BadMaster:

This is the height of mediocre, for goodness sakes. 7Mbps, 10Mbps, of what use is this kind of connection?
Not that bad. You'll find that this speed is much better than starlink when you are making a video or voice calls. Not everything is about instantaneous 150Mbps.
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by IllRatherNotSay: 9:41pm On Dec 05, 2023
There are areas with permanent interruption in clear blue sky. If you scan the sky with the app, you get no obstruction. However, if you install starlink, you will get obstructions.
My second starlink is installed at the highest point also, but I get obstructions and it becomes worse towards the afternoon from ~2:30pm.

HIbreed:
Hello house, I will like to voice out some disconcerting challenge and hopefully get a fix for it here. As it is, Starlink has been a gamechanger to the cyberspace world and has offered people in rural region broadband internet access. However, I have had mixed reception about it.

The 150Mbps promised by Starlink prior to ordering it was true at best, and I had even gotten up to 270Mbps at times with impressive low latency, all that obtained at fair price. But there is one recurring problem I have experienced which threatened to incite in me a lukewarm views about the service.

Starlink has consistently given me a shocking varying speed as far apart as 170Mbps to 530Kbps in just 30 seconds interval most times. I have resorted to the internet for more broadened knowledge and found out that I wasn't alone in the clutter.

Now, as I gingerly sought for a solution to the brand new problem, I discovered a warning message from the Starlink app that my Starlink is partially obstructed, and that interruption should be expected every 4 minutes.

Before anyone ponders and hint at possible obstruction of my dish, I think I should reveal that my dish was installed at the topmost area of my roof, and there were no tall buildings or towers nearby.

Is this normal? Am I reacting too much? What could be the cause of these outages? Is anyone having similar issue, and what can I do to get this off of me.

Order your Starlink on starlink.com yourself, pay with your naira denominated cards. Don't order from anyone selling at ridiculous price.

I really have no idea why people want to patronize 3rd party vendors. Before naira cards, I could understand. Now?

Run away from such people as far as your legs can take you. Like it's been pointed out here already, buy it yourself with your debit card.

It has been said multiple times here. Do not buy from 3rd party vendors in here in Nigeria. Starlink allows it but most sell at crazy prices and were purchased fraudulently. Once you buy then you realize you can't activate them. RUN!!!

Not everything u wrote here is true...
Yes it's been difficult to purchase due to Starlink trying to put a check in excesses and fraud.
now, only one account can make a single purchase.

however not all are fraud, some just business.
difficulty in new purchase is what now makes the few that did want to sell at high prices..because they may not be able to repurchase.
price shouldnt be ridiculous though

Hello everyone, I bought starlink for a friend via my card, to avoid being debited I deactivated the starlink, now he's ready to use it and I don't need it to be connected to my account again. They said I should do transfer of ownership, I contacted starlink support and this was their response, is there any way out?

Hi everyone!

So I got a starlink kit from a family member who was japa-ing and got it transferred to me, however, I only got the option to use Starlink roam because apparently, there is no availability in my area (which is ridiculous, because I don't think up to 10 people have starlinks in my area 🤣🤣)

So I paid the monthly fee of 49k for Roam, but longer term I want to switch to the Standard residential plan because it's cheaper and faster (so a no-brainer).

My plan was to sign up for an additional Starlink, pay the deposit for the standard plan and whenever availability opened up, I'd tell them support I have an existing kit and just transfer the service to the kit, cancel roam and activate standard.

My problem now is that I am unable to pay the deposit for the Standard. I have tried every possible combination of card (debit, credit, Master card, Visa, verve) with multiple banks (First, Standard Chartered, GTB) and still no dice. Even the first bank card that is currently on file for the roam service was declined.

What could be the issue?

Thanks ☺️
