gergemam: Your experience seems well aligned for EP. Check out the technation discourse forum. There's a lot of resources there on writing your personal statement. Also, try to get someone to review your application before you submit. https://discourse.tnvisaforum.org/search?q=Personal%20statement 3 Likes 1 Share |

derbylicious: Use the official LITK handbook(10£ for a months access i think). Read it twice and go to exam. More importantly, ILR application fees now increased by 488 pounds extra. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Tier4Dependant: You are right, no need to ask for cancellation as you can have more than one COS. When you get a visa with a COS, the other COS automatically becomes invalid. |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by jedisco(m): 9:55am On Jan 07 |
NewT123: Not necessarily. Ran into a similar issue when I needed to extend my visa for a few weeks befor moving on to another role. Once the COS for the extension was issued, the new company I was eventually moving could not issue a new COSuntil I had used the last one. They kept encountering an error and I had to tell them why that was. |

@gergemam and anyone who is eligible or applying for the global talent visa (digital economy). Shall we indicate and purse this course together? I am a devops engineer in the UK, currently on psw visa but will like to switch to the GTV. Let's win together. |

derbylicious: From personal experience: 1. These mini video series by Tom Bradford is bae. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvo9seay2droiX3mLE5oHo_kEparXzKm1&si=cpyHsjjr-h6IFsHz 2. This £4.99 app on Apple Store ( I’m sure there is an android version) was all I needed: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/life-in-the-uk-test-2024/id1113930352 https://liuk.page/rniX 3. I see someone has provided another link, which I used too. The exams itself was a breeze. Prepare well & you can finish the exams in 5 minutes. 17 Likes 13 Shares

missjekyll: Fees for Life in the UK test is £50 for most Monday-Saturday bookings. Some centres charge up to £65 for Sunday bookings. The increased fee missjekyll (& Hyde) is referring to is the ILR (visa) application itself which increased sometime last year from £2,405 to £2,885 per applicant for normal (up to 26-week wait time application). You may be able to pay either an extra £500 (for priority) or £1,000 (super priority) to cut waiting times to 5 days or 1 day respectively. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hopefullllll: Yes there was an HMRC lawyers (G7 grade if I recall correctly) role open recently that stated this explicitly but some others don't. For instance there's a Government Legal Department one open now for 'qualified lawyers' but I know someone who got in as a Nigerian lawyer and is now working on qualifying here via the SQE. You can apply for that one, and just keep searching the civil service jobs website for 'lawyer' and related keywords, and keep an eye on the results. |

cbn4main: Yes you do. Your COS has a start and end date. At the end date, it becomes invalid. Hence you need a new COS to extend your stay or renew your visa |
