Ebdumi: Hey ๐ค If you don't get or use payslip in your organisation then you can use your bank statement as evidence but it will work only if YOUR SALARY IS BEING PAID DIRECTLY INTO YOUR ACCOUNT....Many organisation pays directly into accounts . By the way ...How are you so certain that the CO (consular officer) will ask you this particular document ? Are you not going for F1 visa ? Best Wishes ๐ |

SammySuave: Hey ๐ค Stop disturbing yourself unnecessarily . You cannot do any magic again by joining any group except if that group want to SCAM you OR you buy another MRV. The only avenue for you to get a quicker or nearer date is via Emergency Request and you don't have the option again ๐ YOUR BEST OPTIONS ================= 1. Buy another MRV if you are really determine to meet up with your January 5th resumption. 2. Defer your admission to Summer/Fall 2024 and get a new Form I 20, then attend your February 1st interview with the new I 20. 3. Ask your school to issue a late resumption letter to you officially , the letter will state that you will be arriving in March 2024. If your school agrees , print out the letter and insert it in your I 20, and attend your interview of February with your current I 20 . ( This is a gamble and it's risky ). The ball has rolled into your court . Best Wishes ๐ 1 Like |

Ebdumi: Hey ๐ค Concentrate the more on your DS 160 information and train yourself verbally to align what you will be telling the CO with your DS 160. 75% of the time , COs will not look at your documents , he or she asks you the first and second question s while looking at your DS 160 in front of him or her . Naturally and especially for Bsc and MSc Applicants, even with full scholarships, PROOF OF FUNDS AND PROOF OF TIES as well as GENUINE INTENTION are the three bombs ๐ they use to decide your visa fate . What is the criteria for booking an Emergency Appointment in Abuja? I know I need all my application details but Iโve been hearing cases of rejected appointment rescheduling in Abuja. My school resumes 8th Jan and I want to reschedule my date now. |

chimax1: Hey ๐ค If you have not been rejected an F1 within the last 6 Months (according to the embassy policy) then your emergency appointment as a first timer will be granted . Don't rely on what you are hearing , everyone knows that the population of applicants going to Abuja are lesser than the Lagos Applicants, therefore , Abuja will grant your EA if you do the needful. If you still have the emergency option in your CGI portal and you have not cancelled an appointment before , and you have a longer months ahead of your resumption, you may go ahead and cancel Lagos and pick Abuja. 1. Your SEVIS payment receipt with your I 20 are the two documents the embassy requires for emergency booking . Best Wishes ๐ |

Appointment booked on Friday 8th December for 1st February 2024. Regular reschedule on Saturday 9th December 2023. Was just lucky to see 12th available. Lagos Consulate First F-1 application 12th December 2023 โ Denied (40k funds. COA - 28k) No scholarship 4 mins approx. VO: Please come forward VO: Good morning M: Good morning, how's work? VO: It's good VO: Pass me your passport and I-20 please VO: Types a while... Looks at I-20... Who's sponsoring your education? M: said it - Elder sister VO: What does she do? M: She's a senior Medical D of Surgery at xx. VO: How many siblings do you have? M: I have 3 siblings, 2 males and a female. VO: Nodded as though in approval. VO: Ever traveled to any other country? M: No, I've only been to the USA in 2018 for a competition with my coursemates and our Professor and returned after 4 days to complete my BSc. VO: Types for long, 2 mins delay. VO: Unfortunately, at this time, you do not qualify for a visa. This letter will explain the reason. Returns passport and I-20 with blue 221G. M: Picked my documents and walked away. No questions asked! Probably a funding gap issue but seen someone with 32k COA and 32k funds with no other funding approved. Guess it just depends on the VO. This particular VO wasn't looking at no one's face and wasn't as friendly as the others. 5 students denied prior. 1 student granted. I'd recommend to try get funding - scholarships, GA, GTA, GRA or tuition waivers. Denials were flying like paper including for B1/B2. 1 Like |

