[quote author=ide2012 post=127656835]Thank you so much! It seems they don't give US visa's anymore. Fyi the Visa was refused for the third time Hey 🤠 You have been refused an F1 visa for the 3rd time does not mean that the US embassy does not give visa any more, they give visas EVERY DAY . If you had waited a bit at the frontage of the embassy , i am very certain that you would have seen those who got their visas and could not hide their joys by dancing or by praising God. 1. F1 visa denial hangs on so many qualifying factors which the embassy expects you to address and perfected , ,otherwise if you go 100 times they will keep denying your visa . 2. Despite the fact that the US Consular Officers on very few occurrences makes an imperfect or wrong visa decisions , their visa decisions 95% of the time is still based on standard policy and a set of visa rules . 3. Another thing is that , you might shout " yeeeeee " So this is the reason all this years !! If somebody or the CO point out your refusal reason (s) to you . It can be a funny reason , for example like may be just changing your school , program of study , adding little amount to your salary etc. 4. You have not actually share your visa refusal conversations between you and the Consular officer but i will implore you to restrategize . Check the kind of school you applied to , program of study , ties back to Nigeria , your age ranges , are you able to cover your tuition deficit ? Etc. NOTE: You have gone far with your 3rd attempts and many are in the same kind of shoes. " Never Say Die " Best Wishes 🙏 |

Ajalalomo: Hey 🤠 @ide2012. FOR YOUR PASSPORT UPDATE . 1 .Login back to your CGI profile , click on feedback and attach your new passport bio-data page as well as your MRV payment receipt (Merge it together as PDF document) with the explanations that you want to be making use of the new passport number . 2. Also Call the CGI helpline verbally to explain this. 3. If they update it on your behalf then reprint your appointment confirmation letter so that it will carry the new passport number , IF THEY HESITATE , attend your interview with both OLD AND NEW PASSPORTS . Best Wishes 🙏 |

First Good morning all the scholars in the house, been a while I visited this forum. I have a very important inquiry here for my sister who is currently trying to transition into the USA medical field, So, by any chance Do we have any Nigerian female Medical students or doctor in this forums who has done this successfully? If so please what are your challenges? How did you transits? Any further education or licensing needed? What could she possibly expect? Your answers to my questions would be highly appreciated. |

