Kenya receives first visa-free arrivals at JKIA

First batch of visa-free travelers at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Kenya has today received the first batch of Visa-free arrivals through the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Immigration Principal Secretary Julius Bitok said they have received over 5,000 ETA applications and approved at least 2,100 of those.

According to the PS, visitors are required to apply for the ETA via the e-Citizen platform, at a cost of Sh4,600. Applications will take up at least 72 hours to be approved.

Travellers are encouraged to apply for the ETA at least three days before their travel for eligibility.

“Arrivals will fill in their data which takes less than ten minutes. They will then get approval within 72 hours,” said Bitok.

Further, proper security systems have been put in place to ensure that no visitors pose security threats.
eCitizen revenue collection surpasses Sh900m in a day.

If a visitor is making a business visit they will be required to show an invitation letter from the company and a copy or registration of the company.

Those making family visits will need invitation letters from their hosts and an identity card/Passport of the host.

Additionally, those making diplomatic visits will be required to present a Diplomatic passport will be and an official letter from their origin country.

Citizens from the East African Community (EAC) are exempted from the ETA.

Residents of EAC do not need the Electronic Travel Authorization.

And, please when you get to Kenya, be careful with Kenyans, those people are something else when they know you are a Nigerian. They have this mindset that all Nigerians are damn rich, making them use all manner of tactics, good or bad to get something from you.

In all my travels, i thought nigerian police are the worse thieves on earth, until you meet a Kenyan police or immigration. While i give kudos to the Nigerian police & immigration for sometimes been smart in trying to extort you, the kenyan ones are quite dumb! The moment they see a Nigeria, they will feel you have oil wells in your pocket. Such a shameless place to go anyway! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin. Beside their ladies, there is nothing worth going to Kenya for.

Kindly go with hidden camera, and snap the crooks.

Business opportunities is something you have to go see, analyze and decide for your self based on your capabalities for instance, available capital, skills, time etc. On a personal note, i will not advise a Nigerian to go live or set up a business in Kenya.

I always tell Nigerians dont just go to kenya...... First come to Rwanda, i help you register your business and get you a work permit. With your PR, you are entitle to 90 free access to Kenya without any corrupt immigration personel saying shit. And this access to Kenya, you wont pay for visa..... Kenya can not deport you even if you over stay the 90 days. Once the 90 days is about to complete, just take a bus to back to Rwanda, and go back...you get another 90 days free access to kenya.

We have helped a lot of Nigerians through this way and as i write, they are all in nairobi running the deals and enjoying what they went there for. But if you make the mistake of just heading straight to Kenya, firstly i guarantee you it ont be a good experience except you have money to continue bribing them. And be ready to bribe even your landlord, your girl friend, everyone.....

Kenyans are thieves...... we know them in East Africa. recently a Kenyan tried to collect the company a Rwandan set up in Kenya, because he used him to fill the requirement for local partner. The Company has an investment of more $40,000 which the Rwandan wired to him. As the Company picked up in the Market, the crook tried to collect the company from him. That is how they behave.
