No were did I say updating manually entails unlocking bootloader.

download the ROM in question from miuirom.org. ensure you are downloading the right ROM. Also you ensure downloading with a download manager like 1dm+ or ADM

After downloading do the below

How to manually update..

Go to Settings > About phone > System update.

If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11/12/13 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 11/12 update file

That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins

Data should be on during the decryption process

I downloaded the file as instructed from miuirom.org.
But in installation, I got this "unofficial package" error message.
The file I downloaded was about 3.4gb

Been experiencing this hotspot issue on my redmi note 12. If i put on hotspot on my redmi note 12 for my redmi 8, my redmi 8 doesn't see d redmi note 12, but when I started using the redmi note 12 it wasn't this way. At times I have to off airplane on d redmi note 12 or I restart the phone for the redmi 8 to see it. And phone is updated but with oda phones hotspot or spectranet, my redmi 8 sees it without issues. Any solution to this?

First and foremost you have to clear storage space to atleast 5GB

Click on the update and share the screen of the MIUI Version Xiaomi wants you to update to. And also you need to free up a lot of memory, you are walking on dangerous grounds.

That's no issue..
But I don't think the error is because of space

Strange. Do a ₦500 hourly plan on Airtel or MTN depending on which is faster in your location and share a hotspot to your phone and try the OTA.

Oh

Free up to 10gb of space and retry again

Reason behind that is insufficient space, you'll have to re-download

You should be using a device with nothing less than 128G ROM.

Before you open up your phone, be sure it's not something you can fix yourself.

Share your battery graph and about phone section

Hi Genius and @y'all. My Redmi 9 is stock on a boot loop whereby it will turn on, display the Redmi logo and turn off.

Holding the power and volume down button successful boots into fastboot and won't turn off this time until I manually power it down.

Holding the volume up and down keys together with the power keys boot to the recovery screen where I can select recovery, fastboot and normal boot. But selecting any option apart from the fastboot results in the device turning off and won't come back on.

Any advice and anything else I can do?
