The way he talks is like he doesn't know what he's doing with this team. It is an entirely different thing if these players decide to take things into their hands and make this coach look good las las. But for now, lower expectations. 1st game should show us how tactically prepared he is for the likes of senegal, Egypt and Morocco in KO stages. Till then |

MetalJigsaw: You no even thank God say him club release am? Now NFF can see the nonsense plan they and Peseiro made with inviting only 25 players. 2 injured. Moffi and Kelechi under probability. May God help us to scale through the group stage. Now think of it, if Iwobi or Osimhin gets injured, how it will look like. 3 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Amedino99(m): 10:19pm On Jan 09 |
MetalJigsaw:we play on Sunday. Even at that, the fact that it was a late call up meant we disrupted their team plans so it's only fair they hold him till Saturday. If only we had some home based in the preliminary squad, we wouldn't have been in worry at all. PJ's reluctance to include new players into the team would be his downfall. It may seem like praying bad for us but I don't want pj to win this nations cup for us. The way afcon is, you don't necessarily need to be the best to win it. A really crazy streak of luck is enough to win it. Pj winning it would mean he continues and it would only mean we would continue to go backward. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Odunayaw: This is true, even Argentina played a 4-4-2 at times during the last WC but the difference is the 4 across the midfield had at least 3 actual midfielders in Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernandez and Alex Mac Allister. It was more of a 4-3-3 as Messi would play as a RW and Alvarez as ST. We play 4-4-2 but with only two midfielders. That is the issue. 1 Like |

zicky:you can't always be unlucky forever. The way this team is playing does not even inspire the smallest hope in me at all. It's one thing to be losing while playing well or decent but our own is to be dragging with low tier teams. I still can't believe we couldn't pick at least 3 points from the wcq in November. I don't any option but to support but we don't inspire any hope at all. 3 Likes |

Truidstarr: Just to chip in.. Man City weren't exactly a useless club.. they were more like just an average club.. A club many people didn't expect much from.... So their supporters couldn't have abandoned them, given that they didnt really have high expectations from them... The Arabs coming in totally changed things.. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Danielnino00(m): 11:04pm On Jan 09 |
mrwilliams9: Another issue with our own 4-4-2 is that the two players that ought to start RM and LM aren't exactly adapted to the role.. I'm referring to the duo of Lookman and Chukwueze..Even Simon isn't that adapted to the role... They drift away from midfield too often and that leaves space for opponents to explore... I'll say it again, if Peseiro wants to stick with playing 2 forwards up front, 3-5-2 is his best bet.. 1 Like 1 Share |

Danielnino00: 100% with you on the bolded. 3-5-2 would be the best as it helps stabilize our MF and gives cover to our back line. Our strengths are in attack and the wing back areas. This formation would maximze our strengths while mitigating our weaknesses, but this JP guy na better fool. 1 Like |

mrwilliams9:This is one of the most intelligent observation and analysis i have seen so far. My initial proposition for personnel deployment from the left wing through the midfield to the right wing were: Chidera Ejuke, Kelechi Nwakali, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi. The aforelisted players are all midfielders, with Chidera Ejuke and Alex Iwobi having the ability to play as wingers. 2 Likes |
