It was Ibori who brought him to political limelight, he visited Ibori a couple of times when the latter was incarcerated in the UK, then he wanted to run for HA and when he wanted to be speaker.

Mind you, that picture you see was far back in 2003. True Ibori preferred Edevbie but that was only in 2022/2023. They had no issues prior.
