No, you cannot apply for a renewal at this stage. In order for Nigeria Immigration Service to process your request for passport renewal, your passport must have six months validity.

Thanks so much for this. I want to clarify, when replacing lost passport, will it maintain same expiration period in the old passport or will it have the extended period applied for in the replacement? Say 10years

A Nigerian passport applicant born before 1992 will present an affidavit of birth from the High Court, while a birth certificate from NPC will be presented by any person born in Nigeria after 1992.

Pls someone should help me with number I can call my wife's passport it taking longer than expected she captured since November 30 today makes it 6weeks and it not ready yet pls I'm feeling they are doing this on pourpose in Abk.

She captured Nov 30 and you expect it to have been ready by now? Imagine what you even said " They're doing it for a purpose"

Anyways let her go from on the 1of March by then is already 3months

Ahh if 6 weeks is not enough for a passport to be ready which backlogs did they now clear besides I've seen people pick up in 3 weeks in same location I did my own in a different location and I got it in 2weeks.
