You'll need internet, download and extract to a folder, disable your windows defender. Good day all I have a Dell laptop core i3 that has an issue. The old battery is stuck on 0% and doesn't go beyond that when charged. I went to test another battery, it will charge for 10 seconds, stop and start charging again. It continues like that until the new battery gets to 100%. I tried using another charger, it bridge the charger once I plug it in to the laptop( the green light on the charger goes off immediately I plug it in) . Meaning only that my original charger can at least try to get it fully charged with start and stop charging. Please what could be the best way to fix this problem. |

Good afternoon. The screen of my hp elitebook 8570p laptop suddenly went blank. I took it to the repairer at computer village, he said one of my ram slots is bad, dats why. Then he did something to the laptop, it started showing again. I took it home only for it to stop showing after 3 days. I took it back to him, he said that the fix he did is temporary and that if he does it again, the laptop will still go off again. He said the VGA needs to be changed, and that costs 40k, but that will be the permanent fix and it won't go blank again I went online and checked and they said that the VGA of my laptop cannot be changed, that it is fixed to the motherboard, so, to change the VGA means to change the entire motherboard of the laptop 1. I just want to confirm if this is the right way to go, is this the final fix? Is this what the laptop repairer was referring to? Cus he did not mention motherboard 2. How much does it cost to change the motherboard of my laptop? 3. Is it true that a spoilt ram slot cannot be fixed or repaired? Compliments of the season |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 1:35pm On Dec 26, 2023 |
adibo: Lol.. He want to change vga or get another motherboard for you in disguise of changing the VGA? 2. To change the board should be around #30k-40k depending on seller due to the exchange rate. A spoilt ram slot can be fix depending on the damage and the available tools. Note that vga can be change if you have a bga machine but it's a waste of time for this 3rd gen laptop. |

udemzyudex: Thanks a lot for the reply, I sincerely appreciate Please, just a few more questions 1. OK, so, changing the motherboard means that I will be having a totally new VGA, right? Which should solve my blank screen issue permanently, right? 2. Also, the new motherboard comes with its own ram slots, right? Which means that I will have my two ram slots back if I change the motherboard, right? 3. Lastly, my laptop presently has core i5 dual core on it, when changing the motherboard, can I switch to a core i7 motherboard quad core? |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 1:59pm On Dec 26, 2023 |
adibo: 1.Yes 2. Yes 3. You'll have to buy a core i7 processor, new motherboard don't come with processor. If you get the motherboard, your core i5 processor will be fix on it and if you want to upgrade to core i7, you'll have to get the core i7 processor. |

udemzyudex: Really appreciate once again, how much will the core i7 processor likely cost? |

Good evening, pls, I need help. I took my HP elitebook 8570P 3rd gen to computer village for them to change the motherboard. only for me to collect it back this evening and I checked the system info, I am seeing HP probook 6560b 2nd gen as my laptop model. It seems they put the motherboard of a different laptop in my system. The system does not also seem to accept my SSD cards anymore. I am thinking of returning it to them tomorrow morning and telling them that I only want HP Elitebook 8570P motherboard, what do you guys think? |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 5:32am On Dec 29, 2023 |
adibo: With HP a lot of parts are interchangeable, probook motherboard can work with Elitebook, even some zbook motherboard are just Elitebook board with graphic chip. Your Elitebook 8570p is not a very common laptop, and moreover the engr wouldn't want to buy another board with a graphic chip especially if it is a used board. If you don't like what you get, you can take it back especially if he didn't tell you about it before going ahead, apart from that it will work fine. |

udemzyudex: Hi Udemzy, please how can I resolve issue of my Toshiba laptop turning on but screen is too dim .. I can view things in it and operate it if I look very closely or use a torchlight. Sometimes, the screen light comes up on its own, other times is goes that dim and refuses to bring screen light even after several 'ons and offs'... How can I permanently resolve that dim screen issues? |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 8:28pm On Jan 01 |
Amicable24: This is definitely a screen issue, it can be fix, depends though or you replace the screen. |

udemzyudex: Is there any DIY fix I can try?? It's just a laptop I keep in my second home for movies mostly... I don't think I want to spend a dime on it |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by udemzyudex(m): 9:04pm On Jan 01 |
Amicable24: Unless you want to change the screen which you can fix but trying to fix the dim display issue is... Well, you can take out the battery, remove the screen bezel, use your screw driver to remove the screws holding the screen and check the screen flex(signal cable) if it is properly connected. |
