The squad no bad to me, the only comma na uzoho, Musa and Omeruo All though I know how few made the list through back yard door and I must commend Jpes for fighting out with the ogas at the glasshouse I pray that this Afcon will be the last for the trio of mentioned above and young stars like Tella, Ogbu, Toru and Akor will hv a chance in the team 1 Like |

Cecco90:Sadiq over Moffi? and Musa still find his way.The midfield still remain as usual...I thought one of Dele Bashiru,Ifeanyi Matthew and Nwakali will make it....Nathan out. I would have picked Jordan over Ekong and Nathan over Musa but anyway we are free to go. 1 Like |

Kog45:I believe the inclusion of ekong and Musa were strongly influenced by the nff Jpes and some ogas at the football house re rumored to be in loggerheads over the inclusion of the above mentioned duo 1 Like |

Kog45: I hate local coaches because of their shady and dubious ways. Local coach for even worst by smuggling Like 3-4 NPFL players to the squad in the name of quota system and defending it with senseless and dumb statements just to justify their uselessness That local coach wey I go trust especially in terms of player selection dem never born am 🤣 |

If anything happens to iwobi like injury or red card in this afcon tournament that means the super eagles midfield will be without any creative midfielder. 4 Likes |

The list is finally out not too many surprises though I feel Moffi was deserving of a place. After Osimhen and Iheanacho he's the only other striker who has been a bit prolific in front of goal. Honestly I just don't understand the selfishness of Musa you have been in previous tournament squads, you have enjoyed great success why not leave the stage for younger players? It's not as if his form has been great lately so why insist on forcing yourself on the team? If his influence was that great we would have qualified for the last World Cup honestly SMH. Not surprised JP still insisted on carrying Uzoho. Ojo really get long leg. Defense is about the best we can get for now. Loads of experienced campaigners which you will for tournaments of this nature. Midfield could have done with at least one more player but na JP sabi sha. Overall this is still a very strong squad capable of going all the way if only we had a half decent coach. My advice for everyone is to continue to back the team but seriously manage your expectations if or when the worst happens. 1 Like |

I was referring to goal scoring form in the national team not club football. I think Moffi could have been handy but hey what do I know. charlesemeka85: |

You said it oo! I heard from good authority that Paserio only called up 23 players cos he does not want to keep players he won't use away from their clubs who need them. Musa and Ekong were forced on him by the NFF President and the Minister who comes from the same region and State respectively! charlesemeka85: 4 Likes |

Players who will feel bad are: 1) Terem Moffi (Ahmed Musa stole his place. Reason = Federal Character. A fit Taiwo Awoniyi might have lost to Sadiq Umar too 4 same reason) 2) Jamilu Collins (No P. Zaidu Sanusi is worth it) 3) Adebayo Adeleye [Goal Keeper] (Im indifferent on this) 4 Likes |
