joyoola: With that letter, you can't know the true reason why the applications were refused because the refusal letter is generic, and all those applicants who were refused in the past get the same letters and exactly the same wording. You can apply for a GCMS note to see the reason the officer gave for the refusal. Also, you can repackage and reapply immediately. 1 Like |

joyoola: First advice: apply for a GCM note to better understand the specific reason. Recommendation for finance: in your next application, show proof of fund (bank statements - you and your husband), source of fund (pay slips, self employed - evidence of business transactions, if you use different account for salary, business and savings, include both bank statements - it shows evidence of what you earn/profit, where it is deposited and how it moves (savings and spending), letter of explanation - if there is any lump sum in the bank statements (as low as 300-500k: explain it). Processing officer do not look at only the available money in your account. You have to show proof that it is available to you and the source of it. If the source cannot be verified, they deem it as inflated for visa purposes. 1 Like |

eorom: Considering that eight out of every ten Nigerians I recently met in Toronto, who initially arrived on tourist visas, are now applying for asylum, I doubt the lenient approach will continue indefinitely. It seems that the IRCC is recognizing that many individuals are not genuine tourists.we abuse every opportunity and call it Japa And you think it will not affect others applicant! 5 Likes |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by eorom: 8:06am On Dec 12, 2023 |
Joytitilayo: My advice is to send a webform requesting for the letter of explanation to be added to your file as it will provide clarity to the processing officer on your financial situation. As far as a decision is not yet made on the application, I will suggest you send it ASAP. |

Is not about being smart. Every applicant whose application was denied in the past received the same generic refusal letter that contains the same exact information. To know the particular reason why an application was denied, you will have to order a GCMS note. This note is specific. 2 Likes |

joyoola: it is easier if you have a trusted person in Canada who can apply for the GCMS notes on your behalf. It cost just 5 Canadian dollars. But, must be someone you trust as it would involve you sharing your application ID and UCI with that person. However, you can also apply for it yourself. I would have named some third party sites but not sure if that is allowed here. Go on Google and type " GCMS Notes" As you scroll, you would see different 3rd party providers. Use any one of them also, you would be required to fill a consent form and sign with blue ink. Secondly, looks like i see the problem; $2,500 for 15 days for husband and wife inclusive of accommodation in Toronto might not be sufficient. This is because Toronto is very expensive including the housing market. That may work in some other cheaper province. Lets do some quick math's. An average of $2500/15days = 167 Canadian per day for two adults and when we further divide this by husband and wife given 83 dollars per adult. Now bearing in mind, you would have to pay for transportation and some of these tourist attractions the couples would love to explore. I am also guessing this $2,500 also includes accommodation and if that is the case, then looks like we are seeing the officers concern. NB: For tourist visa, there is no specific amount outlined by IRCC. Proof of funds depends on your duration of visit and the place of destination. Make sure the amount you quote as available for your stay covers adequately your trip putting into consideration your feeding, transport, entertainment expense and accommodation. I don't live in Toronto, would have advised on an estimate to work with but you can find out from someone who lives there or you do the research. Finally, don't limit your trip to just one tourist site for a whole 15days. Try to check other interesting places to see. YouTube is your friend. Then redraft a detailed itinery in your next application. I hope this helps. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Visitor visa is not an ‘immigant’, you’re a visitor. spend the next ‘few weeks’ to research on provinces/cities with jobs in ur current experience/career and cities that you can afford. Filter the jobs to see which offer LMIA. When you get to Canada you’d have to do a lot of self-research to get by, you might as well start already. Wanaman: |

Hi, Just curious, why do you feel a need to explain money she transferred from herself to herself after you have applied? Say I’m the processing visa officer, I’d ask myself that too when I see the webform & perhaps I’d more meticulously review the application. Should you decide to go ahead, explaining the lump sum from the other account won’t be enough, how the lump sum was saved up over months(statement of account) for the other account should also be provided if your ultimate goal is to explain source of money clearly. Keep the explaination simple and clear with documents to back it up if you must. #MyOneCent Joytitilayo: 1 Like |

Hello House. Please I applied for a Canadian visit Visa for the 21st January to 31st January 2024. I made a hotel reservation via booking.com and they deducted deposit. I just received a mail from booking.com yesterday that my hotel reservation is cancelled. The hotel just cancelled the reservation without notice. I am worried that the embassy might contact the hotel, and they are told I don't have any reservation. Please Advice me, should i make another reservation with another hotel, or what? Is there a way to update details of application to make them know i have changed location? I did biometric on the 13th of november, and i just read that it takes about 3 months to get response. and by then my travel date might have passed. If my travel date passes and i have not gotten response, will the visa be denied ? Please advice. Please do not quote me, as there is bug here that hides responses to my comment. Please respond without quoting... 1 Like |

Hello everyone, I want to submit a visitors visa application but I’m concerned about the timeline. My best friend has invited me to Canada for her daughters 1st birthday on the 30th of December and I know it’s really close and it looks like it’s too late to apply. Although it’s stated on the letter that I’ve been invited to visit as well as attend her child’s birthday ceremony 1. Can I still apply now either ways? Documents to submit; Passport PoF— Salary bank statement (3m balance) Employment document -offer,confirmation, -promotion,4month payslip, -introduction & leave letter Property valued at 32m Car vehicle registration Travel history— All stamps on passports(UK&multiple Italy) Business— CAC registration of 2 businesses Letter of invitation Dm friend— her Canadian passport her child’s Canadian passport, child’s birthday invite Purpose of trip—- SOP, flight, itinerary, my friends, tenancy agreement Clients info— LOE explaining previous visa refusal 2250 CAD FOR A 15 days trip, it covers flight, shopping and miscellaneous There’s also a placeholder where I have to upload PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP…. I really don’t know what to upload there…. Please help 2 Likes |

Joytitilayo:please based on this question, i will like to ask for clarification. i have just done biometrics but while reading this thread i observed i didnt add my salary statement to my application but my savings statement as only a column was available to attach statement. if i use the additional document to attach my salary statement now what could happen next because i have lost the same job i had used reference to apply for the tourist visa and my last salary would be as at october.am thinking of attaching the last salary statement but concerned they might ask for current statement which i do not have. pls advice |
