Yeah! It’s my Nigeria number The Sim is on a phone and I have about #300 available on the sim. The sim wasn’t on a phone before, I had to put it in a phone when I needed it and other messages like debit alert and Telegram verification code came in. The only issue is the WhatsApp code not coming in ReesheesuKnack: |

Police state UK on steroids....... You can only run..... You cannot hide..... From DL identification, it would lead to Passport identification, then immigration database identification...... The list is endless...... 🤣 https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/dec/21/surveillance-britain-police-photos-facial-recognition?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other |

I just heard UK universities are withdrawing 9ja students, like tomorrow no dey......... If you come in on a student visa, ensure you have adequate funds to pay your tuition........ You CANNOT use the payment from a perceived job, to pay your fees (you can only work for 20 hours term time), this fund is not adequate to pay your tuition.......... 11 Likes |

Lexusgs430: A friend's brother got into some hot soup about 2 weeks ago. The school immediately sent a mail to home office after the 2nd or 3rd notice. I think he thought they'll rescind everything once he pays cos he was banking on Form A. Even after hustling GBP here and paying, they still locked his account After locking his portal, they told him they can't do anything about it again that he should contact home office himself . Home office sent a mail asking him to leave before December 10, I think He's in Naija now Things may be more strict in 2024. If they ask students to pay complete fees before being granted visa like I heard Ireland does, it will be insane 1 Like |

Fourcade: I *think* they will retain the salary discount currently in place for new entrants/recent graduates and those under 26, which allows them to be sponsored at up to 70% of the going rate. 1 Like |

hustla: He made a sensible, albeit very tough, decision to return because he retains a clean immigration history and will have options to return to the UK or another country. I have heard cases of students refusing to comply with the Home Office's instructions to leave, and becoming overstayers. I'm not sure that they understand how difficult and expensive it is to regularise status from within the UK once leave to remain has elapsed/ been withdrawn |

hustla: This is the exact reason justwise keeps hammering on the POF provided, during the application process........ Over 100 students I heard have already been booted out (many more might be affected)...... This universities are not likely to offer any refunds, money is not easy to come by, hence no point wasting it and dashing hopes........ UK universities might start implementing higher percentage of fees it's now 50%, they might move it to 75%........... 6 Likes |

Zahra29:it's stated that the changes to care worker's dependent will be implemented as soon as possible next year, does that mean spring? |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goodenoch: 11:29am On Dec 22, 2023 |
Iruobe1987: Will likely be earlier. Maybe even January. The ones where they're planning for spring, they specifically said so, so one can imply this is not one of those. Plus, 2024 is an election year and this is a hot topic where the government is facing lots of pressure from the public and inside parliament to take drastic action. 1 Like |

Iruobe1987: Yes, I suspect they may introduce this via a statement of changes, possibly in January, while the other changes such as the skilled worker threshold will be implemented via an immigration rule change in March/April |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by hustla(m): 12:43pm On Dec 22, 2023 |
Lexusgs430: They offered him some refund, but not everything. They will likely implement the high percentage thing or ask students to pay everything upfront. There is a special column dedicated to Graduate route review Interesting times ahead |

profemebee: The SNP in Scotland is rubbish. They keep throwing the dead red meat of ‘Independence” to hoodwink Scots about their failures. Same with the Labour government in Wales. They are messing up big time, but once you point out their failures, they point the blame to Westminster. Shame! |

I don't think those on skilled worker visas were affected as the first publication only focused on care workers and senior care workers. However, the salary threshold of those already on SWV will increase but only gradually I guess. BTW i have been a silent reader for 15 years on NL. When NL was down. I almost craze, like I lost my first wife Now, I hope to be more active 4 Likes
