I remember far back 1993 when me, my mom and siblings used to harvest rice. grin

The knacking to get the shaft out of the rice nor be here.

Rice can be grown anywhere. Just have it planted around the swamp area and you are good to go.

@op nice one. cool
You said it can be grown anywhere and you are now saying it has to be a swamp area.

Biko, is everywhere swampy areas in Nigeria?

Behave yourself! cool

Nice one.
.

NASS should legislate a group of mature farmers of each village or local area to have weapon's training, and supplied with licenses to own modern shotguns and/or AK-47S.
Most times the police are ineffective or too late to deal with problems that arise.

I am not sure you voted for him but have you seen a Fulani man live before? How do you expect those low lives to lead a country of 200m correctly? Most of them were beggers before they conquered Hausa people, they don't have sense.

Good work

But why will dis rice cost 50k las las...

How is dollar connected with this local harvest
Costs of farm inputs are heavily dependent on foreign exchange. The intermediate or finished product like Fertilizers ( NPK and Urea), herbicides and pesticides are mostly imported.
Farm mechanization also relies heavily on diesel which in turn is an imported product. Farm equipment and their replacement parts are equally imported as well.

This look like clearing for planting than rice harvesting. The way we harvested rice when i was young was to cut the rice at the top of the stem and then used leg to press down the rice stem to move work. This one they are doing seems to require more energy than it takes. How can you harvest acres of rice farm like this? This is just some guys playing around in a rice farm
Re: Rice Farmers Harvesting Rice In Their Farm by youngsahito(m): 6:57pm On Dec 14, 2023
What we need is mechanized faming not this old way of farming. govts needs to spend more on agriculture rather embezzling those money with their pals.

The only way out of the current crisis the country found herself is to over promote Agricultural Production and Services.

When hunger is taken out of poverty, poverty is gone.

Yes as my Monika suggests, I am a young one.
Your asking the comparison of Burundi to Nigeria based on their 12.5m population, I do not get. You may explain better, because lots of other countries also have smaller population, uae just 6m, Sweden, South Africa, Ghana etc.
Seems you did not understand that Burundi video. Almost the whole citizens are farmers yet the poorest country in the world, why my comparison?, they are doing same type of farming shown in the Nigerian rice video. Ie Manual farming.

Non mechanized farming is usually a huge waste.

Not just because of costs, but also spoilage.

Okay let me help you further, Burudi needs mechanized farming to improve in their outputs, so they can export more of their farms produce to get more funds coming in from the international market. Plus burudi doesn’t have what we have here in Nigeria, in terms of what to plant and what sells faster internationally. Cassava alone can rescue Nigeria and make her the biggest exporter of cassava cocoa and yam. Not sure burudi soil is good for all that.
