Bought 2 fakes on Jumia...

But have had a great experience buying.

Wouldn't give any stores free adverts though. angry

Be careful out there.

Leave the high end brands like Dior , Guerlain etc. Retail for 80 - 150k.

Of course leave the Creeds, Initios that are close to 300k.

Do the Lattafas, Rasasis... 10 - 30k.

Lol, based on 2 personal experiences I've had, my mindset now is that all perfumes from Jumia and in fact online are fake.

I prefer to walk into a physical store and test the fragrance before buying.

Wait Chief, are you saying the Diors, D&Gs, YSLs and the likes of between 80 - 150k and the Creeds of 300k plus sold in Nigeria are also fake?

You're asking the wrong question.

The question is how realistic are we when we want to buy what is truly original.

A man earning 100k monthly would most likely believe an Iphone 14 going for 70k is original and get scammed.

Let the same win 50m from Bet9ja and you'll see him in Shoprite plunking 2m to buy the latest Iphone pro max.

People know where to buy the original. Even if they do not initially know, you can only fool them once. The same goes for fragrances.

Go to any Shoprite or any high class mall and you'll find them boku

They have original ones and fake ones, it depends on where you buy and how much you buy.

You can not go to market with #2000 to buy original long lasting eau de parfum.
There is a product for every price.

How many Nigerian men can afford to buy ordinary Gucci black eau de parfum of #75,000, which I think is among the cheapest original products, talk more of original Adventus creed eau de parfum of #420,000?

So, the problem is from both the sellers and the buyers but the buyers determine it more because they want a Hennessy with the budget of Maltina.

You are right. There are luxury EDPs and dupes. The dupes are not fakes, but they are inspired by the luxury EDP. If that makes sense. First pictures are the luxury aventus while second picture gives you the dupes

Well , everything depends on your budget .
We have the original and clone but you will see some people expecting to buy the original version at cheaper prices.
The major companies that sells designers fragrances are not online but are in the market and that's where we buy the original designers and supply to our customers.
Meanwhile, I deal on all ranges of perfumes at tradefair market @ zero seven zero six eight eight one zero eight six three.
Make us your supplier , you will always come back for more...

E depends on your plug.

Just like most branded sneakers are knock-offs same thing goes for wines, whiskeys, designers prdts. The only thing wey no too get fake na electronics because the cost of production too high.

Drugs the same. Fake prdts full market. So na your plug matter. You know say China get different versions of anything you want.

JBL, LG, Panasonic, even deodorants get Dubai version, UK version, and Turkey version.

Just like Peak milk get Naija peak milk and Foreign. It depends on who handles the production supervision.

No be say all of them na 'fake' but na different standards of production observed.

I never use perf from Yankee direct so ebgo hard for me to tell the difference. because my guy dey complain say ShopRite mall perfs no too make sense compared to Yankee verison
am joy hope am welcome here

There are some Nigerian made perfumes that have nice scent.
The one I'm presently using is techno bold, bought it from a northerner for 2k(almost finish).
Wishbone also smells nice. They are quite cheap tho and the scents really don't last that long most especially after a month.

Most are not of good quality. The sellers don’t know much about perfumes, so they settle for whatever they see just for profit sake.

Niche/Good perfume ought to have a good sillage
Good projection and longevity
If you need a good perfume-
*extrait de perfume/parfum - expensive
*Eau de parfum- moderate
*Eau de perfume- moderate

These are with good sillage and longevity- depends the brand.

But if u need a good perfume at a cheap price and with longevity- dubai perfume na baba(Not all)

It’s a tradition over there to use perfumes.

They don't sell cheap fakes because they settle for profit. They do so because that's what the market demands.

No. Funny enough, my fragrantica.com shelf reads 100s ( I don't want to say a specific number because it's huge)

I have bought scores of them on several sites and physically in this country. Never actually bought any fake in this country except those 2.

The Diors, Creeds that are sold at those prices aren't USUALLY fake. But I have seen some shockingly close fakes of those that made me think twice about buying. So I try to minimise the risk by buying in foreign high end stores or at duty free shops at airports.

For the very expensive perfumes I buy on :

Notino for UK,
Fragrancebuy.ca for Canada.
LuckyScent, FragranceNET and FragranceX for USA.

If you can lay your hand on Number 9 by Victor, you have a good edp, almost like the luxury aventus. The magic is owning both aventus and Number 9 and interchange usage based on the outing. grin
