The UK use the word post for letter while the US say mail

The British say flyover, Americans say overpass

The British say Rubber while American say Eraser

British๐Ÿ‘‰ exercise book, Americans call it notebook

Americans say sidewalk while British call it pavement.

British say petrol American use Gas

British ๐Ÿ‘‰ full stop Americans ๐Ÿ‘‰ period

British ๐Ÿ‘‰ holiday Americans ๐Ÿ‘‰ vacation

British ๐Ÿ‘‰ car Boot. Americans ๐Ÿ‘‰ car trunk

British> windscreen Americans ๐Ÿ‘‰ windshield

These all mean the same thing but if you tell a British man overpass or Eraser he may not immediately understand what you're talking about.

Kudos...

No, it's the US that uses imperial system -feet, inches, miles, ounces, pounds, fahrenheit etc.
Imperial as the name implies is British.

I am only telling you the truth: the truth is that some people will not trade Naija for anywhere in the world because they are making it big here in Naija.

Someone like Dangote is not going to trade Naija for anywhere in the world, and the truth is that the guy might not be as successful as this if he had relocated to the US or UK during his youth days. Just saying, I don't know.

I understand there are limited opportunities here in Naija, but some people will still make it big and become super rich.

interesting

seems US doesn't consider same sex marriage as a means to relocate right? only opposite

I can see Ikoyi, is it a must they get married in Nigeria or they can also do that in the US?
same sex is illegal in Nigeria so they dont have expect from Nigerians. The only option most times is to get married in Nigeria unless maybe they had usa visa before. USA wonโ€™t grant many of these guys visa to go visit usa in the first place hence they marry. Then the woman files for them based in marriage.

What's the difference between what you just said and what the post said?

You don't need to break a bank to make the move. Just make sure you're saving. But first of all, what did you study in school?

I would say US is the better destination... variety ... choices ... options.... opportunities. For one it's a very vast country ... e.g to fly from New York to California is about 5 hours.... non stop.... the width of the country. One can find the climate he is comfortable with .... you like hot ... go live in the south ... Florida ... Texas ... Louisiana... you like it extra hot then go live in Las Vegas .... like it cold try Alaska.... no such options in the UK ... one dish on their menu. Some States are strict on immigration status ... others like NY are not.... and even make it extremely difficult for the FG to scoop up illegal immigrants. But if you commit a felony .... robbery .... caught with drugs ... on gun related charges... auto theft etc..... imprisonment ... then released to ICE before saying goodbye on your free flight back to country of origin. One thing in the US is competition ... like in any field... the competition is fierce. And yes ... as someone said earlier ... the hourly rate pay is very common .... mainly office workers and management be on salary. The reason many will go for blue collar jobs.... they follow the money.

I have lived in both countries.
The United States of America remains the best destination for both the singles and family structured and for any human being on earth including the animals. The US brings out the best in you even when you have nothing to offer. That's the only country on earth you can wear slippers to visit & leave wearing Timberland

The country is structured to make you successful.
The jobs opportunities in America can confuse you for years, as one would be confused where to specialize.
The only country even when you don't have papers you are not embarrassed or castigated, rather you are encouraged to get such. In the United States you rarely fear deportation. You would have committed one of their worst crimes for deportation to be revisited.
Wait till Trump becomes president again

I prefer the US. They pay way better than the UK with less taxation. UK uses tax in growing her economy. More reason why tax rate is pretty high compared to the US.
Plus majority of the US companies pay based on hourly rates. Meaning you're paid based on your time worked. If you put in the extra effort and work 16 hours, you're paid based on that unlike the UK where the rate most times is fixed per month. Not many UK companies pay hourly.

You are not very conversant with what you are talking about here. Both US and UK have hourly paid employees. And you work 40 hours a week. To go over that, you need approval from your boss. So you can't get up and start working 100 hours a week in a job, because you want to earn more

The most important difference was omitted which is the healthcare system.
Healthcare is free in the UK but you have to pay through your nose to seek healthcare in the USA

Many people are mouthing off that UK tax is higher. They don't understand that the tax is used to provide services like the NHS. When they get hit by a medical bill in the US, they will understand what "high tax" means
