I have very vague memories of Senegal '92. Tunisia '94 was was the first Nations cup I watched consciously and we won cool.
South Africa '96 and Burkina Faso '98 were a total blur as we did not participate.
Nigeria/Ghana 2000 will forever remain in our memories as a cancelled penalty shootout robbed us of the trophy to Cameroon sad.
Mali 2002 (Mali Deux mille Deux) remains my best of all the AFCON, we won bronze medal with just 5 goals through out the tournament grin
Tunisia 2004, Egypt 2006 back to back bronze
Ghana 2008 crashed out
Angola 2010 bronze
Equatorial Guinea/Gabon 2012 blur as we no qualify
South Africa 2013 We won🏆
Equatorial Guinea 2015, Gabon 2017 total blur as we no gree qualify (it's like our spirit no gel with those 2 countries)
Egypt 2019 bronze
Cameroon 2021 crashed out
Cote D'Ivoire 2023 - only time we tell

Total of 16 tournaments, I've witnessed so far. Some Indomie pikins cannot relate

Mama you don old o....

i started watching AFCON 1988

Samuel Okwaraji goal vs Morrocco

Peter Rufai Saves in the semis and the legend of Rashidi Yekini

I was sad by the final when Nigeria lost one nil to Cameroun.

Henry Nwosu good goal disallowed for no reason.

1990- Algeria. 1st match vs Algeria nigeria lost 5-1 but later made it to the final 1990 my favorite eagles player Friday Elastic Elahor. Damn good left winger. Senegal 92- lost to ghana in semifinal abedi pele was the key man. alloy agu lost his front teeth lol, Tunisia 94 we won that one. Went into the tournament as favorite and won . Rashidi Yekini main tournament

Then Abacha withdrawal from 96 and then CAF banned Nigeria for couple of tournaments. We could have won at least one out of those 2.

I lost my zeal and returned with AFCON 2000. where we lost to Cameroun in the final again.

i have been watching sparring since then but im pysched for this one.

I remember a certain Abbey George

I remember osaze odemwingie.

Okocha free kick goal against Cameroon

Kanus assist for Utaka to score winning goal against Cameroon.

Chai Utaka that year. He used to be my favourite. Maybe because of his name though. Where's Utaka now?

I started in 1994.

I started watching World Cup in 1982, though, so it's not an age thing.

Just not interested enough.

I didnt watch the last 3 or 4 AFCONs, either.

Honestly, I'm not so sure I'll watch this one. That won't stop me from wishing Osimhen well, though. I hope he wins the golden boot. A cup for SE will be a welcome surprise.

I started watching AFCON from the
final game between Nigeria and Cameroun in Maroc 88

It still hurts cos we were robbed in that game.
I have never missed any AFCON competition from 1988.

This is the 19th AFCON that I will be watching .

Not correct. Stephen Okechukwu Keshi(of blessed memory) took us to 2014 Fifa World Cup.
u guys will just quote someone and start talking nonsense.
I was talking of keshi taking us to afcon 2013 as coach, won and dramatically resigned right there in South Africa.
And u say no, it is wrong. That keshi took us to 2014 world Cup.
What exactly did I say that was wrong?
I talked of afcon, which is what the thread is about, u are talking about world cup. That keshi took us to 2014 world Cup means he didn't take us to 2013 afcon? Or that 2013 afcon didn't hold in South Africa? Or we were not the winners of 2013 afcon? Or keshi didn't resign dramatically after we won?

If u don't know a story, research.

Nonsense and half truth is when you are not thorough in your narrative.
I know the story completely but stopping at he resigned after the 2013 AFCON as your narrative was, is not the complete story. I don't need the Vanguard link to recall.

Since Tunisia 1994. I have never missed anny AFCON. Memories plenty. Is it the Amuneke winner against Zambia in 94 or a certain South African rising in 96, Benny Mccarthy and Moustapha Hadji in 98, Nigeria losing to Cameroun in 2000. Senegal Renaissance in 2002 but Cameroun dominance. Tunisia hosting to win in 2004 and a three straight AFCON for Egypt between 2006-2010. Zambia reigning supreme in 2012, Sunday Mba giving Nigeria the gold vs Burkina babes in 2013. 2015 seeing Ivory coast golden generation with the Master Yaya Toure at the centre of it all. Cameroun doing it again With a comeback win against Egypt in the finals in 2017. Algeria breaking Senagalese heart with a solitary goal in 2019 and 2021 saw Senegal capture the trophy at last....

I watched the world cup match between Nigeria and India. India wiped Nigeria 99 goals until the Nigerian number 9 rose up to the occasion by scoring from a very dangerous free kick. The goal is my favourite Nigerian goal in a major tournament.
The Venue and the year, please?
