar scenarios where applicants successfully explained the source of their funds in their letters of explanation. Just make sure to be transparent and provide any supporting documentation or evidence that can validate the legitimacy of the funds. Remember, being honest and clear in your explanation is key. Good luck with your application, and let me know if you need any more help! 🤞✨

Good evening all,

I have a sponsor who can foot all the expense for my schooling and personal expenses too. Do I need to have up to 10k$ CAD in my account before applying.

That's great news that you have a sponsor who can cover all your expenses. The specific amount of funds you need in your account may vary depending on the cost of the program. It's always a good idea to have enough funds to show that you can support yourself during your studies.

Having a substantial amount in your account can demonstrate your ability to cover any miscellaneous expenses you might incur in Canada and also act your personal financial establishment in your home country.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask here! 😊🌟
