Our society has become a monitised society, therefore everybody is after money at the expense of godliness. Our value system has been eroded as no one cares about good virtue for a name any longer. The religion bodies that are supposed to champion social and moral re -engineering have collapse and compromised it primed function, everything is now business 2 Likes |

Because we Muslims Sabi Islam more than Saudi and Christians sabi Christianity more than British. I am a muslim but, but I am proud to say that all muslims in the Nigeria scheme of things are either poor or evil ambassadors of Islam. I knew quite alright that good christians will agree with me of same thing about christians in governance. Where are they now, the Islamization and christianization parrots during the last presidential campaigns? What is their position to CORRUPTION AND THEIR CORRUPT brethren in Nigeria? Discovered and ongoing discovering lootings and culprits here and there are muslims and Christians in the centre and periphery. Legisluters, Executheives and judicilooters are muslims and Christians as if the Qur'an and bible encourage or tolerate embezzlement of funds or manipulation of post and position for personal financial gains. Indeed, muslims and Christians are part and percel of Nigeria problems simply because what their taught them is not what they are display in the art and act of governance in Nigeria. |

We do not need to be so religious but to be honest and sincere in our daily lives. Nigeria will be great. But at the moment, we only dance to the gallery. 2 Likes |

Oyibo package religion give Nigerians so that they can be stupid in the means of the thiefery of their political class. That's why politicians don't fight church and mosque in Nigeria cos its purpose is to make the citizens subservient to all the wickedness and looting going on. |

Seunpapa65: The church is not a replacement for home training. Your parents are the ones who should have instilled values in you before you enter into any position where you are exposed to money. If you have no family name to protect, then you can go ahead and steal as much as you want, church or not. After all, Betta Edu goes to Winners Chapel and gave a testimony, but the bible says GOD IS NOT MOCKED. What you saw, you reap. You cannot come to a platform like Shiloh, and give a testimony when you know your ways go against the bible and what God says about stealing, especially when you use the poor as the platform for such embezzlement. Why did the suspended minister not go to Canaanland for immediate prayer if she knew her hands were clean? 1 Like 1 Share |

Siberia01:I can say that it is partly due to the fact that the religious entities are not the political authorities. Naturally, man is bound to misbehave if there are no strict sanctions. Our current political choice, democracy, doesn't assure that. If muslims are allowed to follow the Islamic dictates, a lot of nonsense can not happen. People can't steal at will, because they know they're going to the gallows. |

Siberia01: I have been trying to analyze our religion and I discovered that there is a fault. I would say our religion has a lot of grace or it's completely deceptive both Muslims and Christians. We need to find the true way of worship that will align to human development and protection. |

On very a very serious note the major problem of Nigeria is there are no consequences for bad behaviour. If square pegs were in square holes & not the other way round everything will fall in place. Nigeria as a country lack discipline that's all. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

It's not in Nigeria only but really an African thing. We're so much deep rooted in to religion that it tends to eat up our reasoning faculty. I see religion as rules enacted to guide people in doing this and doing that. Christianity, well, is a joke, a pure joke, cause why would you be saying you're a Christian and another Christian is practicing another type of doctrine. For instance, there are some churches that believes in tithe payments, some don't, some says women aren't allowed to wear men stuffs, some says nahh, God sees your heart and it's pure but isn't it said "out from the heart thinketh good and evil' before you wore that clothe, your conscience already has told you that cloth is short or isn't proper to wear. If God really sees your heart and knows it's pure then tell me can you wear a hooker heels and bummshorts to go see your governor?? I guess you'll be bounced out like a mad woman you are. Anyways, the church you're worshipping (with a different doctrine) how well do you think or know that church will lead you to heaven?? Christianity is basically confusion, religion is just stupid, it's the cause of war and hate but glad people are waking up, we're in a matrix. Your pastor is giving you useless stickers to put up on your door and car to protect yourself but he goes around with bodyguards and private securities, also a bulletproof car. Seriously do you really want to die in stupidity? 1 Like |

Siberia01: It's common sense. The devil is smart, it deploys more arsenals where he has more problems. The whites are already under his cover so he doesn't need to worry about them. The battle is in Africa where they love God more and work hard to serve him. What makes you feel every corrupt person in Nigeria is a Christian? Bros, are saying u no need to serve God because people in your country are corrupt? Which country in the world has no corrupt people? Wait until everybody in Nigeria becomes like the westerners before you fear and serve God you hear? The bible says "A Fool says in his heart that there is no God" Psalm 14:1 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Why Are Nigerians So Religious But Corrupt? by WHITELIGHTER: 1:19pm On Jan 11 |
Being religious doesn't mean one is righteous. Africans are more religious that's why. When you are righteous, the fear of God keeps you in line. Our religious leaders have successfully brainwashed us to believe salvation of our souls isn't as important as having the grace to make wealth. That's why u hear and see the word Grace plastered everywhere these days. Just make money and your sins are forgiven. The fear of hell fire doesn't carry weight anymore 1 Like 1 Share |

Galaticos444:It is not about the leaders having morals. It is about a system. If you do something over and over again it becomes a habit. A system is what puts ppl in line. A Nigerian that park on the side of the road in Nigeria will not try in the US nor because of morals...lol but by the time they tow and you pay 300usd or 400usd once....lol you go start to park for designated place. If you do that for 6 months you will find out that person now have the habit of parking at designated place. It will become habit over time. What we need is a system with consequences not useless latsma o or useless local government tout.. |
