It must be hell, working men of the Nigerian Army. I've never seen anyone that impressed me. All those I've encountered had the demeanor of agberos/bullies/abusers/ that escaped the trenches.

Military systems don’t work that way. There are hierarchies and chains of command. And most commands have males members as their heads. What has to be is to follow military rules of ethics and conduct. All over the world, there are such misconducts.
When that happens the erring officer must be summoned and appropriate discipline given. And the victim also given some sort of compensation to provide solace for being treated unfairly.
Actually, every platoon works most effectively when there’s a mix of both genders, especially during high end espionage operations.Talking from experience.

you dont understand....this sexual things happens alot in mixed armies....

i repeat....:
better is to separate them....

their is a reason why cultures always separated men from women....
your woke mindset is not gonna change human nature....
Re: Ruth Ogunleye: Army To Investigate Alleged Maltreatment Of Female Soldier by koning: 11:46pm On Jan 12
It takes a lot of balls, in her case liver, to publicly accuse your superior officer in the army of rape. A high ranking officer for that matter.

I believe her though, but i'm afraid this will not end well for her.

I think her mind is made up to discharge from the force.

Well... in military, everyone is a man... no woman. If you get what i mean. They're seen as the same. So all forms of discipline and exposure meted out to the men must apply to the women.

Once you seperate them, it won't be long before things change.

Again, the battle ground doesn't know man or woman....

NA say she did not go through the right channel to lay her complain, pls do not blame but listen to her cry.if not that she made this public on social media NA wouldn't have respond to investigate the matter asap.many female soldiers are passing through the same thing in the hands of superior officers, but can't come out to speak.if u hear her right she said she is not the only one.just that she is the one that sommon the courage to speak out.

Do they ever make the outcome of the investigations public..
The Nigerian 🇳🇬 military forces especially the army is run like a secret cult, where just a few high ranking officials knows what’s happening.
Take the issue of the the female pilot who died in a mysterious accident some few years ago, the air force came out with similar statements that the cause of her death will be investigated.

Fast forward till this day, no concrete information as regards to her death has been made available to the general public.

Some years ago some soldiers were sentenced to death for mutiny because they protested against non payments of their salaries.

Another incident where a soldier complained on video, about the kind of weapons that they were using to fight the terrorist were obsolete and requested for more advanced weapons, he was told to report himself to his superiors, till today we don’t know what happened to that guy.

And we won’t even hear the last of this one.

Make it public? Like inform the newspaper?

Punishment is better than death or suicide because she is really depressed from all indications.
fidelmarshal199:
The culprits will be reprimanded extensively but she(the victim) will be punished too, for bringing army internal affairs to the public.

That girl suppose resign before they send her to sambisa or allow accidental discharge to greet her.

Such impudence over kpekus as if they don't have wives. They better do the right thing because dem allegations dey bad.

"Unprofessional conduct" What more evidence do we need to know she was telling the truth.
Just a couple of weeks ago another one was in the news for breaking traffic rules.
Nigerians are not unaware of the boorish attitude of a lot of Nigerian soldiers.

Please dear Daddy and Mommy, forgive me for bringing this here. am doing this because av run out of options and I don't have any other choice. My name is kelly, I gave birth to my boy Ayomide 2 years ago and since then it has been a rollercoaster of one event to another. My fiance abandoned us and I move in back with my parents taking care of my son all alone without any assistance even though he was always falling very sick all the time. I notice that he always feels discomfort when his trying to breath so I looked for money to take my son to the hospital. He was diagnosed with congenital heart defect, a hole in his heart, as the cause of his breathing problems. I've cried my eyes out but if only crying can solve problem. I can't stand to see my child in pain.

I've gone almost everywhere I can possibly go but no hope except for hospital. Doctors say that he will need to undergo surgery at UCH for N4.5million and my family with the help of some very kind hearted people have been able to raise part of N3 million. We have sold off almost everything valuable to us but it's not yet enough, that why I am appealing to well meaning Nigerians, if you're touched to save my son's life, please find it in your kind heart to extend a hand of help to him. Nothing is too small in the sight of God. Am calling kind hearted people, please help save my boys life. Please am also calling upon any NGO that can accept my sons condition please. May God almighty bless you immensely and wipe away sorrow from your eye. Amen.

Can't trust what people say... maybe she is doing this for clout .... but when the PR officer said what he said.... I believed her and I strongly believe nothing will be done to the accused.... but she will be given a hard time moving forward.

The army is not social media.
Not exhausting all avenue is unprofessional conduct on her part.
There is no bias. Simply facts.
The army or police conduct orderly room trials and not civil courts because they operate under different rules.
Even in civil courts, parties gets media gags placed on them.

You don't know how the Nigerian military works. A solider follows the chain of command, when he/she has a compliant. In this case, the same officers in the chain of command are the ones oppressing her. The statement by the Director of PR that she hasn't exhausted the laid down procedure is bull crap.

Assumption is the 2nd lowest form of intellectual exercise.
Making baseless statement is the lowest form of intellectual exercise.
You assume I don't know how the military works.
Then you make baseless statements that "there is no avenue for addressing issues in the NG Military' - if you are asked to back up this statement in a petition, with possible civil prosecution following, will you be able to?

I am not an outsider, but a retired military person. So my statement is not baseless. If really you knew how things work, you won't make that comment. BTW, I did not say no avenue, but no other avenue.

Anybody can be anything on NL. I am the current COAS and I was the former CDS
If you are not a fake retired military person, you wouldn't have typed "As of today, there's no other avenue for addressing issues like this in the Nigerian military."
This is a treasonous statement to be made by a non, former or current military person

Statements like this is why Chioma Egodi ran into legal troubles with Erisco Foods.
You all just come online and type anything.
