Rivers Guber: Supreme Court To Hear Tonye-cole’s Case Against Fubara Today by Thonyboy: 9:31am On Jan 15
The Supreme Court in Abuja will on Monday hear and possibly deliver judgment on the appeal instituted by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Patrick Tonye-Cole, against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

One of the prayers of Tonye-Cole is that Fubara did not resign as Accountant General of the state way past the deadline stipulated by the constitution and the Electoral Act.

Hence, Tonye-Cole is insisting that Fubara was not qualified to contest the election, let alone be declared winner of the election by INEC.

This, among others pleas of the APC candidate, is what the apex court will consider later today.

This is as every electoral legal matter is expected to end tomorrow, the 16th of January, 2024.

Key issues raised by Tonye in this case are pre-election matters. Fubara will defeat him at the Supreme Court.

So long as Fubara don chop corn from Agbado, the supreme court won't rule against him.

Those closed door meeting are not for naught.

Even the leadership of the APC don't expect Rivers state APC governorship candidate to win this case. They're preparing for 2027.

With the negotiation that has taken place, the governor's removal is now 50/50.

But I was damn sure about the recall of the commissioners that resigned.

Nigeria's politics is very easy to predict.

When things are supposed to be going right, expect them to go left.

And when they're supposed to be going left, just know that it will go right.
