Jorussia:Correct. Kogi comes to mind. Especially the Igalas who are seen as beaten, brutalized and wounded |

Odidigboigbo:bros no come confused us oo This is from latest Oxford dictionary "godfatherism (uncountable) (Nigeria) A form of political corruption in which an influential individual handpicks another, often less influential candidate, to attain leadership in order to exert authority or influence. This may be due to the unpopularity of one candidate, or to work around incumbency term limits." |

khattab02:That's the problem with so many Nigerians we are not always truthful. I have so many posts here where i supported esan governor despite being Bini myself. For over a month now, i discovered the ordinary voters are not interested in any ethnic agenda. Generally, religion and ethnicity don't win elections in Edo state. more than 90% of the people that stood with oshiomhole from in his quest to reclaim were Bini people. In 2012,Gen Charles was the guber candidate of PDP,yet Adams won in all the polling stations that elections were held. 1 Like |

khattab02:This clause "to attain leadership in order to exert authority or influence" that is what makes it godfatherism when someone support you to attain a position. For now, you can't call it godfatherism until these traits begin to manifest. |

Odidigboigbo:hmmm.. okay oo We could like Obaseki to free shuaibu and allow the party primary to go smoothly and freely without influence. When a winner emerges then he can throw his full support to that candidate. |

JDJDjD: So there are no other esan aspirants abi? Akhabue, ojezua are not from esan land? Una like self deceit sha.....after this election una go know why Edo elections are always unique. No godfatherism! Period! When odubu was contesting, Oshiomhole didn't stop funding to his office or chase him out of government house. Everybody has the constitutional rights to contest. Obaseki is not Nigeria's constitution. The shock of the national assembly elections will be a child's play. 1 Like 1 Share |

khattab02:He never stopped him from contesting, mind you Shaibu is not the only one contesting in the party platform. You can't say he didn't allow the primary to go freely when the primary is yet to be conducted. |

Indispensable85:Read my write up again but this time slowly. Obaseki is doing what he is doing because he knows Philip shaibu is a strong man If he decides to allow everyone contest without interference, Philip will win PDP primaries landslide and the Esan agenda will be defeated. Ajezua and others will all step down for Asue at the primaries Esan is presenting a consensus candidate to be able to achieve their aim else Shaibu will win Yes Oshiomole fought Odubu to the extent Odubu stopped attending state council meetings Its either u were a kid then or u have never started following politics or u are not from Edo Even oshiomole accused Odubu of trying to use charm and juju to harm him. Just dey talk wetin u nor know. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/succession-battle-oshiomhole-deputy-war-path/%3famp https://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/oshiomhole-odubu-sweet-sour-story/amp/ https://dailypost.ng/2016/09/15/edo-election-odubu-speaks-fight-oshiomhole-new-date/ https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/05/08/edo-2016-oshiomhole-and-odubu-at-war |

JDJDjD: It's only a fool that will endorse illegality because it favours him or someone he loves. So Obaseki had to engage in illegality to be able to get the ticket for his puppet. Tell your fellow sycophants and bootlickers that we'll destroy godfatherism once again in Edo. Don't play 🤣🤣 u don't know anything. Irrespective of what happened between odubu and Oshiomhole, he was never driven out of government house neither was the funding to his office stopped. Like I said earlier una go see pepper ehn PDP will scatter into pieces before the election that the ticket will be useless in the hands of Obaseki's puppet. |
