Former Vice President and the 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed readiness to lead a united opposition force to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

His declaration came amidst jubilation within the PDP following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of the victories of governors in Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara states, all PDP strongholds.

In a statement issued by his media office, Atiku described the court’s decision as “a triumph for democracy and the rule of law,” further offering congratulations to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, elected under the banner of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

“This is a moment for celebration, not just for the PDP and our governors, but for all Nigerians who value fairness and justice,” Atiku said. He again restated the role of a robust opposition in safeguarding democracy, stating, “To truly strengthen our democracy, we need a united front. I am prepared, as I have always been, to lead the charge alongside our leaders and governors for the good of our nation.”

While acknowledging the court’s verdict as “a testament to the good governance principles that the PDP champions,” Atiku also urged the governors – Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Caleb Muftwang of Plateau, and Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom – to leverage this victory as a springboard to “expand the scope of the positive change they have already initiated.”

With the legal challenges surrounding the 2023 elections settled, Atiku said the PDP is poised to play the role of the main opposition party.

Once you get close to Aso Rock and see what the Nigerian President enjoys, the desire to become President becomes as desperate as Atiku's.

Now, the ancestors want to take turns to keep us in perpetual bondage. It's all because of the weaknesses of young educated Nigerians like, well, Reno Omokri.

Atiku is not aware he's expired.

2027 go shock and finally nail him out of active politics.

Too greedy human being. Let's see if atleast 2 of those Governors declared winner today do not negotiate to switch to APC latest a year time.

Let every Nigerian interesting in contesting the office of Nigeria President start their serious work against 2031 because 2027 election will be a walk over for Asiwaju.

May God spare our lives.

God bless Nigeria.

I respect the jujuman wey do jazz for Atiku, the man after more than four failed attempts still believes that he will rule this country
Someone should tell Atiku that he should be a true elder statesman and stop this election charade
There is a time to stop and allow young people lead this battle,it seems his election funds is a bottomless pit
After fleecing a well known Governor from the South South,he is already eyeing another Governor from a North East State who reports claim is richer than the state and is ready to spend on our serial election contester in 2027

I really respect the juju man or Alfa that told Atiku will be president before he dies

2027 is the wrong time for atiku.

2031 is the best time.

Atiku shouldn’t waste money.

It looks like Atiku is deliberately trying to sabotage the chances of any viable candidate trying to bring about a positive change in the country.
Why can't he play the role of a father and support someone that the masses feel that will save us from this present mess?

Tinubu has achieved a lot in life, the gift he can give back to the society is just to make people happy by creating favourable policies.
Why can't 9ja politicians do things that will just make life easy for everyone? Why?
I believe it's because of the pride and superiority complex a northerner has over a southerner, that's why Atiku can't will never support Peter Obi?

Atiku is too naive. This man is wasting opportunities for young and smarter politicians waiting in the wings and ready to contest on PDP platform. Atiku has become a dinosaur in INEC.

Meanwhile, the next class of G5 is bolded for you above.
