The University of Machakos is expected to launch a Witchcraft Degree, setting a milestone as the second institution in the world to give the same.

Speaking during the launch, the Vice-Chancellor said that tens of students had already been drawn by the course and the University planned to leverage local capital to make the course a success.

In the greater Machakos County, we have a lot of indigenous expertise that can be harnessed for the benefit of society and this is the first step towards incorporating this knowledge. We hope that this course will help young people and the younger generation so that valuable historical and cultural knowledge is not missed. In our country, every batch of NYSC produces at least 50,000 graduates; there are 3 batches per year soo NYSC alone produces at least 150k graduates yearly. Each one of them writes final year project as prerequisite before graduating but we still don’t see these projects translating into our technological advancement. In this same country, witchcraft will happen and no one; no leader or pastor or imam or Doctor or PhD doctor can explain it to you. Soo I think studying witchcraft in an African uni will either open our eyes to it’s applicable uses or give us reason to dump it altogether; at least we’ll know what it is instead of worshiping white peoples God or Arab peoples God blindly.
