We already told you, Lagos is no mans land.

IF U CLAIM TO OWN LAGOS, POINT OUT YOUR VILLAGE THERE AND STAY IN YOUR VILLAGE.

Chinedu, remember that we have the antidote to your madness ! It's like you feel like crying again, village boy,do you ? Be proud of your erosion ravaged land for once,Lagos has nothing in common with some hinterland dwelling cannibals from hell !

You started by saying that Yoruba's are not angry but yet ended up complaining bitterly about his mother and the entire project, you still validated my statement, the investment is in Yoruba land for people in Yoruba land to learn Igbo, Igbo land is already Igbo...

You bragged that they are teaching Yoruba abroad but yet see it bad that they are teaching Igbo outside Igbo land...

See hypocrisy....
They're mostly Hypocrites

Skepta (who's maternal family is Igbo) represents his Igbo heritage wearing an Okpu-Ozo (red cap). He also sprinkles Igbo into his rap by using "Tufiakwa" which is an Igbo saying that roughly translates to "God forbid

If you've ever been to the North or let's say Abuja for instance, you'd know these Arewa guys don't joke with their Hausa language. You can enter a government office in Abuja and all they'd be speaking will be Hausa, no English atal.

This is one area I see Yorubas lagging behind seriously.. this language of a thing that our people fail to protect.. I'm proud of my Yoruba identity so I won't allow any blackmail move me. Call me bigot, na you sabi.
Why then do you people want one Nigeria by fire and by force .

Don't you think oduduwa Republic where yoruba will be the official language will be better? grin grin

There are English learning centres all over Nigeria and other parts of the world. It is already spoken as a first language in many places. Similar places like language libraries and cultural heritage centres are also open in the locations where those languages are prevalent. So it makes some sense to open in the South East FIRST. Our local languages are being eroded and metamorphosed also, so that is yet another reason to open in the SEast to help with preservation. The elephant in the room is obvious, the South East is not safe or attractive.
The subtle snake in the room why i say its a bad decision AT THE TIME is the ongoing tribal tensions of Igbos flocking to Lagos and the other states in their droves and DEMANDING to have an equal say in how the state is being run. There is also the gradual push for State of Origin to be made invalid. It's becoming a cause for concern with the charged atmosphere since the last Labour Party elections campaign.
That is not it, as small as the Esan language when compared to the Igbos. There are Esan language centres in port harcourt, Lagos and Abuja, even sapele, there is none in Esanland. It makes no sense to open a language centre in a place it is predominantly spoken.

This one is only making news now because it is opened by a celebrity

The mother never changed their surname. He is a greek nationale. That name is the spelling and pronunciation of adetokunbo in greek. His name was changed over their after nationalising. Αντετοκούνμπο

Stop making comments out of ignorance, hatred and bigotry.

And what exactly does this "Αντετοκούνμπο" mean in Greek?
That woman is toxic, only God knows what the poor man went through in her hands. No wonder he is dead.

I watched the documentary and I didn't feel good when he said that his mum always frown at them whenever they try to speak Yoruba at home but she was cool with them speaking Igbo. His father is Yoruba while his mother is Igbo. But that doesn't mean that she should shield them from learning their father's culture.
Watch it again. The both parents wanted them to learn their language. Stop being one sided

Agbado thugs on Twitter are already crying 😭

It's you that is crying on their behalf, his mother felt Igbo language is suffering and feeling insecure for its survival. That's why he advised her son for this project.

His father doesn't influence him to do that for Yoruba language, he knows that Yoruba is beyond Nigeria, hence there's no threat for Yoruba language till the world end. Such initiative is inconsequential to Yoruba language in anywhere in Nigeria.

Yes, he is Adetokunbo. But, does matter?

Nigeria can only move forward when we don’t relate with each on the basis of Dauda, Chukwudi or Ogunfemi.

Our father divided and destroy Nigeria by emphasizing on the difference between “Apata” and “Akpata.” We should do better.

I'm not discriminating.
Antetokounmpo isn't a Nigerian name.

Later learnt it was a greek translation or something.

What is Igbo heritage in this if not his mother playing ethnic cards, if she has her way, she would have changed the boy's surname to her father name but that one is not possible anymore. The mother to me is a selfish fellow, why did she not allow the boy to embark on a project that will benefit all Nigeria tribes and not Ibos alone.
Meanwhile his surname describes his heritage likewise you

Look at this hungry man talking down on a world-class NBA star. You're indeed very ignorant and dumb yet saying trash with so much confidence.

He invested his time, money and resources on something that means so much to him, yet this hater is here pouring smelly spit everywhere. Poor roaches with so much misguided entitlement.

You're most likely older than this guy, so how have you impacted on your immediate family talk less of community? But you're here shamelessly insulting someone who is doing something positive for the soceity.

Spits!!!

Namaster:
You can ALWAYS count on black people to be especially DUMB. It doesn't matter how wealthy or famous they get.

Imagine establishing an Igbo Language learning school IN Lagos. A language that kids probably ONLY speak at home where they'd already learn it anyway.

It's an EXTREMELY dumb initiative.

Kids don't need to learn a language that is NOT the official language of any country. A language that's spoken by only about 40/50 million people.

Rather, a talent scouting agency or coding school or even trade school would have been a better project.

Seems like the dad's fault, when I saw the butchering of the surname I knew something wasn't right.

Why would the father allow that?

Yes we remember how yorubas helped igbos by starving 3 million Igbo kids.

By stealing all Money Igbos have in Nigeria bank before war start.

Ooh what a wonderful help by awolowo and his yoruba people

That is all about war.
All is fair in war.War is bad.
It makes brothers become enemies.

lol
How many banks do we have in Nigeria then?
How many people put their money in the banks?

Probably 500 people.Maybe 50 Igbos and other non Igbos.

The truth is that it was the Igbos that stole money, all the money in the Central Bank of Nigeria in the Midwest.
