You absolutely need to upload your picture. A warning is issued somewhere on the website about it. Perharps others can help

The only time interviews were unavailable was 2020 COVID period.
There has been interviews since 2021

please delete that ds160 from your profile and fill another form asap, if you are yet to attend your interview do that now and if its dropbox and you are yet to submit go to the site fill an entirely new application form and upload your picture

Nah, don’t try the mouth ulcer thing. He should just state he’s going for visitation. I hope the person he’s going to visit, got her residency via legit means? It’ll be fine, if your dad is sponsoring himself and he is well grounded in Naij (like he has a company or investment generating funds for him). Think more about his home ties, travel history and also consider what’s best for his age. Shalom

Did you apply for medical visa? If no then don't mention medical check up. If you feel he has to mention then be ready to show proof that he can fund the process.

I will be graduating in USA in December (Nursing), and planning on inviting my dad to come for my graduation and I am also considering inviting my brother's wife too so that she will be with my dad all through the journey cos he's aged and also during interview process cos he won't be able to flow in English language well. But my challenges are: The person that will cover the expenses will be my sister who is also legally here in the USA, married with kids and working. Do you guys think it's going to affect his interview as I 'm not the one covering the expenses, yet inviting him. Secondly, my mum is also here in the USA.

It doesn’t really matter who is inviting who. You and your sister should have same dad, except you are maternal step siblings. Then the application gets more scrutiny. (My sister is graduating and we want our dad to be there…)
In the DS160, there’s a field asking who is paying for the trip, your sister should fill her details.
Hope your mom isn’t out of status?
Your sister in law will be judged on her profile. She will be seen more of an economic migrant so a blanket sponsor won’t automatically extend to her.

So funny. If you want information then you have to dig for it here. Nobody handed it down to us just like that. Use keywords and do your search. If you expect people to answer questions the exact way you want it then I don't know what to say to you. To further help you, look for thread 2 and 3. Go read transcripts there. Hopefully you get what you need.

This here is the danger of misinformation.
It’s difficult to correct.
It distracts actors from what the focus should be.
It causes unrealistic expectations

Invitation Letter is almost useless when it comes to B1/B2 Visa. It can’t be uploaded, it can’t be emailed, it won’t be collected from you, and always never read at the interview, so why is there so much importance attached to it.

It is not a holy grail required to kickstart your Visit Visa in the Non-Immigrant Category.

The DS160 Form has fields that you fill to provide details of whoever is inviting you or whoever your visit is based around

If you have access to your previous profile use it of course . And your invitation letter is not useless , okay ? You need that invitation letter to upload along with your MRV payment receipt before you can be granted an emergency Appointment.

That aside , anyone going for a conference , wedding , visiting , burial and graduation ceremonies must have an invitation letter. The US visa officer may not ask for it that does not mean that it is not compulsory. The only set of people who does not need an invitation letter are those going for tourism .
