DMerciful: The person that arranged/the confab refused to implement its recommendation before leaving office and you now expect an opposition party to do that. Is that not the peak of foolery. 1 Like |

If Tinubu ever implements true federalism, I'm going to hail him to highest heavens. Let's be honest to ourselves, without true federalism Nigeria will keep running round and round and round till eternity 1 Like |

LandMann: It isn't claiming to be a known entity neither is it claiming to be superior to the confab report. What it does recognize is that amending the Federal structure is a political matter which is why the report is domiciled with a political party and not with the government. 1 Like |

To organize confab and implement within 4yrs isnt easy esp with the hatred towards the president because he is from a minority nationality. Anyways, why can't APC organize a constitutional conference instead of a committee report which does not represent the different nationalities? legba1: |

Oga calm down little Tinubu is a learnt therefore he will not hesitate to drop this frivolous reports to a dustbin. However president Tinubu should call for another confab or he introduced 1960 confab. atiku4President: |

ogaontop: You are inferring something I have not said. Saying the confab is not constitutional does not amount to El Rufais committee report being constitutional. What I am saying is that the representativeness of the confab is wasted as the only way to achieve a change is through the political process which is why the matter is a party matter not a government matter. The difference is subtle but important. 1 Like |

DMerciful: The same CONFAB that the initiator couldn't implement even one thing in the report Besides, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the El Rufai's committee report if it's still in line with restructuring and embracing True Federalism. |

We want a people's constitution so any constitutional review or change must come from the negotiations of the ethnic nationalities in a constitutional conference. frankson1: |

GanagiBitrus: Devolution of power to the states won't still work, it will only enriched already corrupted politicians at state levels. Let there be regional government and local governments directly under the control of the former. States are the sources of our backwardness, end states today and see how much progress we will made in 4 years, even with the current constitution. 2 Likes |

DMerciful: Is it not True Federalism and Restructuring, state policing every regions have been yearning for 🤷 it won't matter what you think or believe if this present leadership can implement one or two of any form of Restructuring that we want and no one would care to know if it was the CONFAB report or any other type of report. Not everything should always be condemned. |

BreconHills:Different members of the confab committee are not just PDP members and they are more diverse than the El Rufai's committee because it's like a National dialogue drawn from all the geopolitical zones of the country! The only thing I can agree here is that governments should make such discussions and subsequent implementation a constitutionally backed national dialogue rather than a political party affair!! |

They know if they take the confab report, PDP will take the glory that's why they just archive it in the Presidential library. Why is the 1999 constitution being rejected? Because they said its was done by the military. So you want a constitution or restructuring thats done by a committee rather than a conference of negotiated resolutions by the people just like the confab? Why do we go around in circles? frankson1: |

happney65:I agree 100%, if Tinubu's Government can carry this out, he will be one of the best things that ever happened to Nigeria. The states can survive without oil money, all we have to do is redirect our minds, look inwards, adapt, find and develop other sources of income and grow. Let's try living civilly and considerately, everything shouldn't be me, me, me. 1 Like |

DMerciful: My comments have been very clear and simple. Is there any other meaning to Federalism: state policing, states resource control or restructuring that was discussed in the CONFAB that is different from the El Rufai's committee If they all mean the same thing then there shouldn't be any fuss about it. If it's implemented, it won't matter which report was used as it would lead to the same results. Even when GMB tried giving autonomy to LGAs and House of Assembly, he was still being criticized by some people. WE DO NOT HAVE TO CRITICIZE EVERYTHING. |
