IjeBos: Appeal to authority fallacy. Okoro feeling funky. Whether someone has physically been to a place has little bearing on their ability to learn about it or develop informed opinions. With today's technology and access to information, one does not need to personally visit a place to become knowledgeable. Dismissing or discrediting someone's (basilico) perspective solely based on the argument that they haven't visited a place is an irrational appeal to authority. It wrongly assumes physical presence is required to have credibility. There are many valid reasons someone may not have visited a place, unrelated to their interest or knowledge. Resources, circumstances, and access issues could prevent travel. Interest and curiosity do not require physical presence. People can care about or want to learn about places they have not visited. Curiosity about other cultures and places is natural. Discussions and exchanges of perspectives do not require first-hand experience. Dialogue is how we learn from each other. Claiming someone cannot discuss a place they haven't visited stifles open conversation. So in summary, dismissing someone's perspective or right to discuss a place solely because they haven't visited relies on a flawed appeal to authority and flawed assumptions. Curiosity and learning do not require physical presence. So how do you know that basilico has never been to the United States? 6 Likes 2 Shares |

benalvino3: 1.) You should probably google and learn what an appeal to authority fallacy is. It's clear from your post you don't understand it. Par for the course for you. 2.) We should file this in "writing things that illuminate your lacking world view". Only someone who doesn't understand education, knowledge or expertise would pen a post like this. Par for the course for a no-nothing Republican wannabe who thinks he is an expert in everything. 3.) Posts like this also make it abundantly clear why I have the education that I do and you write posts in which you sound like English is your 3rd language. This post was one of the dumbest shit I've ever read. |

benalvino3: benalvino3: Read these posts; do they even make sense to you? You string words together (usually far right talking points), randomly place punctuations marks (if even that), then call them sentences that supposedly communicate some thought. They are not. The sad thing is that you are not embarrassed that you write so poorly, because you are too stupid to understand you write so poorly. I was just in Naij. There were a lot of Ivy league grads doing big things. What school did you go to again? You should probably shut up while the big boys talk. 1 Like 1 Share |

IjeBos: DEI-jebos English monkey see your eff ups. Punctuation this and that yet you are bad at it. You are already an exposed loser. We changed you and made you a better behaved adult on a faceless forum. You don't pull out your spreadsheet or brag with photos of other people's property. You have I and Sly to thank for that. 3 Likes |

basilico: You always reaffirm my reading about your awfulness by actually doing the same thing. How can you believe this senile dementia criminal? Did you hear Jack Smith has uncovered new evidence from the criminals own aides and one that's going to eventually nail him for good? Do you think your idiotic arguments will win in the face of witnesses who are going to testify against the criminal? Witnesses who are Republicans? |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by basilico: 9:59am On Jan 08 |
IjeBos: Fools never realise what they are. Perfect Grammar you may have, reasoning and understanding skills you lack. Nelson Mandela was asked by his professor what he would chose. Wisdom or money. He answered money. The white prof retorted that if it were him he would chose wisdom Mandela calmly answered, "Everyone chooses what he does not have". 3 Likes |

Obrigardo: There is a legal case whether Jack Smith is qualified as Special Counsel at SCOTUS. Between now and then I expect him to throw everything he has to justify his illegal politicized appointment by a SCOTUS reject. |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by Obrigardo: 12:42pm On Jan 08 |
basilico: You are not making sense. What do you mean by scotus reject? Mitch and the gang stopped Garland because it was "election year" but they didn't have any problem confirming the religious cult lady in an election year. But now he is Attorney General and more powerful than your whole clan put to together (not an insult). The fact is that all witnesses against the criminal trump are Republicans and closest former aides like Dan scavino, his current social media guy. |

basilico: Fyi, the Nelson Mandela quote is pure fiction, since you may not understand the definition of fiction, it means it did not happen. Par for the course for an idiot who spends most of his life on a forum propagating bullshit and his sole source of education is Twitter and Instagram. Aren't you embarrassed already? But, let's go deeper here since it seems we've gone full circle. Isn't this the point I was initially making. You have no real experience on the topic you are talking about (I'm sure you haven't really read anything about Nelson Mandela or studied his life) yet sit on this thread spreading Bullshit you heard somewhere on Social Media. Aside: Given you have neither wisdom nor money, if you were in that made up scenario it'd be a tough choice wouldn't it? Food for thought. I stayed at my boy's house on Banana for a few days while I was in Lagos. My boy went to Yale, wife Stanford. They spent 2 full days editing their daughters Yale, Harvard and MIT applications/essays. My boy in his office upstairs, wife downstairs with 2 other people. It was impressive the advantages the daughter has(legacies, top US boarding schools etc..) Yet her parents still invested this amount of time in their applications. You are here talking about DEI and making fun of Harvard, while your kids (that you don't see) have already lost the competition, by your stupidity, they aren't even aware they are in. Well done, you've effectuated the work of the Southern Whites and self selected yourself out of progress. Enjoy being the tallest mental midget.

benalvino3: Lol, the fictional message is what Basilico is trying to channel? I'm glad you finally understand his role here. Lol. "Fiction or Not", lol. I'm sure it's a well practiced phrase for you. Probably your motto. I think my expose here is done. Your posts are always so revelatory in helping one understand how much of an idiot you really are. It's like I call you an idiot and you say, hold my beer, I'll show you how much of an idiot I really am. The made up Mandela story was icing on the cake. I appreciate your help. Enjoy competing for Nairaland's tallest mental midget. |

I love this new Pres. Biden's vigour. And the timing is just so right now that he speaks more and a lot of Americans are now listening. Why republiqans are sharply divided and criminal trump is losing support. Even those "paid-for" polls or biased republican only interviewees polls are not working. 1 Like 1 Share |

IjeBos: Basilico 100% correct!!! basilico: A foolish man built his house on sand near the shore. When a storm swept in, the floods eroded the sand and the winds battered the house until it collapsed. The same man later saw a wise man build his house on solid rock atop a hill. When the next storm came, that house stood firmly against wind and rain. The foolish man finally understood that building one’s life on the unstable and unsure without wisdom leaves one vulnerable while making choices with prudence and insight leads to security. What you just read is a parable. So Basilico was passing a message. A wise person will grapple with the message being conveyed here. Meanwhile, a less sensible reader may will focus on something else. You avoid reckoning with the essential truths at the core of what has said. The fool ije will say "My friend sends his daughter to Harvard, they spent time writing crap so don't criticize Harvard" The person you call your boy is sending his daughter to University. Either you are 40 or you are a liar. Also, you are stuck at my girlfriend is this, my girlfriend is that. You have been to Naija for the 3rd time now or 2nd. The other time you spent your time there in a cheap hotel filled with prostitutes, this time you are crashing on a friend's couch 🙂 big boy. Ur babe nko? She lives in a house with armed security, butlers etc. Why do you avoid her? Dreamer 🤣 4 Likes |

benalvino3: Jesus, this post.. just poorly written tripe. What's worse is you tried to use a thesaurus, but are so unfamiliar with the words you chose, you don't even understand their connotations to use them correctly. It's embarrassing that anyone can consistently write this poorly esp. someone over 17. What can you possibly do for a living that allows you to communicate this badly? Here's some wisdom for you, focus less on what I do in Lagos and more on your money, education and getting custody of your children. Listen, you have children out of wedlock who you do not have custody of and cannot possibly support. It would seem you should have better things to worry about than how I spent my 3 country 17 day vacation, how much time I spent in the Radisson Blu, Kempinski or with my friends on Banana Island or Ikoyi or how many of Tony Elumelu's parties I attended or who I'm dating. |
