Nigerian Governors are hypocritical thieves, in varying degrees. Like Buhari, Tinubu hasn't failed to pay FAAC so far.

Why should we be scrutinising Tinubu's 7 months in office but not holding the (newly-elected) Governors to the same standards? What have Fubara, Umo Eno, Sheriff, and other Niger-Delta Governors done in these 7 months too given the relatively large amounts they collect?

Those from this geopolitical area are coincidentally the most visible critics of Tinubu on this thread but I have never seen them hold their respective state governors to the same standard. It's the same for most of the citizenry - mostly depicting governors as powerless.
Can we start dissecting state government expenditures like we do to the FG too?

I do that but would increase the frequency. Let's do more. Our Governors are accusatory thieves.

I quite agree with your stance but why I think most Nigerians usually hold FG accountable mostly is the issues that have to do with national importance. The security and economy and inflations . While I think the various SGs performance is the sum of all these at the national level, it is of importance to note that the policies that shape these are handled mostly by FG.

You don't expect SG to fix the economy or the insecurities when it clearly falls on FG. And these are issues that affect livelihood of a common man on the street on a daily basis.

Another thing is fear of prosecution. The media are so fixate on FG with little on some state especially the Northern part of the FG.
Take my state for instance (note: I'm from Gabon,Estuaire precisely), People are afraid of the state govt. He has his gangs or non state actors who are ready to send you to your maker if you want to run yah mouth.

We've had many people that were killed and thrown into Rivers. If I didn't say it, you won't know of it. That's how bad it is.....

So, you see when some people are fixate on FG, they are either making use of their wisdom or they have nothing to lose again or both!

We also have an angle of religious interpretation of not calling your leader out too Most especially in public forgetting we are not operating Sharia in Nigeria.

That's why you see few Northerners on social media voicing out. Very few because most people believe what's happening is already predestined by God so your protest, calling out or any action will not change anything.
Thank God they are seeing the results on their States now.

Until people come together and demand accountability with one voice ( which I doubt) be rest assured, they will continue using various lines to exploit us.

You are still not getting the context why other women were disagreeing with her post. Nobody said anything was wrong waking up to cook for her husband. Read the tweet below. Am sure someone now will tag her a wicked feminist. Now let's turn it around. You saw a tweet were a man said his wife came home and told him how her male co worker was always dashing her 5k everyday for her to eat lunch since she doesn't go with food and the man then said from that day henceforth he started giving her 6k to eat lunch before something else will develop between his wife and her co worker. How will you respond to it. Will you be here praising the man or calling him a useless simp?
Herd mentality won't let them think.

Exactly why I've always insisted for long only ignorant people take the faux outrage and sanctimonious stances of these self-styled Twitter activists and good governance advocates seriously.

They are mostly in bed with their respective misgoverning state governments. I stated it yesterday, again. They don't give a tuppence about you, or the corruption, or those behind Mohbad's death... You are nothing more than higher engagement enablement and visibility to be cashed at the bank of opinion-shaping and talking points.

The real activists never position themselves to be activists, tag themselves as such, and try to shape and make every topical issue be about them. Large-sized neon 'Ls' for those who believed they were real.

She will either have to resign or be pushed out

So, in other words, the federal government is more democratic than most state governments given its allowance of relatively more freedom of speech and press freedom? This in itself weakens the almost onerous focus it gets.

"Let's keep attacking this snake which doesn't fight back swallowing our eggs, but, please ignore the other snakes even as they swallow our eggs; if you fight them, they'd come after us. "

The real question is, with have state governments get, what have they done with it?

The economy is factored by many things and indices. Yam,, potatoes, garri, and pepper are very cheap in the interiors of Benue and Cross River States. Transporting those food items involves a lot of risks which come with financial and security costs.
The roads to and from these interiors are bad and very insecure. Remind me, again: Who's in-charge of fixing intra-state roads and ensuring intra-state security primarily? Misters Governors, no?

And that's how cheap food end up in Port Harcourt, Ikeja, Uyo, Akwa, and the likes very costly. That's how incompetent state governors play a very significant role in wrecking the economy. Remember? Inflation has mostly been more complained about due to food item price hikes, which are in turn partly due to these factors.
The above is just one instance.

My point has and still is sharing blames and holding both the central and state governments to the same accountability demands. Excusing one while almost solely heaving the blames on the other would only continue to hurt us.

How will you respond to it. Will you be here praising the man or calling him a useless simp?

Regarding the attached picture, I wouldn't say that the situation is a case of fear in the relationship.

Acts of service, happen to be a love language generally appreciated by men. It's natural for a woman who loves her man to step up to the plate when she feels uncomfortable that her man is getting what she thinks she should be solely providing...it's actually beautiful.

Now, to your theory that men may react badly if the script was flipped, I think not. Especially if it's an exact scenario type of thing.

The woman is not handicapped...she was just too lazy to wake in the morning and cook for her husband.

Now, if there's a case where a man who is not financially handicapped, say a Davido, comes online to say that one man was giving Chioma 5K for food and he decided to give her 5m per month for same, I don't think anybody will call Davido a simp.
It will just be a case of power pass power.

It's totally different if the woman was handicapped due to stress and just had to cook so she doesn't lose her man...or a man is totally broke and has to shell out more money to his woman so she doesn't get enticed by others; that's where the simping and toxic patriarchy can come in.

It's a beautiful story. If I get, me sef for donate. tongue

As others have pointed out, this woman seems to have been stealing with impunity for so long that she had thrown all caution and common sense to the winds.

Could not even make an effort to package her larceny.