Hi, I read your response to TWoods and then your question, and it is not incredibly clear what you want to do. My understanding is that you have a curren F1 visa for school A and you plan on deferring admission from Spring to Fall 2024 because of health reasons. However, you are considering School B because of presumably better funding options. My explanation below is based on this understanding. Because you have deferred your admission in School A to Fall 2024, you will have been unenrolled for greater than 5 months which will mean that if School B offers you admission in Fall 2024, school A will be unable to transfer your SEVIS records (again because it has been more than 5 months since your last enrollment) to school B. School B will generate a new I20 and a new SEVIS ID. This SEVIS ID from School B will obviously be different from the SEVIS ID that is annotated on your current F1 visa which is for School A. If you come to the US to attend School B with the visa that is annotated with school A's SEVIS ID, you will likely have problems at POE because the immigration official will look up your SEVIS records on School B's I20 and when he scans your visa, the SEVIS records for school A will show up instead of School B. Because you have deferred your admission for School A, your SEVIS information for school A will show deferred or even Terminated if you have told your DSO in school A that you won't be resuming at School A anymore in Fall 2024. Either way, this will cause problems at POE for you and they may not allow you in because of this SEVIS record mismatch in their SEVIS system. If you changed schools within 5 months or less of your last enrollment, you could easily transfer your SEVIS ID to the new school and you won't need to get a new visa because the DSO will just update your SEVIS records and you will maintain your current SEVIS ID. This is considered a transfer which happens all the time when students change schools for any reason - personal reasons, advisor got a new position at a new school and they moved with the advisor, better funding at another university, or they got admission to their first choice school after they had received their visa based on the i20 from their second choice school etc. In these cases, there is no prolonged break in enrollment. After my F1, I did a fellowship on a J1 for a few months at my second choice institution. I was later offered a fellowship in my first choice institution after three months at the second choice institution and the program official of my first choice institution just updated my DS2019 in the SEVIS system to reflect my first choice institution and I maintained the same SEVIS ID. My explanation above is based on you changing schools from School A to School B. Obviously, if you deferred your admission in School A and return in Fall 2024 to attend the same School A, the above explanation will be moot because you won't require a new visa (you will require a new 120 though) provided that you filed the proper paperwork with your DSO (look up five-month rule for US students online). As I mentioned, they can't do a SEVIS transfer to School B where you retain your SEVIS ID and I20 because you would have been away and unenrolled for more than 5 months. I hope this makes sense. I realize that this is a long-winded answer but if you want to be doubly sure, I suggest that you reach out to the DSO of school B when you are offered admission. The DSO will obviously know better than I do. Best of luck and I hope everything works out for you! Rdfactor: 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi guys what can I do differently? I am going for my 5th attempt. My 3rd and 4th attempt, I had a finding that covers 31k out of 52k. However, I am going with another school with 79k+ out of 108k. These are MBA programs. I need your help, thank you. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by NewBoyKhashoggi(m): 7:46pm On Dec 28, 2023 |
crowniran: Hey 🤠 I want to think that it was a typo error ; You wanted to write that you had a funding of 31k out of 52k in your 3rd and 4th F1 visa interview attempt right ? Now , you are going on your 6th F1 visa interview attempt with another school for the same MBA with 79k plus scholarships out of 108k school fees ? I want to think this 6th school is a private University 🙄 ***** Firstly i want to congratulate you for asking the public the way forward, because NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU HAVE GONE ON A WRONG WAY " TURN BACK NOW ! 1. You seem to be enjoying the entrance fundings which the School of MBA gives out to prospective applicants . ***** MBA is good only for professional people , ie a banker working in a bank . An economist who has an established business , an employed or self employed business manager etc. Consular officer does not like a fresh Bsc holder or unemployed graduate going for an MBA. They prefer such to go for MSc . 2. You are agitating on fundings according to your questions .... WHO TOLD YOU THAT LACK OF FUNDS IS THE REASON FOR YOUR VISA REFUSALS ? ******* The Consular officer denies visa under section 214B and never point out to any particular reason . Why are you only focussing on fundings ? Did the consular ask you to go and get full tuition scholarship ? 3. Funding is good , scholarship is okay but that is not the only criterion for determining your visa issuance. Otherwise , in your 3rd & 4th attempt , you scored more than average by getting 31k out of 52k respectively 😌 ***""" Focus on your present employment status , are you married ? Home ties ? Do you have kids ? Are you above 40 or below 30 ? Were you able to communicate well with the consular officer ? Who is your sponsor as stated in your DS 160 ? Etc . 4. Tell us your academic background , what you do presently , your age ranges , English communication level , married or single and then , NAIRALANDERS WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU DIRECT ADVICE. You may even need to jettisson that MBA idea . Best Wishes 🙏 |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by TWoods(m): 9:14pm On Dec 28, 2023 |
Daodudavid: Assume your sister is on an F1 visa. The move to medical school is possible but difficult. Medical schools here prioritize US citizens and permanent residents so you will need to go above and beyond on the MCAT. Even at that, you may only get put on a temp list. My advice, don’t worry about the difficulty, focus on killing your undergrad and MCAT. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by NewBoyKhashoggi(m): 10:42pm On Dec 28, 2023 |
Osamagioghowewi: Hey 🤠 Your question looks like a troll . Let me troll back the answer : 1. Nigeria has approximately 21 commercial banks. 2. Opay is not a bank , it's a wallet . 3. Therefore if you tender your Opay wallet account at the US embassy , the Consular officer would not say it out to you BUT He or she would think thus ; ***** Since this man did not qualify to open an account out of the 21 commercial banks in Nigeria , then HE CANNOT QUALIFY FOR US VISA. Best Wishes 🙏 |

Naijalarry: Hey 🤠 @Naijalarry . You have better message me privately if you have a business around MBA and scholarships because i won't stop writing the truth . WHERE DID I DISCREDIT MBA ? Kindly point it out ?? The poster Cried for help and threw the questions to the public , AFTER 5 FAILED ATTEMPTS GOING FOR SAME MBA ? For God's sake let us have fear of God. What is his career ? Did you not read the questions i asked him ? 1. I DISAGREE WITH YOU ! Mention the names of how many people who got visa easily with full funding in MBA ? We want physical evidence not verbal . They just got to the embassy and got the visa ? 2. Let us assume that you are his teacher , ok this time around he secured 79k out of 108 remaining 29k deficit ? HOW IS HE GOING TO COVER THIS DEFICIT AND NOT GOT DENIED AGAIN AT THE 7th attempt ? 3. Do you ever know his family background ? Do you know his ties to Nigeria ? Do you know his age ? Do you know his career ? OKAY A NURSE GOING FOR MBA ? Or 21 yr old fresh graduate of Mass Comm going for MBA, no work experience nothing . 4. @Naijalarry all you are after is MBA and scholarships but it's not automatic visa . Okay i am challenging you to respond to the guy s question let me see HOW YOU WILL ADVISE HIM. Message me privately if you have business with MBA. I am not spoiling anyone's job but i have to say the truth . Best Wishes 🙏 1 Like |