Reasons why US Visa Officer Refused your Visa Valid Reasons for your sponsorship Have a cogent reason why your sponsor is sponsoring you. If not your parents. then anybody else should have a valued reason for sponsoring you not because for example, he saw value in me, my mother helped her when she was small. Reasons like I was amongst the best staff in the office so selected for sponsorship (with a company letter to back it up). Good Example => my uncle in oil and gas, real estate, shipping, export sponsors each member of the family every two years for a masters abroad and its my turn as part of his personal contribution to the family (you are showing continuity). Things like that. not based on emotions. Know the tiniest Details about your school Before presenting yourself at the American Embassy, ensure you've read on what makes the school attractive and tell the Visa Officer this is why you're deciding to pitch with the school despite receiving offers from other institutions. Read on list of professors that will be teaching you and the courses to be taught, Read on an executive summary of the course you intend to study. Read and if possible cram and prepare well. Read on everything you put when filling your DS-160 form. Continue here https://nicescholarship.com/useful-tips-to-help-you-succeed-at-the-american-embassy-2024/ 3 Likes |

mayford: Hmm Maybe you just want to try your luck Some info for everyone else who is applying for school According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the annual mean wage for a full-time wage or salary worker in the United States is $53,490 per year or $1,028 per week (for a 40-hour work week) . This figure is before tax . Those visa officers interviewing you and other staff working at consulate probably earn less than this . Their salaries are public knowledge The reason I share this is to emphaisize to nigerian applicants to get funding. What some of you post here is equivalent and more than average US salary before tax. The probability for any of you to afford these fees is low, even for residents in the US who pay lower fees colllege education is a huge expense. They themselves look for funding or get cheaper community colleges 3 Likes |

Victor6677889: Hey ๐ค Yes it make sense if the bachelor's degree you are going for is based on genuine intention. For example , may be your office or place of work needs you to have a NEW DEGREE in a particular area . Although , if your age is above 25, you will have to convince the CO (consular officer) your reason of going for this particular degree at this time and explain your gap years . SUGGESTION ; 1. If the Bachelor's degree you are going for is genuine and based on change of career and you can proof to the CO (Consular Officer) your financial capability then GO AHEAD . 2. If your intention is not genuine but you just feel like using the option to visit America , and you are above the age of 25.... Well i will advice that you apply for short GRADUATE CERTIFICATE course with your OND or HND. 3. You may as well opt for B1/B2 (Visiting visa) and look out for a good conference or seminar . Please ! Do everything in an appropriate and legal ways . Best Wishes ๐ |

chimax1: Hey ๐ค I have forgotten your original question (s) but let me use my psychology. Were you the one whose SEVIS payment was sent through USPS ? Have you email SEVIS with the snap picture of the coupon the payer sent to you ? Anyways ...Let's even accept that everything has not materialized and your Host - University goes on holiday .... 1. Send an email to SEVIS ...I think you can also call SEVIS and narrate this ordeal . 2. Call or communicate with the payer . He or she can go back to the payment point and re verify what is happening. 3. Don't worry about school going on holiday or embassy going on holiday . WORK ON THE SEVIS FIRST .. you will get your emergency Appointment if you are a 1st timer don't worry 4. I want to think that the Xmas and New Year holidays won't denied prospective F1 visa applicants their emergency Appointment rights because the US embassy knows about large population of January resumptions . Be positive and accept that God is preparing you for your appropriate time of favour and success . IF EVERYTHING WAS QUICK AND YOUR VISA HAD BEEN DENIED , WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE ? Victor6677889: Hey ๐ค Your genuine intention will give you the edge to speak with the VO naturally but you will still have to convince the CO beyond reasonable doubts why you re opting for the Bsc . Even if you have full scholarship offer , it doesn't give you any edge . CO (consular officer) are trained only to look out for honesty and genuine intention . Work on your DS 160 anyways . Be certain that you input reasonable information therein . Another aspect is verbally . Open your mouth and tell the VO with confidence your genuine reasons . Best Wishes ๐ 1 Like |

