FeliciaOja:You ain't see nothing yet. Arsenal is synonymous to Heartbreak. If you can't compromise and put up with that bad side. Just better run oo.. But, If he's serious on changing his attitude, give him a second chance. |

ezegenigbonine: You are new in the game. They fight and even killed self. One Chelsea fan stab the other to death after watching a match Chelsea lost and also some years back, an arsenal fan stab another arsenal fan to death why arguing about the team performance. Fans of the same club argue pretty well because most of the fans in Nigeria here don't really know about football, they are just doing follow follow. That guy is not mature enough so all that you said is just an excuse because I don't know why you have to pass your aggression to others all because your team lost a game. You can feel bad and down but to start fighting people for your lost is childish |

FeliciaOja:Bump. This is an insightful thread. People have to learn NOT to derive their medium to long-term joy OR happiness from soccer because on the field of play, any of those soccer team players can dissapoint soccer fans and leave you heart broken tbh. Ever since many of those boys started making millions from soccer in the 1980s, a couple of them started playing nonsense in the fields of play because that hunger to play well evaporated after making money from endorsements and weekly salaries. I used to like watching soccer tournaments right from the 1980s Senior Soccer World Cups through to the 1990s (especially from the Atlanta, USA, 1994 Olympic Games Gold medal won by the spectacular display on the field of play by the Nigerian soccer team). After series of loses during crucial soccer tournaments and my favorite teams lost, the scales finally fell off my eyes after due to emotional pain from those series of loses. Self-awareness enabled me to quickly develop more interest in other sports or hobbies that do NOT involve a lot team members. Often times, it just takes one, two or three young, overfed and non-motivated millionaires among those soccer players to spoil things for everyone! So, chess, golf, scrabble, archery, darts, basketball, martial arts, etc, are some of the sports or games that I gravitated towards when I dumped soccer in the VERY early 2000s. I have absolute peace of mind now. Second, sports gambling is another thing that I strongly think lead a lot of these young folks to get intensely fanatical or emotional about soccer loses. It's really weird when you get to see the abnormal attitudes they often display while watching soccer, such as screaming excessively, kicking their legs into the air, using foul language or slur words. I have NO regrets for gravitating away from soccer because of the negatives associated with it. I can even watch soccer matches as of now (without having throbbing chest aches) because I do NOT have intense emotional connections to it. |
