I don't agree with this paradigm shift in WAEC. How would practicals in science and technical subjects be done? Are we still as a Nation interested in becoming Tech giants like Japan, Germany?...where is this country actually headed to? There are advanced countries that still use papers. WHY NOT MAKE THE QUESTION PAPER TYPES MANY. AS MANY AS EVEN 100, and different exam markers assigned to the question types. It's a step towards curbing exam malpractice. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: WAEC: Computer-based Test Will Lead To Mass Failure In Northern Nigeria by Arabaincubus: 12:13pm On Jan 06 |
Who is looking for the reason why Nigeria is backward? You have your answer here. They have lowered the pass mark for JAMB to 50/400; they now want WAEC to set exams in Arabic. Afterwards, they will demand their own quota of employment with their contrived large size. The result is a country of illiterates with the nomenclature of Chief Executives, Ministers, Perm Secs, Directors, etc. How do you hope that your country will make progress with these lowered standards? The chicken should stop bending its neck for the pot that is only cooking its meat, and concentrate on the knife that deployed it to the great beyond. |

Going right is no way to the north, but to the south the right way is the way out. |
Re: WAEC: Computer-based Test Will Lead To Mass Failure In Northern Nigeria by johannu(m): 12:33pm On Jan 06 |
ExudeLoveToAll: With the north, Nigeria is going nowhere. The north is never ready for anything that will advance Nigeria. Electronic voting...No State police...No Restructuring ... No Resource control...No Etc. The north have a way of lowering the standards for their people to meet up. Because they couldn't meet up with the high standard of WAEC, they created NECO so that their people can pass the O' level easily. They see ICAN too hard, they created ANAN as easy route for their olodo people to be chartered accountants. And because Nigeria is not one, we have Nollywoood and Kannywood. Soon they are going to break out of Nigerian Bar Association. Forget it, with the north, there is no future for Nigeria. |

These people are the architect of their own backwardness. They are not ready for improvement at all. Their leaders/elites have failed to enlighten them. |

DamnnNiggarr: He’s right! Many factors will lead to mass failure as far as computer based examination is concern. Such as the inability of some students to operate the system (especially in rural areas), network instability etc. |
Re: WAEC: Computer-based Test Will Lead To Mass Failure In Northern Nigeria by Atlantis585: 1:07pm On Jan 06 |
Absolute nonsense. These are the same people who will soon become presidents, governors, heads at NNPC, NPA, CBN, Army and Police with NEPA bills as certificates and diplomas and not be able to read or write (Buhari types). So Nigeria must remain in Stone Age just because some people have refused to move ahead like the rest of the country and the world? Let them fail if they can’t compete with others. Useless people. Always looking for favorable treatment rather than ways to get better. |

The elite North seems to prefer keeping the majority of their population in darkness. I remember GEJs efforts towards improving their education sector by building well equipped schools for the almajiris. What did their leaders do thereafter? The North is wealthy enough to do better for their children.... if and when they decide to. |
Re: WAEC: Computer-based Test Will Lead To Mass Failure In Northern Nigeria by TimmyA: 2:05pm On Jan 06 |
The paper based WAEC, even self, is it not nonsense they are writing? I am always happy whenever I am marking script from that part of Nigeria. It is easier to mark jargons and nonsense, it takes no stress to mark the wrong answers on time and finish the parcel except for some serious ones among them. They always write the same thing, after marking 10 scripts from a parcel, marking others becomes very easy, that you don't need to be checking the marking guide, except for the serious students among them |

At least it will make the elite from the north to be serious and develop their town if they can't then they should go and write NECO. WAEC is international and as such they shouldn't dictate what they should do. |
