Creeknigga:

Don't mind the OP.
The LGAs he mentioned are all Ikwerre; ObioAkpor, Emuoha, PHALGA, Ikwerre.
So, who was he expecting to be chairmen there?
The other LGA chairmen having ties with Ikwerre nationality to be made chairmen is just laughable.
So a chairman of Ogu/Bolo will have ties with Ikwerre nationality to be made chairman?
Op dey on colos

He just wanted to paint Wike bad. Or maybe Ikwerre people bad.

Ok, I coined the name myself to illustrate my point. A suitable name that encompasses all of us and is readily acceptable to all can be coined.

First, they need to see reason why they have to pull themselves together as one and stave off this seeming assault by Ijaws on the uplanders. In the face of this adversity, clinging to localised identity is most trivial.

You seriously sound like an Igbo who has a grouse with Ikwerres.

I am not Igbo and I am not comfortable when Ikwerre is called Igboid tribe by Igbo people, as a backyard way of forcing their identity.

That term Igboid was coined by a foreigner in University of Portharcourt few years ago, who was grouping languages that have affinity or common terms. This is normal worldwide.

She did not group ethnicity or tribes but languages.
Some people are now grouping people as their “Igboid tribes” that must be part of their breakaway country.

She never even mentioned ‘dialects’ in her work but some people began to use it to claim that certain tribes or ethnicities speak “their dialect” so must be part of them.

Normally I do not engage myself with petty Rivers State Oil and Gas inspired Politics of ethnic Nationalities but my problem with you is that I rarely see you engaged the Ijaws when they term Kalabari, Ibani and Wakrike Ethnic Nationalities as Ijaw or Ijoid.

I never read where the OPs or proponents of Igboid world talk about succession here. I am not a proponent of Biafra and many people I know mention Ikwerre and other Igboid Ethnic nationalities in the context of Igbo unity just as the great Ijaw Nation is doing in most of our riverine areas.

As a self appointed defender of Rivers Ethnic Nationalities, I would want to see you rise up and critize Ijaws from Bayelsa and elsewhere equally as you do to Igbos from the South East region.

As I normally advise my friends and others, If you have problems with Ipob, go to their webpage and comfront them. Nairaland is for Nigerians and others to get unbiased and accurate information.

If you are not confortable with Igbos, then that is your cup of tea. Do not generalised. You are not Ikwerres spokesperson.

I know many Ikwerre people in my circle that are very happy to be called Igbos just as we have many Riverine Ethnic Nationalities folks that are happy to be called Ijaw. I also know many Ikwerres that claim to come from Bini same way some Riverine folks do not subscribe to being Ijaw.

When you think that the political crisis rocking Rivers State is over, you may be far away from the truth!
Below are the portfolios of people who wike had arranged to work with or to be on the guard on his successor Fubara:

1. Deputy Governor; Ikwerre woman
2. Speaker House of Assembly: Ikwerre man
3. Chief of Staff to the Governor; Ikwerre man
4. Chairman Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers; Ikwerre man
5. Mayor of Port Harcourt; Ikwerre man
6. State Chief Judge; Ikwerre man
7. Chairman Ikwerre LGA; Ikwerre man
8. Chairman Port Harcourt LGA; Ikwerre man
9. Chairman Emuoha LGA; Ikwerre man
10. Chairman Obio/Akpor LGA; Ikwerre man
11. Chairman GDI; Ikwerre man
12. President NYCN Rivers Chapter; Ikwerre youth
13. Senator, Rivers East; Ikwerre man
14. All the LGA's Chairmen, you must have at least one link or the other with Ikwerre ethnicity of Rivers State before you can rule your LGA.
15. Clark of the House of Assembly; Ikwerre man

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen as a governor, you have these kind of people surrounding you how will you breathe? Or how would you rule comfortably? Is this how our democracy supposed to be? Is it only the Ikwerres supposed to occupy these highly exalted offices in Rivers State? Is Wike a democrat? Only time will tell!

Sometimes some of us blame the governor for being nervous or quiet in the whole saga; this is the reason! To the extent that, when the goings were good between the duo, before the governor receives any visitor to the government house, he must notify wike in Abuja.

Any opinion that can help the governor out of this quagmire is welcomed!
Thank you all!

That's why I said the truth must be rebilled with time, some fellow is saying that for the fact that they speak Igbo does not mae them Igbo and a certain white prof used the Igboid slogan to qualify nearness to language but does not mean they are the same tribe.
All this procastinations are for the sole reason of economic benefits.. Now the confusion is what sort of unified Umbrellas will al this so called sub groups come under, forgetting that the Ijaws will always tell them who they are when the chips are down, the Hausas Fulanis of course know there original identity when the chips are down, the white Prof who hails from a race that changed their name to Rivers, has already given them a clue.

So the long and short story is, let's continue to look at them, let no one force anyone to identify with whoever the want to identify with, all man go answer him papa name sooner or latter.

If Etche and Ikweres share one ancestry then they are Igbos, Etche holds one of the most important Igbo diety as the custodians so we don't need the likes of you or all other oil and gas buccaneers to come and tell us our geneiologhy, we left you folks to keep decieving yourself s till the right time comes, the truth must be told some day.
It's the same way you cliam Obigbo, not to be Igbos because they are now named after a river..The same way you cliam Egbema of Imo state is not Igbo because of oil and gas, but posterity will catch up you all.
You Ikweres can cliam wherever you like no issue but you see Etche, you see Obigbo, you see Egbema, you see Omuma, the children of Jaja in Opbo that we will take it to any length with you people when the time comes, and no matter how you intimidate them into renouncing their identity, we still recognize them and that is what matters.
As for anyone in Rivers bearing Wike, ebere, Eke, Amadi et el dey play say you no be Igbo, abeg find another name answer, if you say you are from Benin, abeg make una dey answer Osaro, Igbenoba, obaseki, Oshomole and co.

Also, you have displayed Ignorance if you don't know that Ikwerres founded some communities in Ohahi and Ele-le community in Etche.

Also a good proportion of Ikwerres have Aro Ancestry and they are found in Igwuruta, Isiokpo, Elele.