Naijalarry: Hey 🤠 @Naijalarry , I am giving the vital information that i know and have researched . You do not know my educational background as well as my current level of education . I am also not on NL to flex wisdom muscle nor achievement's . YOU CANNOT DIRECT ME INTO A PATTERN OF RESPONSES TO PEOPLE. I think and cross checked everything i post on Nairaland , i also make calls Internationally at time before my decisions because the readers on Nairaland are not fools . A University professor or Surgeon can ask a question about USA visa , that does not mean that they are fools . 1. Please note that the receiver of my information is in the best position to. Criticise my post , not you . You can only use your genuine answer to knock out my responses without even mentioning me . 2. Go and research the new STEM MBA ..if you want me to give analysis of MBA, the pros and cons even in America i will do that openly on NL. I am not here to overtake anybody . Best Wishes . 1 Like |

femi2004: I don’t school there but based on what your request is, the answer may not only be available to current ATC students. If you’re sure they can only be answered by current students there, then fair enough. What are you needing assistance with? |

JohnZak: Yes. This is 100% correct. When I read up opinions on most schools’s website about issues like this, your opinion is what they all agree with (though my own DSO is yet to respond to my email due to holidays). Thank you so much. This is all the explanation I need. God bless you. |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by NewBoyKhashoggi(m): 7:20am On Dec 29, 2023 |
Honiejenny: Hey 🤠 Mock training or practice or examination is the past questions and answers amongst visa applicants and consular officers (VO) that is now put together inside a book or piece of paper for the use of future visa applicants like you . **** The idea is to train the future applicants like you the kind of questions to be expecting from the Consular officers ( the embassy official that will interview you before giving you visa) and how to answer them . ***** But the best form of Mock training is to do it physically with an experienced person who will act exactly like a Consular officer (optional for those who lives in a far country ) by observing your body languages , consistency in your answers , your confidence , etc. ****** The person that will take you on the Mock training must study your DS 160 and he or she must train you ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN CIRCUMSTANCES . For example , 2 students are going for MSc , and PhD in Microbiology and History respectively and they both study same mock training booklet , they will both fail some aspects of their visa interview. 1. Find an experienced person to gather questions based on your circumstances and take you on the training . 2. Or find resources on questions related to you and ask a friend or family member who have the time to take you on mock training . 3. Ask on Nairaland the mock training available groups and join . But tell them your program of study and circumstances so that they will tailor your training towards your DS 160 details . PS ;. Mock training is very very important . Many well deserved and qualified applicant who have everything required for visa have had their visa applications rejected as a result of lack of communication . Some can communicate but they are shy immediately they see crowd . Some displayed over confidence when they are in front of the CO. Best Wishes 🙏 |

Visa Approved F1 Lagos embassy 6:30 am 28th of December, 2023 Black American Lady First attempt Fully funded Purdue University (US), Ph.D. in Agric & Bio Engr. I got there quite early at exactly 5:10am and was the second person there. Everywhere was quiet and was looking like people has given up on applying for US Visa....Around 6:15am, everywhere was filled up. We were then called in around 6:25am and we went through the stressful process of the checkings, verification and thumbprinting. Interview On entering the interview hall, I was already shivering because of the AC☺️ and I am the 2nd on the queue. We went through the thumbprinting procedure. The lady that did thumbprinting for us left window 5 to come interview us for window 7. We are getting tired already because we were left on the queue for over 30mins. After the first applicant, then came my turn. VO: Good Morning Me: Good Morning, how you doing today and compliment of the season VO: Thank you VO: Who is sponsoring your education? Me: I secured a fullu funded scholarship which covers my stipend, tuition and health insurance. Vo: Okay.... (continue typing, I just kept my gaze on her ) VO: Okay, I will be approving your Visa....she handed over the white slip and withheld my I-20 and passport....I then bounce out I couldn't believe my eyes I was asked just a question and that's it......This is GRACE at work and nothing more. I want to appreciate @ Lateefah☺️ and @~Opeyemi for the various mock sessions (these guys really helped me, I remember my first mock session, it was just trash☺️😌😌 and hence more practice which I later lost count of at some point.....Thank you so much and I am so grateful. Once again, thank you so much...… I just believed I was favoured because have never read a transcript with just a question before. Thank you guys and more of funding news and visa approval. Just that single YES, it will definitely come, Keep at it💪 #Gracified ##TillWeAllWin…….###Gracias...OUT!!!! Someone transcript, 7 Likes |
