OFFICE OF THE ACCOUNTANT GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION

Press Release

*OAGF DOES NOT MAKE PAYMENTS ON BEHALF OF MDAs*

The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Dr Oluwatoyin Madein, has clarified that the OAGF does not make payments on behalf of MDAs for projects and programmes implemented by the MDAs.

The AGF was reacting to media reports concerning a request from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to pay grants to vulnerable groups in some States of the Federation.

She stated that allocations are released to self-accounting MDAs in line with the budget, and such MDAs are responsible for the implementation of their projects and payments for such projects.

In a statement in Abuja, the AGF explained that although her Office received the said request from the Ministry, it did not carry out the payment. The Ministry was, however, advised on the appropriate steps to take in making such payments in line with the established payment procedure.

The AGF noted that in such situations, payments are usually processed by the affected Ministries as self-accounting entities and no bulk payment is supposed to be made to an individual’s account in the name of Project Accountant.

She added that such payment should be sent to the beneficiaries through their verified bank accounts.

Dr. Madein reiterated her determination to uphold the principles of accountability and transparency in the management of public finances. She advised MDAs to always ensure that the requisite steps are taken in carrying out financial transactions.

Director (Press)

Let us make this clear to Nairalanders that do not understand what exactly is going on,
Here you have it....

This document we are talking about showed that the payment of the N585.198 million grant, meant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun and Lagos states, was made into one Bridget Oniyelu’s account.
However, reacting to this the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister,
Rasheed Zubair said N585.198 million payment for the vulnerable group followed due process.

From all of us at MANNA, this is our take on this issue,
Personal money shall in no circumstances be paid into a government bank account,
nor shall any public money be paid into a private bank account.

An officer who pays public money into a private account is deemed to have done so with fraudulent intention.
This is what Obi Pandora did in Anambra State that we are against.
Stealing the state money and transferring it to his family account.
He frittered away their state treasury to fund his family business as revealed in Pandora papers.
Being caught with 250 million in cash!
We say no to FRAUD in all ramifications.

A better Nigeria 🇳🇬 all around is all we want.

We Rise ✔️

Freepalestine:

If all of us could behave and reason as responsible as you,we would have been hoping for a new Nigeria,so as to bring the necessary change we desire.Live together in peace and harmony,Love is each other as brothers we are...Spread Love among each other not hatred...
We will get there someday.
We are doing our best at dem MANNA.
Many people are keying in to a better nation and being positive about our darling nation.

We say No to all form of corruption no matter the individual or party.
This is the ONLY way we can move forward as a country.
God bless all sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians.
God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

This statement is contradictory to what the minister said.

Oga AGF you and Betta are liars.

In the initial thread; this was said..

The document also showed that the payment of the N585.198 million grant, meant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun and Lagos states, was made into Oniyelu’s account.

Too much loopholes in Nigeria system. I'm very sure, all these ministries and agencies must have seen the rate of looting during Buhari regime and think the same will still continue unabated. But it seems women are somehow desperate these days and their ways of looting is even more daring than that of men.

So who made the payment that was traced to the Individual account? Was it done without the OACGF Knowing?

See the Party you support and their doings, yet you want Nigeria to be good. So how possible?