Visa approved. Location: Abuja. 1st attempt: Denied in Lagos, Masterโs in Health Services Research..., University of Minnesota, partial funding/GTA 9k, COA: 46K. 2nd attempt: Program: Masterโs in Applied Economics. School: Illinois State University. COA: $38k. Graduate assistantship: $22k. Deficit: $16k. First, I want to thank the Almighty God for everything he has done. Special shout out to amazing personalities on this journey, @Fall2021 for helping me go through the DS160 form and for the encouragement on every step despite her tight schedule and @Abacinoo007. God bless you guys real good. They are testament that you cant go wrong with God on your side and having guides like them from my school application to visa approval has been nothing short of grace. Abeg, follow who know road. And to everyone who has posted transcripts in the past to encourage people going through hard times due to delay(s). Thank you and God bless you all for guiding us with your testimonies. The VO had denied about 4 persons before me. Heart pounding, confusion almost setting in cos some of those guys had funding with solid sponsors based on the audible conversation with the VO. I just started praying in Tongues. You know the drill for those who have been to the embassy before. VO: Good morning. Me: Good morning. VO: Please pass me your documents. Me: Here is it, please. VO: what course are you going to study? Me: I am going to study for a postgraduate degree in Applied Economics at Illinois State University VO: Oh great (Looking at my DS160 form), what did you study for your first degree? Me: Economics. VO: what year did you finish? Me: 2011. VO: Why this course? Me: The Applied Economics program differs from the traditional Economics which is focused on theory but rather focuses on data analysis, data interpretation, and data optimization which aligns with what I currently do and provides the opportunity for career advancement in attaining a Senior Research Management Position. If you look through my details, you will see that my career growth has been somewhat stagnant hence the need for this course. VO: where do you work? Me: I currently work as * * Associate with **** organization on a U.S.-funded project where I handle research and data analysis. VO: Are you married? Me: Yes. VO: You have a child? Me: Yes, please. VO: I see you have a total cost of 38k, how do you intend to pay? Me: Yeah, thank you. Aside from the full tuition waiver and GRA, I will be covering the deficit from my savings and funds in my wifeโs account. We have an inherited hotel business, and she also works as a Lead on a U.S.-funded project. VO: what will you be doing after your study? Me: I will be returning to seek a Senior Research Management position in my line of work. VO: Okay. Your application looks good. I will be approving your visa. He then issued me a white paper. I did not hear anything else. WHO DID IT? JESUS! Oh my God, Wow! Please keep faith. 12 Likes |

mayford: Hey ๐ค I don't usually respond to F1 transcripts because there are many FAKE TRANSCRIPTS ON NAIRALAND FOR ADVERTISEMENT PURPOSES ... But i am responding to yours because.. 1. You are genuine . 2. No one has given you a near match advice . 3. I don't want you to repeat same error .. 1. Don't apply for MBA again . MBA, Mass Communication , any program that end with studies ie.... International Studies etc are counted in the USA as ; Personally Beneficial programs . There re lot of explanation on this but there is no space ....apply for MBA again if your employer is sending you over for it . 2. Are you sure you did not over-stay your B1/B2 visa when you and your department visited America the last time ? The CO (consular officer ) was supposed to ask you ...HAVE YOU TRAVELED OUT OF NIGERIA B4 ? But instead , she asked you .. EVER TRAVELED TO ANY OTHER COUNTRY ? 3. I don't know your age ranges but why is your elder sister sponsoring you for an MBA ? Was she the one who has been responsible for your academic upkeep right from the onset ? Why not MSc instead of MBA ? MBA are even for professional people (COs thinking ). 4. At the end of your transcripts , you were giving advice that future applicants should get fundings , tuition waivers etc ..who told you that ? Was it written in the Blue paper ? NOTE ; People may argue this , but the CO (Consular Officer) respects F1 applicants who got no fundings but whose parents or company or families have more than enough money to cater for all their academic expenses. Those who got 100% fundings in a program that won't be beneficial to AMERICA (because they knows you may not come back again) have had their F1 visa applications rejected ๐ The COs also see those students who are agitating for application fee waivers , tuition scholarships or loan as FINANCIALLY UNCAPABLE S who may jetisson their studies while in America . Therefore, visa issuance is not based on what amount of fundings you have aquired. The CO (Consular Officers) most times communicate with your Host-Institutions without your knowledge via your Form I 20 and from there , they decide your financial and academic backgrounds.
