GboyegaD:one of my neighborh's child steal alot. His elder brother and father gave him a thorough beating. The moment he remembers that if he should do anything stupid, there are people standby that'd beat the living day light out of him. This boy is now a complete changed person. He should be 24 by now. Beating help alot! I don't know if you're a religion person or not, even the Bible support spanking a child that's going astray. I can't really recollect the Bible verse though. foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him". |

Withdraw her from the boarding school. Take the phone from her permanently. Become her best friend she can confide in. So that whenever something like this wants to happen, you would easily sense it. Try to know the kind of female friends she keeps. If her peers are lesbians or flirts, she'll definitely tow that path. Cos like the saying. "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are" You've done well by taking up the matter. Don't let it slide. Continue keeping an eye on her. She's a girl, guys would keep coming. Educate her on the dangers of premarital sex. 1 Like |

didi100:This is just the beginning. Follow her bumper to bumper and always pray for her because at the end of the day, she will still make her choices, whether good or bad. We can only guide them so that when that time comes, our guidance will influence those choices. That beating was very necessary, by the way. Don't mind those saying you shouldn't have flogged her. This generation of parents have chosen to spare the rod, which is why the children they are bringing up are nothing to write home about 4 Likes |

Stop flogging your female children in the name of love, that is how she will start associating love to brutality, and that is how domestic violence starts. I have met girls that if u don't beat them, they would say you don't love them this is how it starts. And lastly why the f....ck are u hugging ur sister, we are Africans sha and such things are alien to us, no go allow devil use u 2 Likes |

Re: xxxxxxx by GboyegaD(m): 3:58pm On Jan 06 |
Lifeinlight: In my opinion, beating can correct ill behaviors however, things like this need emotional intelligence to educate the child on why this shouldn't be her priority. She's shown she's knowledgeable albeit, from the things she's heard from a manipulation perspective. Therefore, what is needed is using the trust the child has in you to reorient her in the right path truthfully. |

Re: xxxxxxx by Acidosis(m): 4:13pm On Jan 06 |
I will not support the idea of beating/flogging a child until her body gets swollen. Beating, of course, is necessary but not to that extent. If I were you, I'll apologise for going extreme. That way, she can trust you again. Moving on, learn to control your anger so you don't end up in prison. For every other thing you've done, 👍 |

WhisperedNoise:Long time ke? I'm usually around o, though not as much as before because of time constraints and majorly because the forum is becoming a cesspit. Hope you're good? |
Re: xxxxxxx by Ishilove: 4:20pm On Jan 06 |
Acidosis:Dakun, please where in his post did he state that he flogged her until her body was swollen? Someone else mentioned it on this thread and I've gone back twice to reread the post but I can't find it. Abi na me no dey see well? |
Re: xxxxxxx by Acidosis(m): 4:45pm On Jan 06 |
Ishilove: Maybe he revised that comment. I didn't find those exact words either. I believed the poster because he (the op) did not deny what the poster mentioned. |
Re: xxxxxxx by jamesversion: 5:06pm On Jan 06 |
GboyegaD:I advised him in the initial thread not to pet his little sister on this issue, to flog her very well and take her down to those boy(s) and threaten, if possible, beat the hell out of them and still report to his mother and the parents of the boy(s). That is how an elder brother acts, if not, inside this Nigeria, they will mess his sister up badly. Also, For your reading delight. Proverbs 13v24: Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Proverbs 23:13&14. 13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die. 14 Punish them with the rod and save them from death. Proverbs 20:30 30 Physical punishment cleanses away evil; such discipline purifies the heart. You still deserve better planking for your miserable advice to him. Better 2x2 plank on that your coconut head. 1 Like |

jamesversion:Interesting that you quote Scripture to support your stance regarding violence against children. Do you know what eventually happened to the people of Israel to whom those verses were given by their "wise men"? God eventually punished and scattered them for refusing to obey Him after all He put them through. He destroyed the Nation of Israel around 700 BC and scattered all the people of the Nation of Israel to the end of the end beginning of that time. The country called Israel today is nothing of the Nation of Israel that God Himself created and constituted in the Land of Canaan. OP says he flogged the girl. We are yet to know what comes next but you already concluded that the girl is changed from this one event. Isn't that a tad naive on your part? |
Re: xxxxxxx by GboyegaD(m): 5:31pm On Jan 06 |
jamesversion: If beating works the way you all claim, Nigeria should be much better than it is right now. Parents wey dey beat pikin say e steal and the parent dey still from government etc. Abi no be people wey dem beat anyhow full government? Abeg, no make letter kill you because na spirit dey give life ooo. Because you dey quote like say na you write Bible but e no sure say you dey do everything wey Bible talk. |
Re: xxxxxxx by jamesversion: 5:32pm On Jan 06 |
Kobojunkie: If you'd rather plead and beg your child not to be bad, good for you. But the good ol' koboko is way to go for real Christians. I don't expect you to accept my views, especially as you aren't a Christian. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: xxxxxxx by Kobojunkie: 5:34pm On Jan 06 |
jamesversion:The way for Christians ofcourse. The Koboko did not work for the Israelites.... they still didn't obey God at the end of the day and God eventually had to curse and scatter them like Moses said He would - Deuteronomy 30 vs 1 - 6. So, it seems Christians are not intelligent at all in that they blindly copy ideas without in fact asserting the worth of those ideas. By the way, why not at least consider the fact that even with all of the flogging of your many Christian groups today, Nigeria remains a cesspit that one cannot write home about? I mean we are talking of over 60 years of Christianity in Nigeria and still nothing good to show for it — the citizenry, many raised and flogged mercilessly by their Christian parents are just as corrupt as the country itself. |
Re: xxxxxxx by GboyegaD(m): 5:37pm On Jan 06 |
Uyi168: Tell me you believe many are not wayward despite the beatings? A country where we all know the extent of corruption naim you dey talk like say the beatings change things? Walahi, wetin beatings do pass na say e change people's tactics. |
Re: xxxxxxx by jamesversion: 5:43pm On Jan 06 |
GboyegaD:The parents have to be an exemplar to their kids, else the actions of the parents is inherently hypocritical. It is expected that your child should look up to you for good. That is the basis. I sabi Bible na. I repented when I was 12yrs old. I'm late 30s, e no easy sha as devil no dey gree, especially with women. |

Re: xxxxxxx by jamesversion: 5:48pm On Jan 06 |
Kobojunkie: You need to discern the difference between Churchgoing and Christianity. There are as many churchgoers as mosque-goers in Nigeria. But Nigeria is the way it is because of lack of sincerity in their religious lives. It is systemic and unfortunately will remain like this until this world is done away with. To believe Nigeria will be better is self deceit. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: xxxxxxx by Kobojunkie: 5:54pm On Jan 06 |
jamesversion:Nonsense! Na the same thing all of them be. LOL....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 2. Systemic? The rest of the world does not have anything close to what you have in Nigeria though so what in the world are you talking about abeg! 3. So what is the point of flogging your kids then?

Kobojunkie: So no be people children dey be Engineers, doctor, lawyer inside Nigeria. So you'd rather your kids turn out to be hook up girls and riffraffs? Even inside Sodom & Gomorrah, Lot and his family were God-fearing. Majority of Nigerians could be bad but good people still abound. Abeg, what you will. I'm done with you. |
